I think it is time for people to stop comparing and just listen to the music. We know this is a competition, but I think everyone on stage is amazing! I am just sitting here listening and the contestants are up there singing LIVE in front of the whole CONTINENT! Reigan Derry sang that so emotionally from her heart that I cried and I never heard of this song. She is amazing! Everyone is amazing!

Dannii's comments and criticisms are laughable (not just of Reigan.) Watch some of her old performances here on UA-cam. Shes's cold, mechanical, and do I really need to mention her voice (or lack of)? Reigan is so professional, gifted and polished, I commend her for standing in front of the likes of Dannii when she's 1000000 times a better performer and singer.

Thankyou for posting these videos each week, & each year - I have been a subscriber for several 'seasons' of auditions, performances etc & YOU are always on game :) So Thankyou, I honestly appreciate it alot! and...2nd...I loveloveLOVE the way Foo supports 'his girls!!' I wasn't a 'mass' fan of LMFAO, they were awesome fun but I felt they didn't have alot of great substance. Foo has captured my heart though! Simply by seeing his true self, his heart, and soul etc. He is so uber sweet & loving and he has my sincerest & utmost respect for being real :) You can see he is genuine & honest, and those traits are a thing of rare beauty, & to be cherished.
Funny how Dannii comments like this now the final's getting closer and Brothers 3 are Reigan's opponents for the victory. Reigan is AMAZING. World class. Brothers 3 are ok but dated imo.

You're right. I can't see Brothers 3 with an album - they're all good singers, but the way their voices sound together doesn't SOUND like anything in the charts. If Brothers 3 had a chance, why would Dannii eliminate them before the live shows? I mean.. When Brothers 3 first auditioned, they said they'd take any song and put a country twist on it. They didn't live up to that in the live shows! Dannii's a good judge, but before she takes a stab at Reagan for being unable to find who she is in terms of a vocalist, she should look at her own group.

Dani's comment shows so much oblivion of what the music industry is, especially since she's in the industry! Many female superstar from the likes of Kelly Clarkson, Celine Dion, Christina Aguilera, and many others had done so many albums of different genre and able to sell millions of those albums worldwide. Reigan's performances has never fell short from amazing week in and week out. Undoubtedly there are artist who brand themselves to a certain genre, but there are many other artist who don't. Stop pigeon hole-ing an artist and tell them to not do things that they can do so well. That's just pure bullshit. Australia should vote for Reigan!
Dannii is a smart woman and has a point. I am sure Reigan already knows what her lane is and has a plan going forward. But this is X Factor and to have a chance you have to play the game and show your versatility to the voters. The bottom line is: she has more "xfactor" than the other contestants and is arguably the most talented.

Minogue certainly went wrong when she launched personal attacks on Reigan's person rather than critique her performance; Minogue lost focus or her role to critique the performance of each artist; in the end I believe that it hurt Minogue and her crew more than it did Reigan; I personally believe Minogue got carried away after her victory with Dami; she will have a hard time recovering from her fiasco here..
For people bitching about Dannii's comments, she has a point... to an extent. Look at Dean for example. He's great too, and you know what you're getting from him. He's a proper artist already. You know what his album will be like, or what to expect when you go and see him. As great as Reigan is, and I love her versatility, she's doing something completely different every week like a bit of a performing monkey. It's a bit all over the place, to the point that you don't know what her strength is, or what she's going to do. Versatility is great, but you need an identity. I don't think she has found hers yet, and Dannii was right when she said how Reigan at her audition wanted to be stripped back after her girl group past. At times, she's gone back to that. I love Reigan and I'd like her to win because she has the most potential to be a worldwide star. She's so genuine too, but she needs to find her genre and stick to it as much as she can. Like Dean does, take a different song and turn it into his style. That's not what Reigan is doing at this point. It's rock one week, R'n'B the next, now this.
Well some artist needs to make a song their own, because they can't sing and deliver what the original did. But Reigan can and thats what she did every week, some of them on par or even better than the original. Caitlyn is a good example, she only has one lane to go down, because she can only do that style. Half her performances were disasters because she could not make the song choice fit her own strengths. And Danni is comparing Reigan with Caitlyn, seriously? Dean sounds amazing as he sings to his strengths, but the last two weeks felt a bit disappointing. But both Dean and Reigan are developed artist already. I can see both of them being big hits.
I disagree with Dani. Its a competition plis they have themes as well. So of course your tone or voice has to suit it. For example rock week. Do you expect someone to sing like an angel?? What ever genre you have it must suit it. Seriously a circus??? No just no! I think Reigan has the abilities to win Xfactor 2014 no doubt!
Usually the theme of the week just means the genre/song that they will be performing. Doesn't necessarily mean that they have to change their voices to match each Genre, what Danii meant was that Reigan should take the song and put her own spin on it, kinda like what Dean does with his performances, don't get me wrong though Reigan better fucking win or I'll lose all hope in this show

