I've debated whether or not I should include ships that I convert into carriers. I only wish the number of fighter bays scaled with class/sizse of ship.
Since 2021, I always have looked for this kind of Starsector playthrough. Carrier-based play in a vanilla environment, which I always do by myself whenever I play Starsector. And somehow I luckily found your channel XD Thanks for great contents, you exactly bring what I always dreamed to watch! No other single youtubers did what you are doing now before.
I love carriers. Nothing like watching a swarm of angry bees getting turned into dust while they sting a ship to death. And crew are so cheap, too. Not to mention you get crew from the wrecks, so I just imagine the pilots are convicts packed in there and if they survive x number of sorties, they get a year off their sentence.
>Being a pirate, har har. >Survives brutal fight with rando. >Sits in life pod, pondering the vastness of space that consumes you. > Pod shakes, saved! >Shoved into a tiny ship and told to fly at the big daka daka. The life.
I recommend start doing drug runs ,then move towards midline cv,they have the ability and hangers to take the flagship role, only mid game you have to consider low tech cv for temporary increase defense bcs you might need to setup a colony
Not including Remnant, Wasps are certainly the best drones you can get and they can serve a purpose for a while. They eventually just lose their ability to damage shields on larger ships in a significant way. That in consideration, a swarm of Wasps is still great fun.
@@ButterBaronet yeah, but i don't recommend doing that bcs often time the ships have more than one d mods, rated unusable, cost large amount of credit to restore one ship, why not i just buy it and outfit it myself?
Late game wise better buy lots of astral or make your own astral, one time i got six astral in one vanilla run,it was fun as hell, beating the bbs like palying with toys, and pair with powerful fighters, they can be the most deadly fleet in the sector.
With converted hanger bays tech even your cargo and fuel haulers can be makeshift carriers.

Glad I can entertain!

Nice idea, I will probably do a build around carriers only on next patch too.
Maine weapons are allowed in the run and using point defense is highly encouraged.
Thanks man.

Drones are meh fighters but they don't cost crew. Keep that in mind

Bounty missions is recommended as well if you don't want get cough by the factions,as it can snowball fast but high risk too
Bounty Missions are also a great way to scavenge ships.

why did you sell the AI on the market?
That is a great question - was not thinking apparently.
