    Good video. When I replaced the bearing on my older model stackable dryer I was amazed how much lint was packed in the interior of the housing, especially at the rear. The heating elements were covered with lint and I'm kind of surprised the thing never caught fire. I cleaned the interior thoroughly and was amazed how much more efficiently the dryer dried clothes afterward.

      every year you must remove the dryer drum and vacuum out the unit and also the vent ducting so it will work better and not catch fire believe me...

    "Threading the new bearing before installation might take some effort" Um, it takes tremendous effort. Been trying as hard as I can and still barely made any headway. This is cruel.

    What causes oil to be inside the agitator and tub of my Frigidaire stacked washing machine ? I was told that it is probably the transmission, but that it could be a couple of different things, your opinion please ?

    Is this repair for when there is a high pitched constant squeak?

    • @johncasor9698

      the noise you here is a worn out bearing holder worn down to the point it is rubbing on the steel retainer so if is that bad this video is worthless because it is not showing the other half of the job which is to replace the drum bearing holder which is what should of been filmed ...

    Whats the average cost to get this done? I don't think I can do all that. Taking it apart seems easy its putting it back is the problem.

    My dryer is missing the drum stop and I can’t find the part number. It’s not included in any kits. It’s also not listed for sale. Please help!!!

      I’ve done that. I haven’t found the part on any major online store or repair site. The diagram doesn’t even have that piece listed. I cannot find a part number. I’ve called the manufacturer and they did not a knowledge that part’s existence.

    After watching 15 videos I have my doubts that anything was needed except a cleaning and new grease. There's no way the ball bearing chewed a hole in the end of the ball. I think it was just a design/engineering difference in the way it was made.
    The only thing the bearing does is ground the drum for static electric and wouldn't make a squealing noise. I stuck my head inside and can see through the holes at the back of the drum and see the shiny ball. If my wife won't let me disassemble to clean and grease with out new parts on the kitchen table then I think I can stick a curved tube through one of the holes in drum where I can see the ball to oil it or even put some white lithium grease in it to lube the bearing. I've thought about drilling a hole to run a long Q tip with grease to it.
    Can anyone here tell me that theirs was not salvageable with cleaning and grease or did you just go ahead and change it because you had the new parts?

      Mine was squeaking for a while and then finally stopped turning all together. I took it apart to find that the entire ball on the beating was completely gone. I had continue to run it so long with the ‘squeak’ that as the ball wore away it also ‘chewed’ away at the plastic seat. I had to replace the whole thing. If yours is just starting to squeak, I’d take it apart now and lube it before the bearing and seat are completely ruined and have to be replaced(assuming that’s the origin of your squeak. There are other places that it can squeak from including the belt arm.). I wished I had. Changing it all was not fun by myself😂

    • @Sny734
      @Sny734 3 роки тому +1

      @@kelleyseaton7162 Mine is still running just fine since I lubed it like I told everyone how. Yes it's on my list to tear it apart and clean and lube with clean grease. It's just not on the top of my list any more. Even a catastrophic failure doesn't cost any more. It just means you'll be going to your mothers till the parts come in. You need to see your mother anyway. If I take one day I can clean and re-lube everything and see if it'll out last me or order parts. I have cancer so I'll probably do nothing till total failure. A dry squeak is bad and chewing away at the ball. Dirty grease is bad but will last a long time.

      @@kelleyseaton7162 Okay so it was another post I described how I lubes the bearing in 5 minutes. I had a sturdy laundry table right there so up on the table on my knees in to the drum supporting my self with my left arm, a little LED pocket light my face against the grill of holes in the back and I could clearly see the bearing to stick a straw on a can of white lithium grease through a hole and WA LA! no more squeak.

    i do not understand this video ??? why would anyone ever replace the drum basket bearing ??? and not the holding retainer??? over time the plastic bearing holder needs to be replace i get that but never seen just changing out the drum bearing without the main problem is the plastic holder and i have done well over 300 of these... and take off the door it will make this job so much easier believe me...
