Interesting how "Make Worst Choices" isn't the same as "Pick Worst Door". There were a couple rooms where both a good run and a bad run make the same door choice, simply because of the further options inside.
If you ever have a guest on the show, you could have them adversarially make all your choices, and that'd allow for more complicated stuff like fated authority usage and pact setup (for higher heats). Could be fun!
winning one of these is basically impossible. he didn't have enough damage, defense, or health to get out of Elysium. it would take a truly random amount of luck to get enough only good option boons. I honestly think it would be easier to win a random choice run (using a random number generator) than a worst choice run.

Rules as I would have done them: - Fated Persuasion but only to use 1 roll if all your options are good for a pick one - When purchases are available, you can buy as many things as you want (money permitting), but you must start with the worst deal. Goes for both the well and shop. No spending persuasion. Same for purging pools, you can choose how many boons to purge but must start with the best. - If having Persuasion to be sure of no good boons is too hard, you could throw in some number of "cheats" where you can pick what you actually want. Probably just one or two Choices I would have made: For the first hammer I would take world splitter and then refuse to take a multiplicative attack boon. Maybe even switch to Dionysus' keepsake to guarantee drunken strike. For the first Artemis I would have gone with pressure points. It's only a 6% effective improvement as long as you don't take anything to reward you for critting. Not choices, but commentary - I find it funny how you complained about how bad a room was when flamewheels are like the one challenge you're decently equipped for. - Butterfly ball would be hellish with this build. It's like the four kings from dark souls, where low DPS is way harsher than it should be because without damage the fight gets worse on a time-based schedule instead of by HP. - I find it hilariously fitting how proud of himself Theseus is for winning a fight against someone who spent the whole run setting himself up to lose.
What about doing a "suboptimal" choice run? You pick any option that you don't consider to be the best in that choice, for example taking either flourish OR flood shot because splash dash was the best. This way it'd be an easier run that can be done on higher heat and still be pretty fun, maybe?
This was fun, but having most of the choices be around “what’s worse for me” takes some of what makes Hades cool, focusing instead only on gameplay. As an alternative, you could have a hard rule on worst choice only when given a boon or hammer option. Everything else you can then decide the best for you, for instance, picking a god instead of chaos because it would be less painful to you. This would also allow you to use the mirror and pact.
How about a slay the streamer like frostprimes slay the spire format where chat votes for your boonchoices and has to try to kill you but also make content That'd be lit!
I personally hate World Splitter just because of how it totally changes the flow of sword. I tend to rely on the special-dash-dash attack pattern and I feel like Splitter just makes things weird. But, I can see how if you adjusted your playstyle it might not be too bad.
As someone who’s never played with stubborn defiance, I’m curious what the soldier in the [!] room of Elysium gives in replacement of Kiss of Styx? Can’t top up your lives if you have infinite right?
@@axllow3914 It's really good when you're first starting out and dying to just regular rooms. It's good for pushing deeper into the biomes and seeing what's ahead, getting practice against bosses etc. Definitely worse once you're good because once you're good you're really only gonna be dying to bosses most of the time, so it's better to have multiple stocks in 1 room than a more stocks across the whole game.
@@Shipwrck86 consistency. sure you can pefect dodge every attack, but you also don't have to if you get more dashes and can dash out of danger far easier/with more consistency with more dashes. the other choices aren't bad per se, but they're the lesser pick in most situations because they're too dependent on you getting other boons and using up your few rerolls to compensate for their limitations.banking your entire build on getting 1/2 specific boons from hermes is just not ideal when you can start the run with that advantage and easily pick up dmg boons from every other god

A bad choices run feels just like when I was learning to play.
Rules as I would have done them:

I did. I’m just fairly new to the game still so I don’t know all of the ins and outs still.
Stubborn Defiance is the alternate version of the regular three defiances and it gives you a 30% health death defiance every room

Definitely worse once you're good because once you're good you're really only gonna be dying to bosses most of the time, so it's better to have multiple stocks in 1 room than a more stocks across the whole game.
Single dash gets you extra damage, sometimes damage is weak in runs and that extra always helps, you can always get an extra dash with a few rolls
there are sooo many ways to increase your damage in a run, but there's only 1 way to increase your dashes and you're not promised to get it.
