    Thank you for the video. I successfully installed a new trackpad. My only advise to viewers is that screws removed from the seemingly same area are not the same. The video does not distinguish this. Label or inspect the screws for length when removed from what looks like an exact same screw in the video.

    What a faff and mess. Let’s hope Right to Repair means Apple cannot glue things down any more.

    Replaced my trackpad ribbon as my trackpad and keyboard were not working. Keyboard worked for a day and has since stopped again. Need to replace track pad regardless but what could cause the keyboard to stop again so soon?

      @@fixstudioTV I did try it and it didn't work.
      There's some pattern in keys which does not work.

    I have one of these with a bad track pad, so I am going to attempt this. That prying part looks scary though. Could you use a small putty knife which is wider and stronger than a paper card?

    My a1502 is completely different to this one, my trackpad cable goes over the center battery.

      yeah for some reason the A1502 can either be a 2013,2014 or a 2015. The model number doesn't distinguish which one it is which kind of defeats the purpose of it...

    I have a A1502, but the tracpad area looks different? I see a circuit board there when I remove the cover.

    Very good vid! I used a heat gun sparingly to make the glue more pliable.

    TOUCHPAD MALFUNCTION - due to battery beginning to fail. Battery cells were swelling up and pushing back up against the touchpad making it impossible to "click" on the touchpad corners. Now ordered and will be changing the battery. MID2014 MacBook Pro 15" Retina.

    I have a A1398 Macbook Pro that needed a new trackpad as well. Just wondering though is that black plate above the trackpad easy to take off? 4:41 Mine has a single screw towards the center, and I don't know if I have to take that out before prying off the black cover. Thanks

    I replaced the trackpad correctly. When I booted up the mac the trackpad was lagging a lot and was really unresponsive. Does anyone got a fix for that?
    Could it be a defect of the new trackpad flex cable?
    Btw you can use a guitar string to take apart the battery it worked like a charm!

    What kind of double sided tape/adhesive did you use to put the battery back in?

    • @fixstudioTV
      @fixstudioTV  6 років тому +1

      The battery is always delivered with the tape.

    Can you replace the trackpad and then re-install the original battery? Seems like yes ...

    Very very good and excellent video. Needs no explanation just good music as you did. Was nice to go watch the vid and listening to this good track while repairing my mac.
    By the way what's the name of the track..?

    I wonder if the battery adhesive is really necessary since it's all packed in such a tiny space.

      It could easily be secured by screws but apple likes to try and make their machines harder to repair

    • @paulkrupa
      @paulkrupa 4 роки тому

      @@Joe-Frost Adhesives have their place as do screws. As you can see tape is very thin. Screws would require a threaded socket to hold them. Tape is very efficient. Sure it is hard to dismantle. But tape is secure, reliable and low profile and less costly. No chance of stripping any threads either.

      Slap a piece of velcro in there and call it a day

    • @Joe-Frost
      @Joe-Frost 4 роки тому +1

      @@paulkrupa I feel you, I've seen other machines with better configurations holding batteries in place. It's cheaper in the manufacturing process sure and I've never heard anyone making a decision on a machine based on how the battery is held in place. Apple is doing what any company would in this situation, making their laptops cheaper to manufacture so they have better profit margins. I just like screws over glue.