Fantastic performance! Incredibly moving and magical! However, I did get what Dannii was trying to say. When the whole series is over & if Reigan wins the competition, as an artist what would be her musical style be and what would her album sound like? That's not to say that her first six live show performances have been pointless though because it is in those performances where she has proven truly the most versatile contestant I've seen in the entire X Factor franchise ever! All of her performances on the live shows so far show that she is one heck of a performer and would not have a problem performing in front of a live crowd whether in an arena or even in a stadium. Win or lose, I genuinely hope she'll still have a successful music career second time around because she's amazing and she truly deserves it! ^_^
Irene Cabrera This is unfair, because Foo tells as her mentor what to sing and how to sing, so this was basically Foo's interpretation. Then again she's the only one who had that versatility and ability to sing all genres in the way only she did, now being punished for doing so, at this critical moment. This is not constructive criticism, this is the way you ruin singers cutting their self-confidence. The Judges play their own games too.
If you're going to criticize, then be constructive as a judge and stop hating. Out of all the contestants this year she is the most defined pop artist with a little bit of soul. In a competition like this you have no control over what song to pick, you do what is throne at you which she has manage to do well. She not only sing it well but makes it her own.

It's funny how last year Foo and Nat were terrible judges and Ronan and Dannii were good. But now, Foo and Nat are great while Dannii (Mrs. Grumpy Pants) and Ronan are not as good now.

It shows that the judging style changes when they have a better chance at winning the show. It hasn't got anything to do whether they are better or worse this year. Reality is Foo has Reigan who is amazing and doesn't need much work and thats goes for Dean as well! They already know who they are and who they want to be; they don't require much mentoring.

Danni looks down at her notes before she starts speaking and giving her "advices". Seems like she had prepared her "speech" before Reigan even started her performance. So she had decided to make that certain speech for her own tactical reasons.

I love Marlisa but again it took a while for her to start driving her song... Marlisa has great talent but she's only 14, her diamond is not as polish as Reagan's... And don't put to much pressure on a 14 year old... She hasn't fallen or tripped yet... it's only after this that you can see a person composure.

