You should note that if you get the Aphrodite/Poseidon duo you don't need to be near enemies when using the Aphro special. That has a super high DPS as well.
Same with momus. Sure poseidon is nice, but it's "just" a 120% at heroic, while Aphro's special is a 200% at epic

Some fun situational Pan tech: You can channel the special, then while holding down the special button drop the cast, fire, and still have time to full channel another special into the same cast even without any channeling speed hammers/bonuses.
If you drop the cast then start channeling you don't have time to do two full channels without channeling speed bonuses.
I did not know you could cast while channeling! 🤯 so helpful!
That was absolutely disgusting once you got to cerby
So on aspect of Artemis, I got the BEST pan build by accident lol. Got heroic Poseidon special, with pom it was like 62 dmg. Then spiral knives for 16 knives and hook knives, this makes for 16 knives x 2 (from hook) = 32 instances of your special. And COMPLETELY unintentionally got apollo legendary, so this 32 was then doubled again for 64 instances of my special from one single omega special.
With the 62 dmg from Poseidon, and the 64 instances of special... I saw the largest number I've ever seen from Poseidon from one attack, just over 4100 dmg. I killed Chronos during the 2nd half of his 2nd phase (very last bit of the fight) by barrel stuffing him and using ONE omega special. I never felt so OP ever in my 80+ hours lol
I had pretty good build with aspect of pan. I got heroic aphrodite special and somehow get it to lvl 10 with poms. It already was +410% DMG. Then I got hera and poseidon duo boon (the money one) and i had 2200 so it means +110% DMG. Got hook knives and best DMG i did to Chronos was 4100+. Could be better ngl but still pretty OP
this has been my favorite build for about two weeks now. the most busted I've been able to get it was with Poseidon on Special with Hestia's Cast and their duo, along with both Poseidon and Apollo's legendary. Controlled burn, Super Nova, and Glowing Coal also help with this build. I also had Hook Knives instead of Boundless Flurry, and got faster omegas from Chaos. I've tried getting the Aphro/Poseidon duo, and it works, but until you get the duo you have to be so close to everything and even with the duo it doesn't beat the DPS from steam. the only weak link in the build is having to take Apollo's gain for the legendary.

Out of curiosity, why didn't you take the offer Nem gave you in oceanus? My thought process was that you already had the legendary, so it would just open your magick regen back up to take hera's or something.

My favourite is pan + hook knives + concentrated flurry/dancing knives/spiral knives + posidon special + Hestia cast + slip + Hestia posidon duo boon.
This gets every buff going as soon as the battle starts and basically treats your enemy as a pincushion. Melts bosses like they don't exist.
I feel like the absolute best Torch build is Mel Aphro with the Heartthrobs and potentially the Poseidon or Apollo Duos. Fluid Gain feels like it could be taken over Born Gain to enable going for the Duo. There are quite a few different things that work on those Omega Specials tho, like they are frighteningly efficient and strong.
As someone who is still learning and didn't play Hades 1, hearing your commentary and thought process is extremely helpful!

27:30 am i wrong or did the second omega projectiles from the legendary retarget themselves _after_ you put down the cast? Because that's a super cool little interaction I did not expect would work that way
The best Dagger build with the highest dps for me has been aspect of Pan with:
Poseidon heroic special(There's 2/3 chance of getting heroic special by using Poseidon keepsake and Aromatic Vial),
Hookshot hammer,
Special Flurry hammer(reduces the mana cost and quickens the special speed),
Hermes special speed boon,
Born Gain, and
Poseidon slip effect.
(Honorary mentions: Chaos boons, Hestia Omega Special additional flame, Apollo legendary, and Icarus Omega attack explosion(OP on this build btw) are nice to have if you can get them.)
Poseidon special deals a lot of dmg, especially with Hookshot hammer.
Flurry hammer and Hermes can easily bump the channel speed to near instant, so you can easily spam the special with a slight button hold.
Born Gain helps you spam the special, and Slip effect not only increases dmg, but is also half of The Origination effect; If you have The Furies then Demeter/Aphrodite cast + Slippery Slope will activate both The Origination and The Furies.
I think Hera could have been a really good god here. She makes the cast last 200% longer (and enemies take cast damage right as they spawn), would probably make it easier for both keeping the cast up AND for the magic regen
I think it depend on the situation. When fighting a boss that don't move around too much then it's good, when fighting a boss that move around a lot or while clearing room, longer cast just mean you have to wait longer before you can place another cast or you have to lead the mob to the cast and the damage on spawn is neglectable. You just gonna waste time trying to make it work which is bad with Oath of Desperation on
Had an aspect of Artemis run with Apollo legendary, both omega attack hammers and all the boons that boost omega attack (and I think aphro attack + aphro prime power boost), I was phasing chronos every time I used an omega attack. did have to wait to recharge it a bit though (apollo recharge) since I could only get 1 attack off at a time.
I believe this was also the run I finished with all 25 cards after pulling Justice with the keepsake after Hecate.
Dude the one that makes them go in a line with pan is insane, the 4-6 ones that miss simply don't anymore
Btw, you can use spiral knives with non-Pan daggers, you just have to stand REALLY close to an enemy, and it works on bosses best since their hitboxes are much bigger, so they absorb most if not all of those 16 daggers from all around you. I've done it on Mel's aspect once and Chronos melted, but it was a high risk/high reward build of course.

