A semifreddo is a light, velvety Italian treat. Technically it’s a frozen dessert but when served, it’s more like a chilled mousse, hence the name ‘half-cold’! how come u don't scoop ALL of the content of what u make out of the making bowels into the dish u make?? that was like almost equal to a baby's portion of ice cream. Why would someone make a video to waste that portion??? so much waste seen on youtube all over like SOOO MANY VIDEOS ON SOO MANY CHANNELS! u should show how to make another dish with the left over in the making bowels!!! like people's magazine has how not to waste peanut butter and how to use ALL OF IT
Do you know how many people there are behind the camera? In Donal's vlogs and snapchat/instagram stories you can see all the other people working with him who I'm sure ate the rest of that semifreddo in no time. Sometimes, he also takes the food home to eat later on.
meri And any of the raw ingredients left over are used later in other recipes I'm sure! They're probably just transferred back into original containers. He puts them in bowls because it's easier to scoop, prettier, and avoids branding while on camera.
I don't know how he can handle putting the spoon in the sink without licking it first..

I was never very taken with semi-freddo until I came to live in Italy and realised how often you end up buying it from the pasticceria (patisserie/bakery) and enjoying like we otherwise would a cake! Now I LOVE it. I make them so often, I'll have to share some of my favourite recipes one day soon, and of course I'll have to try this!
yummy and such a flexible dessert. I took the basic ingredients and added cream cheese, lemon juice and broken digestive biscuits and made a cheesecake flavoured semifreddo- worked really well
I once made an orange semifreddo, and it was so delicious! So light and creamy...I may need to make it again.
I am not a big fan of ice cream or ice cream like desserts. I clicked on it because Nutella. But after watching you make this, I may make it as my belated birthday present to myself.

This is a great way to use Nutella. My favourite desserts include my mum's homemade cheesecakes she made when I lived with her and bananas and custard with hundreds and thousands on top that my nan made me when I visited her.

Should you have waited for the custard to cool down to room temperature before folding it into the whipped cream? Because I could see it was still steaming in the bowl...
no t cool I thought the same thing. Wouldn't the hot egg mixture deflate the whipped cream?
***** yeah the cream was also steaming after he folded it in. I think it was a mistake on his part.

I´ve tried to make homeade ice cream a lot of times but it always turned out in popsicles beause it didn´t get right! So i´m totally into this recipe, when i do i´m going to mention you on IG! thanks for one more incredible video Donal ;)

is there any way to use an almond crust on the bottom? I had a semifreddo at a local restaurant that was one of the best things I've ever eaten!! Thanks!
Im going to be honest for this - had tried this out and here's the thing, if you place this in the freezer overnight after you have tried it out after a few scoops, the nutella will get harden though.
you wont get the oozy chocolatety nutella as youve seen in this video, which means, you kinda need to eat everything there an then after you have place it in the freezer a couple of hours later.

Hi Donal! Should I wait for the custard mixture to cool before adding it into the heavy cream? Are there any other temperature regulations I should worry about? Like, does the heavy cream have to be really cold?