Ok I will repeat myself Reigan sings each note perfectly 99% of the time. That off note is like 1 in a million. Marlisa sings off notes WAY more often than reigan. I read a comment that said she still has a "baby voice". Well if she still has a baby voice why would you say that she is better than reigan. When you say "in a few years when marlisa's voice will mature and be better". - firstly this competition is NOW so saying things for the FAR future is kinda irrelevant - you can't get more range but you can only practice controlling the range you have - if you get marlisa to sing only love can hurt like this and chandelier even bang bang, she won't even come close to what reigan sung. If you say "those songs aren't suited to her voice" and stuff like that you're proving her limited range. - marlisa's high notes are screechy as commented by the judges a few times. Put headphones on listen to the voices and you will see who is better. Or you are really dense about music. Reigan adds her style to the songs she sings, thus making the song "her own". Marlisa doesn't add her style (if she had one) she's pretty much singing karaoke. When I watch Marlisa I don't get the emotion from the song, there's no depth there. I read comments about the amount of views the contestants get. The reason why Marlisa has more view is because you Asian (not just filos) communities keep replaying it over and over. How do I know 1) the view count is very disproportioned to the likes count 2) I'm Filipino I know what my people do. I do get annoyed when my parents "over-replay" her vids. When you say reigan is bad cos she got dropped in the past. At least she came back. Her skills now are honed and at an extremely high level. Just cos she was dropped doesn't mean that she sucks now. This competition is NOW. Sure she said in the introductory interview that she was dropped but it's when you haters over use that excuse. Face it when you get cornered you keep repeating yourself and make yourselves look dumber. Also at first yes I did go for Marlisa. But then I listened to the singing and knew who was better REIGAN Also there are way better Filipino young singers out there so come on.
Reigan is the only signer on the show with a possibility of selling records world wide; the rest will fade back into the crowd once the show ends never ton be heard from again. Marlisa is very spotty and has a long way to go before she is stage ready; Reigan's exceptional performances prove that she is concert ready now and it shows in comnfort on stage; in my view and as far as that song goes I, for one, do not care for it Aussie classic or not. I have heard much better of the same genre.

Whilst I am a Raegan fan, I must admit this performance doesn't compare (not even close) with her previous ones. I think she's set the bar too high for herself and one safe performance, like this one, although good, will pale in comparison.

I think Reigan was a little nervous this time, maybe she honored the song too much, but she didn't make it her own. On the other hand she just sung the song in a way Foo mentored her to sing it. Her vocal was still perfect and best of this week.
I seriously don't know why judges continuously try to put artists inside of this little box where they can label them. The best artists are the ones who can not be classified. Look at singers like Kelly Clarkson who although she sings pop she also does country and jazz. Taylor Swift who is a massive star started off as country and is now a pop artist as well. Beyonce who is pop but also soul and R&B. Whitney Houston sang pop, R&B, soul, and gospel. There is no reason artists can not explore different genres with their music.
I reckon she's the one who joined Australian idol couple of years ago. I was trying to compare her with Marlisa if they're both in same age, I'm confidently sure Marlisa got big edge over her. She (reigan) just got more experience than any other contestants. Some of her notes/attacks in this song is really predictable. Hope she's out a lil bit more dynamics in the first part of the song.
Singing just isn't about experience. It's about voice range and tone. These are given and you can't practice them. After that you can to some extent practice your timing and voice control. Reigan is way above Marlisa in the given category, but you're right about the dynamics of this voice. She could have done more, but she did what Foo mentored her to do.
Funny that you mentioned that. What you need to realize is that they are not judging Reigan for who she was when shr was 14. She's being judged for who she is now and who she is now is amazing. No one in the competition is as good as her. Again, practice objectivity please. Pinoy tayo. Walang masamang mahalin si Marlisa. juat continue to love her without having to put other contestants down. Coz it's just showing the rest of the world how sore a losers we can be. People are starting to hate us for the false sense of Pinoy pride.

Reignan's timbre is blend... if she had timbre... she would long ago have succeeded, no X-Factor needed... it does not suffice to have the range... people with much less range do much better. Her voice does not stand out.

You can support Marlisa, in my opinion she is really talented but I hate when people just say bad things about other talented people just because they have other favorites, it's unfair and completely stupid. She has effortless control over her voice and is easily the most accomplished singer in the competition this year but week after week I always have the sense that something is missing.Points to Danni for pointing it out.You just don't know who Reigan Derry is.Don't get me wrong,I am not trying to hate here,just saying that it's frustrating that here is a great singer,probably one of the best vocalists that X factor Aus. has had but she leaves me cold. And I get it that X factor is a competition and they have to sing different genres and Reigan has no choice etc.but i would like to point out that past winners have done the same and managed to convey the emotion of the song in their own unique way,e.g. Sam Bailey or Dami Im to name just two.This year Dean Ray has managed to do that and he is not half as polished as Reigan is as a vocalist. reigan is the most experienced and obviously can sing but her luster seems to be going down. i can understand it when danni asked "what kind of album do we expect from you?". i think we've seen the best of what she can offer. whether she wins or not, her music career doesn't look very promising. just my 2 cents.

she is amazing! her range is SUBLIMELY phenomenal, quiet, explosive, rock, highs lows, plays the piano, the guitar! I MEAN THIS IS PURE TALENT.

