*It's an OLD website I created, very basic....but, it has a lot of information in it.*
After playing this on Williams Pinball app and watching your video, I bought this pinball from little shop of games as-is for 3,500. I modded this pin with spinner, led mods, pinsound sounds board and shaker kit. Great pinball machine and great review👍
What a collection, these three pinball machines are wonderful !!!
One of my favorite all time pins! Thank so much for your kick ass reviews of these classics!
I actually just bought a Getaway partially because of this video, so THANKS CHRIS! :) It's my first machine and it needs work so my learning curve for learning pinball restoration begins......now!
A really great channel you got! Watched your videos over and over for a couple of years now.
I am a collector from sweden, and I really have the same taste as you have.
Thank you for all the good quality videos!
I haven't even watched the video yet, but I'm super pumped! You must be the only guy on the internet who does great pinball videos. Keep up the fantastic job!
Spida1a, great video and description!
I also have very fond memories of HS1. I played pinball before then, but the impact of HS was so immense, it felt like a god came down from the heavens. I played it in a now-torn down bowling alley. It used to be crowded constantly and the sounds kicked ass. Thanks again!
We had a Put-Put golf and Games here in GA right over border of SC, for years, but it never had a lot of pinball games, it mostly had standard arcade games, like Paperboy, Nintendo Play Choice 10, etcc, and an area, where you could rent time on the newest home console games, kind of like try before ya buy thing, but they did not sell the games or rent them to take home rent.
OMG YES! This was in my local Mazzios when I was a kid I played it so damn much you bring back precious memories friend and I thank you for it.
Another awesome video of a spectacular game! I always looked forward to playing the Getaway back in the day at one of the local bowling centers in town. Back then, bowling centers seemed to be the only place you could play some great pinball. Good times.....good times. Looking forward to more pinball videos!
Putt-Putt Golf And Games!! I grew up there too! Well.. maybe I never grew up because now I have a garage full of games. I used to frequent the Hennrietta and Greece locations in Rochester back in the 80s and 90s.
@Code2Quest Cool. Cool. I haven't played a working BR in a long time. Thanks for watching!
I don't know that I've played this pin or not. I'm pretty sure I've taken a run on the original though. Of course, I could be getting the two mixed up in my head... it's been awhile ;)
Love your pin videos. You go into good amounts of depth and the added comments about what the pin means to you are a nice touch
Very nice, also in Switzerland famous!
I got myself one of these over the summer. I strangely find it more addictive than both my TZ and LOTR. It's not deep, but it's got major attitude.
Great video as always!
i played high speed alot as a young kid it was pritty much what made me fall in love with pinball more than the common arcade machines back then.
Thanks for another great review. I never saw this one but did play its predesessor a lot. You are right. The early 90s had a lot of great pinball.
@VividSauce correct. These reviews are well put together.
One feature overlooked was "revving the motor" with the flipper buttons. Only a few pinball machines used this feature. It all started with High Speed, but was used again on Getaway, Corvette, Checkpoint (DE), Indianapolis 500, Harley Davidson (Sega), and a couple of modern machines as well. Some people have more fun running the motor than playing the game. The original Getaway prototypes had other features as well...
Could you please explain this feature in more detail? =]
A great pinball game for sure Chris i have actually played this one a few times and while i like i still like High Speed a little better i think just because it was the one i had played more. : )
@GX2Productions Very cool. Thanks for watching!
@localh21 Excellent! Thanks for watching!!
I used to clean it up whenever I started to notice the rubbers and playfield getting a little film of dirt. It varied. After parties they would always need a pretty good wash. Ha ha.
@HuracanPolimar Yup. It's an 8-bit translation of the Williams pinball. Not a bad one either.
Thanks for watching!
Great pinball cabinet!! And yours is in great shape, too! :)
Oh, and never change the theme. Gotta love the cheese. lol
@ChrisMolyneaux93 Ha ha! Hmm, maybe....I'll check that out next time I visit home. Ha ha. :)
Thanks for watching.
Nice table!, I Love It!
Great review as always!
That's cool, I didn't know there was a sequel. Cool review man!
I really enjoy watching your reviews,you have nice voice,and always say very interesting stuff about games ;}
I so want to get The Getaway for my collection!
And also would like Police Force also! ;)
I have the original classic High-Speed I am fully restoring.
@spida1a Yes. You're lucky to have played or even found a prototype Tommy since there's only 10 of them!
@opticburn Ha ha. Well, I hope you enjoy it as much as I do! Thanks!!
If I had a collection of Pinball machines.
My top favorites. Is definitely
Steve Ritchie themed.
F14 TOMCAT.
BLACK KNIGHT.
FLASH.
SPEED ZONE GETAWAY.
PIN BOT.
SLIVERBALL MANIA.
GOGAR.
Just the name a few.
Very awesome! I've got a Williams Swinger and a Bally Black Pyramid in my collection. I think I'm getting more addicted to pinball each day. What are you feeling on LED bulbs in pins compared to the original bulbs?
