I have the 2022 900 the same one you're advertising it's built like a tank it's made out of metal I have it hooked up to an RX z11 Yamaha receiver when they made them better good sound and good picture quality at least it doesn't have plastic on it and when you take out the CD you can never know it's coming out cuz it's so quiet then when you put in its quiet there's no vibration sound or nothing and it does not skip it plays excellent I think that's the best Blu-ray player that ever made I bought mine on eBay I got it used it only cost me $800 a brand new one cost $1,100 to 1200 bucks you can still buy the model but I would not use the app store in it I will use my Samsung television set for that it upgrades your standard Blu-ray disc you'll be amazed by the picture quality and it looks really nice in my cabinet cuz all my equipment is metal I don't have any plastic stuff in my box that cabinet all my stuff is Yamaha except for I like the Panasonic Blu-ray player that's why I got it and you enjoyed the picture and audio sound I also play CDs in it too and it can play recorded CDs cuz I have a CD recorderso if I want to play it back as long as it's finalized from my CD player I can play it in my Panasonic❤❤
I totally agree with everything you said. Streaming services are okay, but you're not guaranteed that movies and series will always be available to watch. Netflix, Amazon, Hulu etc, are subject to having the movie maker pull their licenses for certain movies/series and the streaming services will no longer be allowed to stream the movie! With physical discs, it's yours to keep in your library and watch anytime you want. And some streaming services will charge you extra for HD streaming! You can't beat the sound and visual quality from a physical disc. Period. And if you have a surround sound system setup, this is a gold standard (IMO). I'll NEVER be held hostage to a streaming service and I'll never get rid of my blu ray player (I own an Oppo and looking into purchasing a Panasonic 9000). Peace!
Thanks for the compliment Gina, you 💯% on point 👊🏽. Oppo’s blu-ray player is really good, it’s unfortunate it’s no longer being made but yah I will recommend UB9000 anytime fam 👍🏽
I find the player on the Panasonic web site, but it's impossible to buy, I don't know where to buy it (physical store) Amazon is not something that I like that much!
Sometimes Panasonic will recommend where to buy it from our their website if they have some form of agreement with retailers either physical store or online shop but if it’s not stated on their website the best place to look is on Amazon or you can enquirer from electronics retailers in your region if they have it in store
Blu-ray players usually don’t get new model releases every year like the iPhone. Yes the chassis maybe 2019, however upgrades are done mostly to the internal components like improved capacitors, DAC, DSD, HCX processor etc etc. For the price range it is still the best Blu-ray player in 2024, since the most selling Oppos Blu-ray player are no longer being made, unless you wanna spend on the Marantz then that’s a different conversation.
The drive is garbage. After one year of moderate use, it recognizes and plays fewer and fewer discs. What's the use of great picture quality and great sound if you can't play the media. Don't spend your hard earned money on crap like this!

Is this a new version of the UB9000??? Is this called UB9004.....? DO YOU KNOW the improvements????

That’s unfortunate, have you try to RMA your unit?