Thankyou for posting these videos each week, & each year - I have been a subscriber for several 'seasons' of auditions, performances etc & YOU are always on game :) So Thankyou, I honestly appreciate it alot! and...2nd...I loveloveLOVE the way Foo supports 'his girls!!' I wasn't a 'mass' fan of LMFAO, they were awesome fun but I felt they didn't have alot of great substance. Foo has captured my heart though! Simply by seeing his true self, his heart, and soul etc. He is so uber sweet & loving and he has my sincerest & utmost respect for being real :) You can see he is genuine & honest, and those traits are a thing of rare beauty, & to be cherished.

You're right. I can't see Brothers 3 with an album - they're all good singers, but the way their voices sound together doesn't SOUND like anything in the charts. If Brothers 3 had a chance, why would Dannii eliminate them before the live shows? I mean.. When Brothers 3 first auditioned, they said they'd take any song and put a country twist on it. They didn't live up to that in the live shows! Dannii's a good judge, but before she takes a stab at Reagan for being unable to find who she is in terms of a vocalist, she should look at her own group.

Dani's comment shows so much oblivion of what the music industry is, especially since she's in the industry! Many female superstar from the likes of Kelly Clarkson, Celine Dion, Christina Aguilera, and many others had done so many albums of different genre and able to sell millions of those albums worldwide. Reigan's performances has never fell short from amazing week in and week out. Undoubtedly there are artist who brand themselves to a certain genre, but there are many other artist who don't. Stop pigeon hole-ing an artist and tell them to not do things that they can do so well. That's just pure bullshit. Australia should vote for Reigan!

Dannii is a smart woman and has a point. I am sure Reigan already knows what her lane is and has a plan going forward. But this is X Factor and to have a chance you have to play the game and show your versatility to the voters. The bottom line is: she has more "xfactor" than the other contestants and is arguably the most talented.
I so agree; Dannii knows how to manipulate audience sentiment and, in my view, her oft stated resentment with the beautiful Kylie and her success globally contrasted with her own lack to do so is evident here. Reigan is beautiful and vocally gifted with world wide appeal just like Kylie; sound familiar? To me it does.

Minogue certainly went wrong when she launched personal attacks on Reigan's person rather than critique her performance; Minogue lost focus or her role to critique the performance of each artist; in the end I believe that it hurt Minogue and her crew more than it did Reigan; I personally believe Minogue got carried away after her victory with Dami; she will have a hard time recovering from her fiasco here..

For people bitching about Dannii's comments, she has a point... to an extent. Look at Dean for example. He's great too, and you know what you're getting from him. He's a proper artist already. You know what his album will be like, or what to expect when you go and see him.
As great as Reigan is, and I love her versatility, she's doing something completely different every week like a bit of a performing monkey. It's a bit all over the place, to the point that you don't know what her strength is, or what she's going to do. Versatility is great, but you need an identity. I don't think she has found hers yet, and Dannii was right when she said how Reigan at her audition wanted to be stripped back after her girl group past. At times, she's gone back to that.
I love Reigan and I'd like her to win because she has the most potential to be a worldwide star. She's so genuine too, but she needs to find her genre and stick to it as much as she can. Like Dean does, take a different song and turn it into his style. That's not what Reigan is doing at this point. It's rock one week, R'n'B the next, now this.
It's about Foo too. He picks up her songs and tells how they have to be sung.

