I have that Heritage model and it is an amazing guitar. I had tried an Eastman and it was also really awesome. I never thought I would get a guitar with P90s, but I have grown to love them. I mostly play jazz, and the Heritage really captures that Grant Green, early Wes, and early Jim Hall tones. Amazing instrument.
I’d take the Eastman. They offer incredible value and quality at any price point and show up many more expensive brands, their acoustics too are simply superb!
What’s amazing is I was able to pick up one of each of these for the same price as a brand new heritage got the T 64 for 1300 used about two months ago picked up a used 90s model heritage mint condition for 17. Amazing It truly looks both of them like their new out of the box. Sometimes I think people buy guitars for novelty but I’m glad they do because the prices are certainly something to take advantage of. I find buying used guitars and upgrading them if they need it, but otherwise I think these are both great guitars, and both of them have similar versatility, but at the same time I have found applications for both truly explore the tone in your fingers and in those knobs. Thanks for the great demos. 6:59
The Eastman has crazy good specs. Ebony fingerboard on a casino/330 style guitar: I don't know if any other builder is doing that. Also Lollars coming stock. I tried one of the American made Epiphone Casinos and it was great but $1000 more than the Eastman. I've tried a couple heritage 330 style guitars and something just didn't feel right: maybe they just weren't getting the humidity they needed to really come alive while being play. I'm going to get the chance to try the Eastman T64 in a month or so. It comes with a bigsby which I think might help some of the feedback issues by damping the top, keeping it from over resonating too much. Fingers crossed the it will be the 330 style guitar for me
I like the tobacco burst color on the H-530, but for sound, I'm gonna have to side with the T64 Eastman! In addition, the T64 looks like an Epiphone Casino, which I dig because I'm a Beatles fanatic!
I had a Heritage H530 and loved it. Sadly traded it for a Gibson Les Paul that I never liked as much as the Heritage. Something about those P90's mounted over a hollowbody that really clicked.
I prefer the Heritage which is more articulated and with tighter bass. The Eastman sounds a lil darker, which is a voice you may like better or not, but not quite as articulated as the 530. At least to my ears.
Nice playing Sasha! I never thought that I go for guitars from China, but Estman are absolout high end! I own now 3 of them inc. T64V and I reget not to own 5 or more. Some ofthe best sounding guitars you can find.
Hi! I was hoping you could share a little more about the Eastman guitars you own! How is the tuning stability? How do you feel about them after all this time with them? Still holding up?
@@nicksandy Hi Nick, I now have 5 Eastmans and I'm totally happy with all of them! I play my 59V every day, one of my absolute favorite Les Pauls. Also new in the stable is a Juliet and she is also absolutely great, super great neck, very brilliant and cheeky! I have never held a bad Eastman guitar in my hands! Cheers Nobby
Interesting that Heritage based their 'version' of the ES-330 on the Long Neck model. I wonder if it has any meaningful impact on the sound and feel? Starting to get a little closer to a 335 / 345 / 355 surely, despite being fully hollow?
The Eastman def has a higher output, as he said in the vid. I bet if he rolled the volume back a bit, it would get back some of the snap and clarity the Heritage has. Best of both worlds if you ask me.
As these very similar guitars, with one of the major differences being that the Eastman has an ebony fingerboard and the Heritage a rosewood board, did you notice a tonal difference or difference in sustain between the 2 boards?
I mean, not really. Both the heritage and Eastman are cheaper and come with more premium specs. Notably, better pickups. Eastman has ebony fretboard, more binding, etc etc All 3 play incredibly well, but fit and finish I’d probably say my experience trying out heritage guitars in shops has been a bit better than Gibson.
@ethanpearson897 I have not been trying out, I own one, have had it since it was released. It's personal choice. It's not an opinion based on playing something that I do not own for 10 minutes. It is a long term review after MY guitar was set up, broken it by me.
@@ethanpearson897 i have 3 Gibsons, 4 other high-end guitars, luither hand built that cost twice as much. There is just something about this guitar. its wonderful to play. It became my main guitar i play all the time. Again, its a personal choice, that is why there are so many different guitars on the Market, one mans treasure is another mans trash
@ I totally get that. I’ve played the USA casino and they’re still fantastic guitars, and they do have that Gibson vibe that makes them super fun to play, so I totally understand.
The Eastman sounds woolly to my ears, but it could be the way it’s set, there are other things to take into consideration the weight the feel and even the smell, I have a Gibson 335 as well as other good guitars, but whenI go for the Gibson it’s like going home every time. The Heritage is probably just like a goodGibsonshould be.
Sounds like you actually mic'd the amp or maybe that is just he camera mic moved closer ... guys why make these videos if you aren't going to capture audio reasonably well?
Hi, Thanks for all your comments. This Video is made 3 years ago and we used an UA OX to record. It seems that the room mic is very present and we apologize for that. We try to improve our sound and video as much as possible so thanks for the heads-up!
You could get a real Gibson ES335 for the price of these guitars secondhand so they both have effectively priced themselves out of the market IMHO. Epiphone are doing it much better at the moment because they are providing great Gibson copies at a realistic price.
Then you should get a second hand Gibson. I will take the Eastman. Get what you love to play. Realistic price is something different for everyone. Buy what you can afford. Play like it is your last day.
These are more comparable with the es-330, which is not nearly as easy to find second hand. Look at prices on reverb and these start to look like a steal!

