I was 13 when I went to watch this show, and it changed my life. Never before had I heard such incredible music, nor experienced such an amazing spectacle. A memory I will always cherish.
Not quite sure why OVO never quite got the acclaim it deserved. So much longing & pathos. My heart. This extraordinary track Low Light suspends such precious & rare blend of Melancholy & Celebration that remains like no other. The galloping of horses running on a stormy beach, The delicate & arduous opening of butterfly chrysalis…..it’s all there ✨
I am taking my daughter to see Mr G next week. She is 30 so her induction is well overdue. One year ago ago I was privileged to be able to record at Real World studios. It was a magical time. Everything about this man has a air of magic.
I will always remember this piece of music. The rumbling low bass, the amazing acoustics in the dome... the hushed crowd... and those amazing visuals. Then the utterly bizzare experience of the Millennium Dome. Then dropping a huge cappuchino on the floor and almost drowning a French woman. Mon dieu.
The Millenium Dome show was the Greatest on Earth, despite all the negative press. Waliking into the Theatre and hearing this and watching the show- words cannot express...
Árdaigh mé suas an dtalamh Raise me up on the ground go dtitim síos san spéir until I fall in the sky Árdaigh mé an dtalamh Raise me on the ground síos san spéir under the sky Árdaigh mé an dtalamh Raise me on the ground Árdaigh mé an dtalamh Raise me on the ground Árdaigh mé an dtalamh Raise me on the ground Árdaigh mé an dtalamh Raise me on the ground
@DanHems I wish I could plug into your mind and have experienced what you did at Ovo. If I could, I'd "neuromancer" up my brain and record what I saw at Pink Floyd's The Wall in LA and trade you for Ovo straight across and throw in the Anaheim Stadium, In the Flesh Tour by Floyd ... yeah, the one where it rained an hour before sunset and a double rainbow appeared right over the stage when they started to play.

Árdaigh mé suas an dtalamh
Raise me up on the ground
go dtitim síos san spéir
until I fall in the sky
Árdaigh mé an dtalamh
Raise me on the ground
síos san spéir
under the sky
Árdaigh mé an dtalamh
Raise me on the ground
Árdaigh mé an dtalamh
Raise me on the ground
Árdaigh mé an dtalamh
Raise me on the ground
Árdaigh mé an dtalamh
Raise me on the ground
Didn't know this was Irish, how beautiful - thank you for these words