Well some artist needs to make a song their own, because they can't sing and deliver what the original did. But Reigan can and thats what she did every week, some of them on par or even better than the original.
Caitlyn is a good example, she only has one lane to go down, because she can only do that style. Half her performances were disasters because she could not make the song choice fit her own strengths. And Danni is comparing Reigan with Caitlyn, seriously?
Dean sounds amazing as he sings to his strengths, but the last two weeks felt a bit disappointing. But both Dean and Reigan are developed artist already. I can see both of them being big hits.

I disagree with Dani. Its a competition plis they have themes as well. So of course your tone or voice has to suit it. For example rock week. Do you expect someone to sing like an angel?? What ever genre you have it must suit it. Seriously a circus??? No just no! I think Reigan has the abilities to win Xfactor 2014 no doubt!
Usually the theme of the week just means the genre/song that they will be performing. Doesn't necessarily mean that they have to change their voices to match each Genre, what Danii meant was that Reigan should take the song and put her own spin on it, kinda like what Dean does with his performances, don't get me wrong though Reigan better fucking win or I'll lose all hope in this show

However, I did get what Dannii was trying to say. When the whole series is over & if Reigan wins the competition, as an artist what would be her musical style be and what would her album sound like?
That's not to say that her first six live show performances have been pointless though because it is in those performances where she has proven truly the most versatile contestant I've seen in the entire X Factor franchise ever! All of her performances on the live shows so far show that she is one heck of a performer and would not have a problem performing in front of a live crowd whether in an arena or even in a stadium.
Win or lose, I genuinely hope she'll still have a successful music career second time around because she's amazing and she truly deserves it! ^_^
Irene Cabrera This is unfair, because Foo tells as her mentor what to sing and how to sing, so this was basically Foo's interpretation.
Then again she's the only one who had that versatility and ability to sing all genres in the way only she did, now being punished for doing so, at this critical moment. This is not constructive criticism, this is the way you ruin singers cutting their self-confidence. The Judges play their own games too.
I can see your point, especially after Dannii's comments when she was in the bottom two & when she chose Jason over Reigan.
That's the title of her album " Beautiful hearts " Reigan is versatile artist she can do any songs and she always nailed it.
If you're going to criticize, then be constructive as a judge and stop hating. Out of all the contestants this year she is the most defined pop artist with a little bit of soul. In a competition like this you have no control over what song to pick, you do what is throne at you which she has manage to do well. She not only sing it well but makes it her own.

It's funny how last year Foo and Nat were terrible judges and Ronan and Dannii were good. But now, Foo and Nat are great while Dannii (Mrs. Grumpy Pants) and Ronan are not as good now.

It shows that the judging style changes when they have a better chance at winning the show. It hasn't got anything to do whether they are better or worse this year. Reality is Foo has Reigan who is amazing and doesn't need much work and thats goes for Dean as well! They already know who they are and who they want to be; they don't require much mentoring.

I love Marlisa but again it took a while for her to start driving her song... Marlisa has great talent but she's only 14, her diamond is not as polish as Reagan's... And don't put to much pressure on a 14 year old... She hasn't fallen or tripped yet... it's only after this that you can see a person composure.

