Yes Chris Stapleton is the G.O.A.T.
Chris Stapleton can't be put in "Country" box. He is so much more than that!
I think Chris is his own genre.
He is an incredible guitarist❤❤❤
Can we say DEFIANTLY BB King influence!!, every bit!!! Soul, blues and the guitar spoke the majority of the song!!! Respect!!
Chris's phenomenal voice, phrasing, song writing skills and guitar playing, makes him a MASTER in all genres. From bluegrass (Steeldrivers) to bluesy rock (jompson Brothers) to solo, Chris is the rare artist who sounds BETTER live. Not to mention he has written 100's of songs, if not thousands, for other artists, many of them hits. Great reaction!
ItsMarqus-- I heard somebody say that Chris Stapleton is "country-blues" I think that's the best description, a perfect blend of countryish story lyrics and good blues without the worst of classic country and Nashville old time music. Nobody's dog died, mama didn't leave you, no 50-60's scat blues, and no wah-wah music.
He is so bad ass!!
's is the only artist that gets me emotional, and he's done it on many songs.
Obviously it's his talent but I think it also has to do with the word choice. He sings things that one would think or feel while going through what the song is describing.
Chris Stapleton live is NOT the artist you hear on the radio..... he's waaaaayy better. The sign of a musician that loves music and wants to share it face to face. Artists/musicians that love their fans feed off of the energy of the people watching and reacting and put on a better performance. That's the difference between getting rich and being a musician
"You'll Never Leave Harlan Alive" 2022 CMA Awards.
Chris Stapleton's Country /Blues meets Patty Loveless' traditional Country / Bluegrass.
The collaboration is pure fire.
Also a great tribute to their Coal Miner fathers.
This song. Seriously, good song. He's keeping it real. We f*ck up, come back and apologize. We all go through it. That's one thing I appreciate about the songs. Obviously he sings great and plays the hell out of his guitars.
Great reaction!! Chris Stapleton is my favorite country artist by far!! Especially since country went pop. You should check out Seven Spanish Angels by Ray Charles and Willie Nelson!! ( the best video of them is where Willie has a blue shirt on) It’s one of my favorites.
Dwight Yokum and Chris Stapleton also did that song! Fantastic performance
Also, I think he sings BETTER live. Loved the 1st concert I went to, so I went again this year. Already bought my tickets for next year. The energy he brings is amazing.
Man. I like this one better than Tennessee Whiskey. Lowkey made me wanna make my girl mad just to play this. “ giiiiirlll you knowwwww thatttt iiiiiiimmm so wrong” 😂😂
Love the reaction!!!!🙌🙌
Favorite country? Chris 😂
Great comments. Chris is amazing. Other songs (in case you've not heard and keep in mind that his live versions always best}: Either Way - Barely Alive - Sometimes I Cry - Death Row - cover of It's a Man's World - Higher - North Dakota - Cold - Fire Away (video format) but there are so many more Chris songs out there (past and present) that are amazing.. Also Chris, in my mind, is not solely country - he covers all genres (country, blues, soul, rock ....) . He is the best!
I grew up listening to Garth Brooks and anything live of his is awesome! Chris Stapleton is his own genre though. He can’t be held back by a genre title
And yes, there were some black people there too. lol I only said this because of what you said. 🤣 We were all just having a good time.
Influence, one name.... the great Al Green.
Stapleton is up there with the 🐐s . Check out Fire Away if you really want some tears and What are You listening Too - live for some cool vibes. Once you get through his discography check out Sturgil Simpson.
PS get to his concert by any means necessary, it was the best 2.5 hrs of entertainment I’ve ever had. Took my kids and just vibed out.
Agree with all - but you need the video for Fire Away. It really brings home the message of the song, which puts a spotlight on mental health in a way that will have you invested in the story in 15 seconds flat. Pretty much everything else should be experienced with a live performance. Well, except maybe Death Row. There are nuances in the musical mix that get a little lost in a live performance, but the vocals are still killer, of course. Those are the only two to not do live. 🙂
Try Brooks and Dunn " I believe"
I think he is actually better live.
You need to listen to Tyler Childers , White House road. His voice !
I think it's a stretch to say he's a country musician, sounds 50% other influences like Blues, Khruangbin etc
Zach Bryan: Leaving
Or “something in the orange”
🔥🔥🔥🔥🚒🚒🔥🔥🔥🧯
Chris isn’t just the GOAT of country, he’s the GOAT of all music. Here’s another guy, Marc Broussard who’s vocals are crazy powerful. ua-cam.com/video/kM2cTGDZoE8/v-deo.html
Check out Stevie Ray Vaughan "little Wing - Live at El Macombo"
Chris is the best! But there are actually a lot of fun and upbeat country songs. Luke Bryan has a lot, as an example.
I've said it before I'll say it 1000x Chris ain't country that boy is Blues through & through
You know, I was lowkey saying the same thing. Mix of country and blues
Check out some Keith Urban!
Did you get to see him when he was here in Wa?
When did he come?
I can guarantee you unequivocally that you will NOT be the only black person in the crowd. 😏
Watch a few other CS reactions from others and you’ll know exactly what I’m talking about.
