I have loved Peter Gabriel since I was 11 years old. I am now 45. I actually find him difficult to listen to because his music is always such a deeply emotive experience for me. He honestly takes me away and it's so powerful it hurts sometimes. He is absolutely my favourite musician of all time. *LOVE* HIM SO MUCH.
Smutek, nadzieja, refleksja, wspomnienie. I wulkan energii. Jest tu wszystko. To jeden z najlepszych utworów Petera. Kosmiczny -dosłownie- kawałek. Ktoś tu pisał, że to arcydzieło. I to prawda. Minęło już tyle lat od OVO, a ja wciąż do niego wracam.
Few songs move and inspire me the way this one does. I've been a huge PG fan since 1993 when I bought "Us" on cassette, and I was excited to hear "Ovo" when it came out. So I bought it on or near (I can't remember) its date of release in 2000, and was pretty disappointed with it - several good tracks, but a lot of so-so stuff in between. My opinion hasn't really changed over the years, but the one track that captivated me on day one in 2000 still does 18 years later and unquestionably will continue to do so for the rest of my life. Make Tomorrow is for me the greatest piece of music Gabriel has ever made, and I doubt he'll better it now. It's a simple message but a powerful and important one: make your life happen, because no one else will, and you don't have forever. What a contrast this song has, of sad but hopeful. I've listened to it year in, year out, and it has helped me, in the small way that favourite pieces of music can, through some difficult times. It's helped me come down off vertiginous highs and reassured me when I've been worried. It's always there should I wish to switch off the lights and lose myself in it. Also, BT is a musical genius and he adds another dimension to this song. I wish he and PG could have collaborated on some more projects. And this video is the perfect visual accompaniment to it - bravo to its creator.
Because of Peters lyrics, poets and passionate writers everywhere have something genuine to latch onto. Every one of his works of art are reminiscent of some distant part of my life. "Sitting up in a spaceship... looking down at the earth...you wonder, what they are all struggling for, whats it all really worth..." -PG
Peter Gabriel has been an inspiration in my life. Through his works I have been able to paint, sing, draw, and create my own world. While I was in Dallas I sang in church choir and played piano/electric piano and created quite a few really awesome songs and its thanks to him that I almost made it into recording. If I had the time and a wide arrange of sounds I could put a whole video together.
My favourite track from OVO - a masterpiece. Odd though that the show (written for the Millennium) tells the story of the blowing up of a tower, that kills a lot of people. Then a year later...
It would be great to hear a PG-only version, but I think this would always be the definitive version. Somehow, the fact that he only sings for less than 20 seconds in a full 10-minute track makes his verse feel even more special. This is one of my favourite songs of all time, by anyone. Sounds as fresh and beautiful today in 2022 as it did in 2000. It'll never get old.
@@robicenco1there is literally exists full PG version... How come you both missed it? Search on youtube 'make tomorrow alternative version' and you will find it. Its 4 mins only, tho.
Dear God. PETER & RICHIE....HEAVEN. I actually only just bought this album a few months ago despite being a giant fan of both of these icons ( and lovely souls)
“Benedicto: May your trails be crooked, winding, lonesome, dangerous, leading to the most amazing view. May your mountains rise into and above the clouds. May your rivers flow without end, meandering through pastoral valleys... excerpt from Benedicto by Edward Abbey
Put on the dress in which you were married. Pull down the veil till your eyes are hid. Can you remember where we both came from. Let us do as we did. Look at tomorrow today. Making tomorrow today. Make tomorrow, make tomorrow, make tomorrow today. Put back the photo under the window. Put down the 'phone that you hold in your hand. Put away these things that stand in between us. Let us be what we can. When it seems, hopeless. When it seems, hopeless. Make tomorrow, make tomorrow, make tomorrow today. What better measure of what you were doing here Than what you can leave behind. All the children of your children's children. Do you ever think what they're going to find. Make tomorrow, make tomorrow. Where the sacred met the scared. Make tomorrow, make tomorrow. Where the dreamer's dream is dared. In each one of us, a dream can burn like the sun. Let's try it all one more time to get this lesson learned. Sitting up in a spaceship. Looking down at the earth. You wonder what they're struggling for. What's it all really worth. Making tomorrow today. Making tomorrow today. Make tomorrow. Make tomorrow.
Peter Gabriel the human being, two great matchless vocalist here( Gabriel and Richie Havens) wrestling each other =and both winning the great admiration, can you ever get enough of it?
This song belongs in the album Ovo, which is was very experimental at the time. It had nothing to do with the kind of music Gabriel was doing. but, have no doubt, it's Peter Gabriel. In fact he sings, but in the end, like saying 'here i am bitches'
The unmistakeable voice of Paul Buchanan "Blue Nile". Gabriel the maestro conducts, produces another masterpiece. Like this? Check out Steven Wilson "Porcupine Tree" artist, vocalist A+.

What a masterpiece
I think all OVO album is one piece of art
Tout simplement phénoménal ! J'adore Peter Gabriel. Un des meilleurs compositeur et interprête de tous les temps...
twenty years on, sounds like it was made yesterday. So far ahead of its time
Love the song. Came here from criminal minds s1 ep10.
Anno 2001 ..zum ersten Mal gehört, war sofort begeistert. Und ab da einer meiner Lieblingstracks
The scale and length of this track is almost a throwback to Genesis, but with everything that Pete has learned and played throughout his whole career.
The very only musician that has really touched me with his music. T'estimo PG
Look for Loreena McKennit’s Dante’s Prayer and tell me if you are touched by her.
Peter Gabriel est un artiste UNIQUE. Partagez un max de ses compositions svp !!!!!! MAKE TOMORROW ...TODAY !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Vous serez toujours dans mon coeur Peter Gabriel... car moi je vous aimez aussi.❤

One of my favorite Gabriel Albums, beautiful song and still bummed I missed the millennium dome performances that must have finished it (or not)
Beautiful song.
My favourite track from OVO - a masterpiece. Odd though that the show (written for the Millennium) tells the story of the blowing up of a tower, that kills a lot of people. Then a year later...
Just plain brilliant!Like drowning in pudding but without the sugar.
The best tune! I would also love a full Peter version!! Although Richie Havens is a legend also!!!

The beginning instruments remind me a lot of the work of Sigur Rós.
The song does have a bit of a post-rock vibe.

Mass effect 3 credit music sounds suspiciously like this song...and seeing as you saved the galaxy, the lyrics kinda fit too...bioware be stealin?
