@@drrabner47- Frederic Meinders, one of the best Dutch pianists I know (perhaps even one of the best Dutch pianists ever), who happened to be friends with both Martha Argerich and the late Nelson Freire, once told me what it was like to hang out with them when he visited them on numerous occasions (Meinders had moved to South America at the time). He told me lots of interesting things about them (like the huge difference in the way they prepared for concerts, their incredible friendship and their 'joie de vivre'). I must say I don't recall any anecdote about Argerich's improvisation skills though. She may have been too modest to realize that this kind of creativity is actually a rare talent that is worth exploring a bit more. I guess she never thought it was something out of the ordinary.
@@j.vonhogen9650 I’ve read much about their friendship. They had been friends for years. She even bought a house next door to him. I’m not sure in what country. She must have been devastated by his death.
My piano teacher Byrnell Figler once told me "In my day almost no one could play the Rach #3, Now Little girls play it". I'm pretty sure, although he didn't mention names, that he was talking about Martha. Lately some videos of Byrnell have been posted on UA-cam and there is window into the generation before Martha that is quite Winsome and Wonderful.
Legendary!
She improvises on a popular Italian song called "Ciribiribin" by Alberto Pestalozza!
Thanks a lot !

Grazie per il video davvero divertente❤👏🏻
I never thought she would have that kind of spontaneous creativity. Very nice!
I think she has a lot of that type of creativity. But I also think it’s shown only to a chosen few. She’s a very private person.

@@j.vonhogen9650 oh wow! What did he say about their preparation styles?
Such naturalness, and such joy in music!
