- I am remodeling our closet using bookcases and nightstands from target. To lower the price, I would recommend opting out of the drawers, adding more shelves (come with the bookcase) and utilizing cubby towers laid horizontally or the top of the bookcases. I ended up getting my items at a Large discount so I paid a similar amount to what the alternative would have been.

7 BOOKCASES ($40 ea./ $280)
7 NIGHTSTANDS ($70 ea./ $490)
12 SHOWER RODS ($10 ea./ $120)
FULL COST: $890 +tax
NOTES:
You will need your own tools, they don't provide any!
There will be a large amount of cardboard left over (even more if you get them delivered)
This can be done in one day. (I did a few hours a day over three days)

Thanks for watching! I was indecisive about going the target route vs ikea. The ikea version was more expensive but slightly more customizable. I’m sure you can make something work with their many drawer and bookcase options.

Thanks for this! I had been looking for how to get the bookcase on top of the drawers. I did have a question did you just not put the bookcase backs in ?
I put the backs on. It was very tedious so I didn’t add that in the video.

Love the turnout!🙏🏾💪🏾Did you find any trouble anchoring the book shelf on top of the dresser?
I just sat the bookshelves on top of the dressers, and I screwed the bookshelves together. They are pretty sturdy as is but it should be fairly easy to anchor to the wall.
This looks soooo good! Did you secure them to the wall? I’d be so afraid of them tipping over.
Thank you! I didn’t but it’s safer to secure it. Without securing them, they seem stable. They haven’t wobbled or anything. But I did connect them together.