Does it hum a lot to play blues and classic rock too ? About to sell my es 335P90 to get one ….😅
@@belo1971. P90’s hum. The louder you play, the louder the hum.
That was a really useful comparison, best on the web.
This was the final decider for me, both sound great but the T64v is the one for me.

Enjoyed the heritage more but after hearing the difference in price... leveled the playing field, easy. How's the playability between the two?
Love your playing, could listen to this all day long, thank you man!
Your playing is so sweet. Your tone is so good, saturated. It swings, but you keep everything minimalistic. It is an inspirational skill!
Years ago I owned a beautiful 1959 Gibson ES330TD in great condition. Sadly, it’s long gone but I bought a used Eastman t64 which is excellent.
Dynamic playing brother! Beautiful Sound
In this one, the LAV mic is off and all we hear is the camera backup mic I sounds like ...
Heritage back pickup is absolutely MAGICAL.

I heard it the same way. The Heritage has this little bit of compression in the beginning that become airy with a tight bass sound.
Love your playing!! Lots of Motown and Memphis influence, maybe even some Duane Allman? My kind of player! I’m getting the Eastman.
I haven’t played these models but I just got a used Eastman t59/v that is superb. The value is significant.
Great playing, love the Eastman, What is the song starting around 7:00? sounds like ry cooder, but cant find it.
I thought Ry Cooder...

These two guitars have the same Lollar P-90's...... so how come they sound different? Please educate me!

It affects the sound and playability quite a bit, in fact it was the deciding factor for me - upper fret access is very useful - love my h530
It’s not just saving a big chunk of change but the Eastman is for me a better guitar and the lollars are great pups
I want the Eastman, great demo
What pedals are you using? I love those tones
Heritage, 100%. But if ya can't afford one, the Eastman is a great choice.
They both sound great.
I own a Gibson and a customer core and an epiphone. The Custom Core is so smooth. The gibson Is a little more Rowdy.
Love them both and the price is right !
The Eastman def has a higher output, as he said in the vid. I bet if he rolled the volume back a bit, it would get back some of the snap and clarity the Heritage has. Best of both worlds if you ask me.
how is a guitar with fewer accessible frets "more versatile".
I thought these guitars had the same Lolar pickups in them…
They both have same pickups as far as I’m aware. Think the Eastman sounds more responsive
Both ,thank you
My heart always goes for usa built.
Has to be the best value guitar today as a 335 clone , the Eastman , your opinion is spot on , the heritage has that special semi hollow sound
These are not semihollow
Eastman for me
As these very similar guitars, with one of the major differences being that the Eastman has an ebony fingerboard and the Heritage a rosewood board, did you notice a tonal difference or difference in sustain between the 2 boards?
Lollar P90's on the H530, thier craftsmanship is great
Lollars on the Eastman too…
The Heritage sounded thinner than the Eastman. I should imagine the Heritage is twice the price too.
wonderful vid. the heritage sounded great but something about eastmans they’re just incredible for the price
The Eastman sounds more articulate to me . And fuller too .
Heritage has it on this one
The Eastman T64/VT is much more expensive than a $1,000.
The USA Epiphone Casino trumps these. Its a Gibson 330 with Epiphone printed on the headstock. I have the 330, like the original more tbh.
I mean, not really. Both the heritage and Eastman are cheaper and come with more premium specs. Notably, better pickups. Eastman has ebony fretboard, more binding, etc etc

I'm wondering if it's because the Eastman has 250k pots & the Heritage 500k. They're both Lollar pickups so should be similar.
I feel the Eastman has more of a Vintage vibe.
That poor poor heritage headstock...a headstock only a mother could love.
How about father?
Heritage.

Heritage sounds much better, shame I came into this video opting for the eastman
What does he mean by long neck? Tenon? Further up the body? They’re still 24.75…Arghhh, I can now see… Eastman further into the body
Yep. On the Heritage the neck joins the body at the 19th fret, whereas the Eastman is at the 16th fret.
Heritage sounds clearer, more open...
The Heritage headstock looks shit.
😎😎😎
Heritage has a better headstock. I hate worn guitar finishes but the Eastman has a nice sunburst.
Heritage sounds better. Eastmam looks better.
Heritage has a clearer more acoustic tone to my ear.

Heritage sound retain more clarity with less output. More preferable for me.
Can't tell a thing with the tone knob compressed and reverb masking the actual guitar sounds.
Heritage sounds better
Strange sounding demo. Just played that Heritage and it sounded nothing like this demo.