Not sure if you'll see this or if you've already tried but I just stumbled upon something I found pretty fun. If you get the Zues and Apollo duo boon[wording is a little off or maybe bugged, currently only deals damage after cast like apollos], and use it with the aspect of Charon you get the full empowered magic effect just for using your omega special it actually melts especially if you are using Apollo cast on top of that
Yep we've had it in a few runs, probably a vid here somewhere.
Pan kinda needs Boundless Flurry though, or else you won't be using its extra knives at all in a lot of situations (but most importantly Chronos.) I think increasing the starting number of omega knives in a way that it will take the same amount of time for full charge as other aspects, is one way of making it feel good without making it too imba.

Spiral Knives and Concentrated Flurry on Pan is insanely busted. Aphro special and a chaos special one shot phases every boss. You can also drop the cast down while channeling.
Wouldnt another boon for special be better since apollo doesnt provide much offense on the attack/special boon so taking the attack boon from apollo and then maybe take the special from poseidon delaying apollo legendary a bit so u still take an early special boon and then hope for apollo
I wonder if they should just let some/all of the mana-regen boons work while channeling. It'd be one way to bring them up closer to hera's, even if the numbers are nerfed a bit, since mana-using builds want to spend a lot of time channeling.
I had a build similar to this with the Apollo legendary but with the attack on Artemis. I was going around 7000 damage per omega attack with a crit.

Sister Blades, Aspect of Pan is just so unbelievably good, esp if you get the 16 shots hammer. This game is so well done and so fun already! Also, the speed at which you just BLASTED through Cerberus is insane XD
Every time I use the well to buy a Chaos Gate for Stage 4, it makes me choose between the gate and the special character room. I'm not sure if that's the mechanic, or I'm just unlucky. I rarely buy the gate as a result.

I had this same build a few days back, but with poseidon special and it melted all guardians. Chronos never felt easier.
huh. it seems Chronos was sped up at 36:30 for w/e reason. those orbs looked like they flew faster than usual and he walked faster? trying to time it, it was from 19:30.44 on timer left to 19:26.88, so 3.6s~. comparing to previous video it was 18:35.88 to 18:31.29, or 4.6s...
I don't remember him having varying orb speeds at least, unless he does for different health breakpoints and I forgot?

Would Hera's cast work well with the Pan knives? Since it makes the circle last longer
You can drop a cart while charging the special to counter act the short cast time.
I wish there was something to block Hecate's Hex though. Maybe in the future

If you want damage, you should try the Thanatos aspect on Zorephet, with the Artemis keepsake, the Aphrodite boon on the attack of course, and the arcanes set up to keep you at 30hp. Risky run but the damages are insane... I got Cronos in 8min with it, so, pretty strong.
I'm hoping for a larger map with expanded God pool on the big update!
How do ensure a game seed with a specific hammer, Haelian? Do you just kill yourself over and over until you find it and then "give up" or is there a way to set the seed and save yourself the time...

I’ve been waiting for you to drop this build this became me fav early on.
I accidentally got a build where I dealt 7829 damage against Chronos 2nd phase using just a single OSPEC (omega special), instantly halved his total HP while my Lim and Oros Aspect of Pan is on Level 3. Aphrodite Flourish and both Hook Knives and Spiral Knives hammers can do the job. But, I didn't expect the damage were way too high which I suspect it was thanks to Concentrated Knives hammer from Icarus' Experimental Hammer keepsake.
This is the best build for me so far, 2nd to pew pew staff build.
What do you need to do to unlock the aspect tree?

I have to say I tried out this build and the Apollo special didn't seem that good, (even Dan swaps it out) the damage was quite low. One way would be to get the Apollo attack so that the legendary is available then get Poseidon or somebody good on your special.

You know, I wish that expanding ring from Appolo did some more. Like, its super funny looking, but its just really not that special to make the cast bigger with no other effect.
so i understand the mini boss doors working with ur current 3 god pool but what i dont understand is that when u only have 2 gods in the pool and the door offers a possible 3rd and u roll the door, why does it offers the 2 gods that are already in the pool instead of another possible 3rd god? not sure if im explaining myself correctly.

I know we are all just used to playing with timer on but...if you are just doing a showcase anyway, you might just consider turning the timer off so you dont have to pause all the time while explaining? It really just doesnt add anything :D

I only just now noticed that you can only rarify a boon to the next rarity, regardless of the keepsake rank. That's actually disappointing, I was hoping you could rarify from common to heroic at rank 3 :/
First off, that was the fastest cerberus kill I've ever seen.
Secondly, the build could have been slightly better had you sold lucid gain to Nem and gotten born again from hera. You also could have gone for hera cast so your cast lasts longer, but I guess that doesn't really matter when you're throwing 32 knives at an enemy, dealing 210% damage each.

9000 damage in 3-4 seconds when you got to cerby was kind of nuts to watch. I'm still not really sure how your damage escalated so much with that hammer, can anyone elaborate?

I hate boundless fury because technically it does nothing. You use 33% magic only but u also fire 33% of the total blades.

We dont have a lot of revenge boons for AFK runs, do we? And since we cannot sell boons, boonless runs are kinda impossible too.
@chanlekho yeah but we do have a TON of boons that can allow for a face tank build, so maybe 🤔
How do you banish boons?
I think it's one of the Fear mechanics. After you select a boon, the two other boons you didn't select will never be available again. On this run he also got a Chaos gate that banished boons.

What if you dont pick the card that slows down when channeling? Will the magic generate while channeling then? Like you sacrifice regen for slowdown? Should be like that to be honest!
Edit, after watching Chronos fight i thought. Maybe i should play some other game this seems silly and unpolished xD Saw that a very polished game named Astral ascent youst released 8new weapons, im off to playu that for some while instead!
Do you think the devs considered that the vow that blocks unchosen boons was going to make it extremely easy to get legendaries and other desired boons, or an unintended consequence? I feel like those boons should still be able to show up, you just shouldn't be allowed to select them.