Reigan sings each note perfectly 99% of the time. That off note is like 1 in a million. Marlisa sings off notes WAY more often than reigan.
I read a comment that said she still has a "baby voice". Well if she still has a baby voice why would you say that she is better than reigan. When you say "in a few years when marlisa's voice will mature and be better".
- firstly this competition is NOW so saying things for the FAR future is kinda irrelevant
- you can't get more range but you can only practice controlling the range you have
- if you get marlisa to sing only love can hurt like this and chandelier even bang bang, she won't even come close to what reigan sung. If you say "those songs aren't suited to her voice" and stuff like that you're proving her limited range.
- marlisa's high notes are screechy as commented by the judges a few times.
Put headphones on listen to the voices and you will see who is better. Or you are really dense about music.
Reigan adds her style to the songs she sings, thus making the song "her own". Marlisa doesn't add her style (if she had one) she's pretty much singing karaoke. When I watch Marlisa I don't get the emotion from the song, there's no depth there.
I read comments about the amount of views the contestants get. The reason why Marlisa has more view is because you Asian (not just filos) communities keep replaying it over and over. How do I know
1) the view count is very disproportioned to the likes count
2) I'm Filipino I know what my people do. I do get annoyed when my parents "over-replay" her vids.
When you say reigan is bad cos she got dropped in the past. At least she came back. Her skills now are honed and at an extremely high level. Just cos she was dropped doesn't mean that she sucks now. This competition is NOW. Sure she said in the introductory interview that she was dropped but it's when you haters over use that excuse. Face it when you get cornered you keep repeating yourself and make yourselves look dumber.

Reigan is the only signer on the show with a possibility of selling records world wide; the rest will fade back into the crowd once the show ends never ton be heard from again. Marlisa is very spotty and has a long way to go before she is stage ready; Reigan's exceptional performances prove that she is concert ready now and it shows in comnfort on stage; in my view and as far as that song goes I, for one, do not care for it Aussie classic or not. I have heard much better of the same genre.

Whilst I am a Raegan fan, I must admit this performance doesn't compare (not even close) with her previous ones. I think she's set the bar too high for herself and one safe performance, like this one, although good, will pale in comparison.

I seriously don't know why judges continuously try to put artists inside of this little box where they can label them. The best artists are the ones who can not be classified. Look at singers like Kelly Clarkson who although she sings pop she also does country and jazz. Taylor Swift who is a massive star started off as country and is now a pop artist as well. Beyonce who is pop but also soul and R&B. Whitney Houston sang pop, R&B, soul, and gospel. There is no reason artists can not explore different genres with their music.
I reckon she's the one who joined Australian idol couple of years ago. I was trying to compare her with Marlisa if they're both in same age, I'm confidently sure Marlisa got big edge over her. She (reigan) just got more experience than any other contestants. Some of her notes/attacks in this song is really predictable. Hope she's out a lil bit more dynamics in the first part of the song.
Singing just isn't about experience. It's about voice range and tone. These are given and you can't practice them. After that you can to some extent practice your timing and voice control. Reigan is way above Marlisa in the given category, but you're right about the dynamics of this voice. She could have done more, but she did what Foo mentored her to do.
Funny that you mentioned that. What you need to realize is that they are not judging Reigan for who she was when shr was 14. She's being judged for who she is now and who she is now is amazing. No one in the competition is as good as her. Again, practice objectivity please. Pinoy tayo. Walang masamang mahalin si Marlisa. juat continue to love her without having to put other contestants down. Coz it's just showing the rest of the world how sore a losers we can be. People are starting to hate us for the false sense of Pinoy pride.

Reignan's timbre is blend... if she had timbre... she would long ago have succeeded, no X-Factor needed... it does not suffice to have the range... people with much less range do much better. Her voice does not stand out.

She has effortless control over her voice and is easily the most accomplished singer in the competition this year but week after week I always have the sense that something is missing.Points to Danni for pointing it out.You just don't know who Reigan Derry is.Don't get me wrong,I am not trying to hate here,just saying that it's frustrating that here is a great singer,probably one of the best vocalists that X factor Aus. has had but she leaves me cold.
And I get it that X factor is a competition and they have to sing different genres and Reigan has no choice etc.but i would like to point out that past winners have done the same and managed to convey the emotion of the song in their own unique way,e.g. Sam Bailey or Dami Im to name just two.This year Dean Ray has managed to do that and he is not half as polished as Reigan is as a vocalist.

reigan is the most experienced and obviously can sing but her luster seems to be going down. i can understand it when danni asked "what kind of album do we expect from you?". i think we've seen the best of what she can offer. whether she wins or not, her music career doesn't look very promising. just my 2 cents.
