Watching people discover Chris Stapleton is my new favorite thing to do. Your faces are priceless!!! You mentioned James Brown, do Chris's cover of "Man's World". Even the band is giving him the stank face
He is from Kentucky. He has been writing song's for everybody else for year's. His wife had to talk em into singin' on stage to everybody else. Thank God she did. He's been sangin and playin' since he was 6 year's old.
Welcome to the Chris Stapleton fan club. Love Chris Stapleton what a singer musican writer. Please keep up all your great reaction videos ❤️ Love U guys.
I've been listening to chris for about 7 years and the thing that impresses me about chris is when he does a duet or group collaboration, he doesn't over power the original artist. Respect
I thought this same thing! Every time I hear him collab I think he holds back, he can easily over power the person he sings with but instead he lets the other person shine just as bright. It’s amazing!
Kentucky and moved to Nashville to write music. He wrote a bunch of songs for other artists then decided to do it himself. He is a natural born God given blessed singer. He is amazing in any performance. Influenced by Aretha, Maves Stapes, and on and on. I would suggest What Are You Listening To? Death Row, Tennessee Whiskey and the live performance from CMA 2018 with Maves Staples. Enjoy this rabbit hole. His wife Morgana sings with him too.
To compound on what Angela said......his wife is the one that said stop writing for others and get on stage to sing your songs yourself! And luckily, he listened. He's a big fan of Freddie King, too. Shows in his blues music.
@@AlvinEranus Although, he was in The Steeldrivers who played a lot as well as a Southern Rock entity called The Jompson Brothers. He had played live before and was fine but always in a group setting. He probably took comfort in that buffer.
He got his start by writing #1 hits for most of Nashville for 10 years before he ever started producing his on vocals on his songs. His pedigree was the highest you could want before he ever sung a note and after he sung a note now everyone compares everything to him. God was showing off when he made Chris.
So much blues!!! He started out in the industry as a song writer. Wrote several hits for famous singers. Met his wife and she convinced him to sing the songs he writes
Tennessee whiskey and fool me again are my recommendations but no matter what you react to when it comes to Stapleton it has to be live..that’s where the magic is 🇨🇦🇨🇦🇨🇦
Hes from Kentucky but moved to Tennessee and has wrote a ton for alot of big names 1 being Adele ...hes got like 180 hit songs he wrote or co wrote anly about 10 yrs ago he started performing and blew up on Tennessee whiskey.....he can literally sang anything ...the wife and i seen him live 3 weeks ago ...AMAZING!
Chris has been a song writer for over two decades for main Nashville! He also played in several bands, a blue grass band called “The Steeldrivers” and he also had a rock band. He is JUST now over the past three years FINALLY got the recognition of main stream country but he is the TRUTH! He is truly the future of music, so raw and so talented! His first song I ever heard was “what are you listening to” find a live version it’s so good!
Anything he does L-I-V-E: Acoustic "Barely Alive"; acoustic "Fool Me Again"; "It's a Man's World"; "Nothing Compares to U" performed 6 hours after Prince's passing. He's always better live.
I like you two have become swept up by the amazing talent this man has and the passion he ignited in you when u listen to him. Am traveling from PA TO FLA to see him live with my sister because this amazing songwriter has made my bucket list in less than three months. I have to see this guy and I need a witness to see it with me. I just know it’s gonna be epic. I have seen from Prince to Slayer in concert and have over 200 concert experiences. Think this is gonna top them all! Check out Mike Farris another amazing singer songwriter in the same vein. Thanks guys Anthony
Chris was born in Kentucky I believe, but he was a pretty successful ghostwriter for quite a few artists before his wife Morgane talked him into entering his own music career. He actually sings a lot of songs with her as well, with her providing back up vocals. Some of the live shows he does he does with her, and she literally gave us his career. We all should thank that woman.
He’s from Kentucky. Started as a songwriter then in a bluegrass band called the SteelDrivers (that band is still together and more than worth a listen). Eventually went out solo.
He's from Kentucky spent time writing in Nashville and was the lead singer for a bluegrass band called the steel drivers. Parachute is my favorite song he's done.
He’s from Kentucky. He’s a song writer, and written hundreds of songs many recorded by big artists. His wife finally talked him into going on his own. He doesn’t think he’s really good as a guitarist. He was in a rock band called The Jompson Bros, and a bluegrass group called The Steeldrivers. Good music with both groups.
Just saw him live a couple weeks ago. He sounds just as fantastic if not more so live then the studio recordings. Death Row, Barely Alive acoustic, Sometimes I Cry live from the Bing Lounge.
Thank you for this video! People are realizing how talented and humble Chris Stapleton is!!! He was a songwriter for many years before his wife told him that he needed to sing and play his own music, as well!!!
Chris’ vocal runs are so raw and emotional and that guitar tone is so good. The continuous vibrato during his solo is wonderful. I’ve been working on learning his technique. Dude is my current favorite musician/singer.
One guy's joy is shown real time on his face. The other guy is more restrained but you can sense the equations of the universe going on in his brain XD.
He was in a bluegrass band called the steel drivers and a rock band called the Jompson Brothers. Just think this man spent a decade behind the scenes in Nashville before stepping into the spotlight.
Chris is from Kentucky. He moved to Nashville, TN and starting writing music. He has written top hits for many well-known artists. He was in a band with the Jompson Brothers (kinda a southern rock thang), then with the SteeDrivers (an alternative Blue Grass band), and then finally went solo.
tasteful agree - he doesn't overplay, his solo's always seem to breath. they fit the context of the song they are in. the solo in Tennessee Whiskey is very simple but fits perfectly
He has a God given talent with his voice, his writing abilities and playing the guitar. He write some really cool songs! He’s able to say things that others can’t. And he has such diversity in his writing. He has to be able to read people and watch what people go through in order to write some of the songs I think.
Watching everyone experience Chris Stapleton is really fun. Try Death Row, whiskey & you, nobody to blame, Daddy doesn't pray here anymore. The live Bing performance of I was wrong. You also have the live prince tribute.
Been listening to Chris since he was with the Steeldrivers. Check them out. And his wife Morgan! That woman can saaaaang too! Check out their version of You Are My Sunshine & their NPR Tiny Desk Performances.

Gospel, Blues, R and B, Rock...Soul...
I am amazed to see reactions to Chris in the African American community.....they are blown away.
You can't deny straight up talent. He is the real deal.

Like when he preformed with Justin, I feel like Justin had to push him a little even though he knew Chris could outshine him.