@nlafavore ??? We had one over here in Saginaw Twp at the Stardust Lanes Bowling Alley. Great game. Great album, also.
@pinballKing012 Cool, thanks my friend. I'm glad you liked it. :)
Nice Video, I own a Getaway to One of Steve Richies best pins....
very nice i used to have this in my collection but sold it and got a Black Rose
Your vids are really fantastic man. Edited really well.
I do like that they put that track, "La Grange" in the game.
You found that Putt-Putt place on 1986?
I wasn't even born that year when you found it, I missed on a lot of pinball entertainment then, which is a shame.
Hi Chris, I know you're not into mods but do like to put toys and other things back into pins that were meant to be there. Just wanted to let you know that the mountain for The Getaway is going into production. This was originally supposed to be on the game but was cut before production, we got the original mold, licensing from Planetary Pinball and are making them now:
pinballtoys(dot)com
@ChrisMolyneaux93 The only thing that really uses the "shift down" (unless I'm missing something that is) is the Video Mode on the game. :)
Wow we had a Putt Putt here in Ga.
@sonicsteev Thank a lot! Have a great one!
Go to Google Play Store and download The Pinball Arcade app on your cell phone, you'll got a lot of pinball games included The Getaway High Speed II.
looks really fun
good stuff....but i am really missing your turbo videos.
I knew this video was coming any day now and I was right!
@123doomdoom Yeah, I hope he'll post another video soon.
I heard about a home-use version of this game that was produced in 1993, exactly one year after the original arcade version was produced... unfortunately, I never came across it or seen pictures of it, all I know is that the playfield layout is different than the arcade version.
P.S. Anyways, nice video Chris.
@nlafavore I encourage anyone listen to the TopCast featuring Steve Ritchie. He told this story so many times but...it is still hearing it. :)
At 6:23 the DMD Reflection on the supercharger appears to be supercharger flaming :)
@JHMDF Thanks JHMDF. I try my best with limited time. Ha ha (at least that's my excuse). :)
Have a great one.
Baba Booey!! These videos are fantastic!
Another great review Chris, excuse my ignorance, but have you reviewed (or planning to own ) Lethal Weapon 3? if i remember right, this had great music! (c+c music factory i think) KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK
this is cool for sure i have 3 pinball machines. Black Knight 1980 A nightmare on elm street and star trek
loved this machine admas family and pinbot
that game is a collectable and go down with the classic addams family
One thing I keep wondering is, you shift up to move up the gears and collect awards. But the gearshift also says "SHIFT DOWN", so is there any point in the game where you would shift down?
If you were a novice in VIDEO MODE you might need to shift down to slow down, but the only way to max bonus points was at full speed so I never did. I was pretty good at dodging traffic at full speed.
@scottievand I like Who Dunnit? a lot. But, I just have a real blast playing Getaway. So......that's really up to you my friend They're both good. WD? just doesn't have a true finale really to it......and the free-spin in the outlane gets on my nerves (continuously sending a free ball or continuation to the game over and over). :)
@shadowflame1976 Ha ha. Oh darn....if it wasn't 450 miles away, I certainly would pack it up right now for ya'! :)
Ha ha. Have a great holiday!
omg this machine is amazing! btw, what the most technologically advanced pinball machine out there? im talking crazy shit thats not in most pinball games
Love your videos, Chris. I am new to pinball and about to buy my first machine. For my small budget I was thinking either Fish Tales, Getaway, World Cup 94. What's your favorite? Or maybe any other you would suggest on the under $1500 range? Nothing creepy like Funhouse or Dracula, please.
I hope you do Funhouse next.
@nlafavore Ha ha. You know me too well my friend. Hey...did you get the DVD in the mail?
nice vid chris , and this looks like a great game !! :)
keep up the good work buddy :p
Hey what was the 3rd pin from that shipping
@Corad4 It's pretty fun and fits the "speed" of the game. You know? Ha ha.
Yeah...I need to learn a new language. LOL! ;)
@scir91 Ha ha. Yes, totally. Minus the 3D glasses, ha ha!
Chris, I have a choice between this game and "Who Dunnit", to purchase. This will be my first pinball. What's your opinion? Cheers.
Yes, High Speed was based on the true story of Steve Ritchie being chased by the cops, while doing 146mph in his 1979 Porsche 928.
@darkinertia2 Probably Twilight Zone. That game has the most "patents" of any pin-game in history. Ha ha. :)
could you give us a top 10 list of your favorite piball machones, please?
I wish mine was wronging properly.
Dude... don't ever stop collecting pinball machines, and more importantly... don't you EVER stop doing pinball reviews
there's a NES game called High speed too
does any one know around how much this game is worth
My local arcade has this
Um....yes?
so,,,, you are planning on shipping me this pinball machine, fully working and at no cost to me right? :-D
As sammy hagar would say.
Sometimes you can't drive 55..
millions gee wow
"La Grange" :)
Helicopters going after a speeding car? It is not like he killed a person, or robbed a bank!!
La Grange.
@mysyst zz top - la grange
These comments be so old lol
Not much speech though.
