I have no idea why you have so few followers @rooshie but I expect the number will rise rapidly. Thanks for the very entertaining breakdown. Informative and especially enjoyable being delivered in your non-native language. It all adds to the enjoyment. My word you certainly like your effects stacked up! Super. Cheers. Lee
Thank you for this wonderful video! I've just finished setting up my Arturia MiniFreeze4 (using the last part of your video as a guide) and finally have things set up so I can use multiple channels within AUM with MIDI controllers and use a mic into a separate channel in the same project. Yay!! Thanks again!
Hey I made a screenshot of your comment and shared it on the community Discord server with an extreme excitement 😄 Those guys invested so much time in me to be able to learn everything. I wanted them to see their teaching work! Because this comment of yours was their medal 😁 You totally made my day, I am so happy 😃 Haha
Thanks for the rundown, I like the idea of outdoor recording so it was great to see your desk layout is truly mobile…I’m now considering the Korg Nanocontrol or their bluetooth version which has battery power but is much bigger…off to check out your outdoor videos…its very relaxing to play out of doors…maybe it reminds us of musical origins in forest glades and of course caverns…which is why we all love reverb and delay! Is that why Glastonbury and Cathedrals are so popular? Your vocals are a delightful mix of ancient and modern too!
Hmm, that might be also interesting to have a BT controller 🤔I'll see if i figure out the powerbank solution. Interesting thoughts about the reverbs and delays, i was thinking about the reason why I love it, or why we love it as humans in general, many times. This is an interesting explanation. You saying that I am mixing ancient and modern really made me happy because that's what I'm trying to do. Mixing the old and new, natural and electronic, playing and learning.... Thanks for a lovely comment :)
👍🎶Thanks for taking time to show your production... It's very generous to share your ideas/method..(I have learned so much from watching Jacob Collier's Logic how-to videos on his work...amazing!)
Oh thank you for your kind words! Maybe I should do this more often. But... Time 😀 My desire is to inspire others. So your comment made me really happy 🙏
Very cool ! I never heard about tonebooster apps before. I'll definitely get the EQ. Are there any other app of theirs worth getting ? Using several delays in series to emulate a multi-head delay is a great idea ! Regarding your question about using the side-chain EQ on top of the compressor: there are no rules, only your ears can tell so bypass the EQ and compare. Just a thought about your mastering chain: I don't really see the point of using the Compressor before the multi-band one, and depending of its setting it might defeat the purpose of the MB. What I do is using one MB for the actual multiband compression and another instance after the 1st, with a preset called "high frequency stereo widening" to, well, widen, the track.
Toneboosters are great and I use only them in my live projects (not the FF ones) due to the latency. I still prefer the FF ones for more precise work and for their visual representation but TB plugins can do a great work too. The Sibalance is too strong in the default setting and it took me a while to figure out how to set it right. Barricade is easy to set up. Reverb has magical shimmers! The EQ is a little bit tedious in controls to be honest but works fine and allows the dynamic bands which is great. But Pro Q3 is a winner for some features that i really appreciate and also for the UX. I discussed the master chain with many people and everybody says different things :D One of the advice I got was to put the EQ to tame the bass so that it wouldn't mess the compressor up. I don't always use it because I care about this in the mixing process. In that case I needed to fix the song where the bass was all over the place (you could see the drastic low-end treatment) - it was the Invisible wind track. So it was necessary. Sometimes I put it there to test what sounds the best and check the spectrum. Because I don't record my live performances into the stems, there's often more things to be fixed. (Yeah, I'll start recording the stems 🙄) I don't know how to use the multiband really 😂 I usually use the first option in the mastering presets and adjust it a little bit. I'll learn.
It is so red because you are a part Martian and you’re trying to hide it from us 😂🤣 great video👍🏽also love your humor 💪🏽👍 Vos vidéos sont fantastiques. Vous faites un excellent travail😊
Hi I love your set up and work flow. With your voice i think you really owe it to yourself to get a decent condenser mic rather than the sm58. I use a Rode NT2a, as my main mic its fairly cheap and is a good all round studio mic. A condenser will give you more dynamics and would be a great investment i think. Your getting a really original sound. All the best. your organisation is really good. puts my untidy ass to shame...
Hi! Umm, you're probably right. I borrowed a condenser mic but got a lot better results from the beta 58a. I wasn't able to treat my room well enough for a condenser mic + I have a lot of noise from my neighbors and the road, so for now, I'm really happy for what I have. But you made me think again. I'll discuss it with Jakob, he knows everything about it 🙂 Thanks! And are you serious? Me and ORGANIZED? Ok. From now, whenever somebody will tell me - oh, you know, you should organize your time/life/room/computer/mind/calendar/eating....... better, I'll show them this comment. And will read it when I feel guilty for not being organized and tidy (which is always).
@@rooshiemusic Cool i'm really looking forward to your future projects, Have you signed up for distrokid? doing that really has helped me to finish songs as i now have a reason to/ outlet for my tunes. i doubt many will see my stuff but your style is really unique and i think you would easily do well. anyway all the best from Scotland. i'm off to do my inferior vocals now. all the best Rooshie.
Hi thank you so much, I'm glad you found it useful 🙂 Unfortunately, the interface doesn't charge the iPad. Interesting question, I needed to try it to make sure it doesn't 😅 The iPad can power the interface though which is absolutely great if you want to perform somewhere in the nature for example.
@@rooshiemusic latency is the time it takes for the audio to pass from the microphone through the digital signal processing to your headphones. If there is none then there would be no perceptible latency but it can range from a very light delay to a significant delay where you sing and then a few milliseconds later you hear your voice on the monitors or headphones.
@marcelchaloupka985 oh ok, I think that I mentioned latency concerning the fab filter plugins so I wasn't sure if you meant that or what you just described. Yes, there is a slight latency, and especially in Voices, there's quite a significant latency. I can use the direct monitoring on my interface but I prefer monitoring from the master bus because I need to hear the FX and everything. In Voices, you can enable the non-latency mode but it was causing some problems to the audio. I haven't tested it for a while though. Well, to make the latency as low as possible, I choose plugins that are less resource demanding and the AUM build-in features. I kind of got used to dealing with a small latency and other monitoring problems that I have as a vocalist making most of my music live, even though it's not easy. Well, this breakdown was made for a song that I recorded live. And you can find many more live performances on my channel using the iPad 🙂 So yes, you can use it for live gigs 🙂
I am so overwhelmed by your aum setup that I have to close this Tutorial due to panic and come back later in small portions 😅❤ damn it’s so cool to see how you’re working. Thank you for sharing 🧘🏻🫶🏻
Haha, sorry 😅 And I just made a song that would be a lot better to make in a DAW but... Well 😅 I'd like to make a breakdown of it too but I got lost in it myself already 🤣 Thanks for still wanting to try to watch it 😃
@@rooshiemusic yes I was looking for it and watched your livestream and I still have some videos in my list to watch like the interview you gave about koala. My setup has to be the smallest possible. So it’s my controller and my ipad. And I need to make music live as sound evolution is a main topic of my project. As a beginner I am still searching for every inspiring and playful workflow which in the same time should not overwhelm me too much as mastering a program is sometimes a real challenge itself. I am so thankful that you share your insights. It really helps a lot and the beauty of your sounds and songs give me hope and strength while struggling to sort all the input I get.

What latency are you talking about exactly?
