Hello, It's been a year I watch mushrooms videos, and I am getting more and more passionated. The only part that troubles me is how do you get your clients? Do you go to restaurants directly, or grosseries, etc? I think it could make a pretty good video. I just subscribe😉
That's a great video idea. stay tuned! Thanks
I'm an electrical engineering student, but recently been on a deal-hunting spree to get my very small bedroom mushroom farm started. Found great deals of tents/starting equipment and waiting for my first batch of Lion's Mane and Grey Oyster grain spawn to start colonizing!
Looking forward to growing and making this a formal business in the future (:
That's awesome! Never give up!
I love how you threw gratuity in there, always have an attitude of gratitude 👍🏾💪🏾🙏🏾
Thank you! Thank you!!!
Really nice to see a very recent video on the mushroom business. Kudos!
Thank you!
Great video. Great advice. Thank you for sharing what you have learnt. Motivates me to keep on with my mushroom growing adventure. All the best from Devon in the UK.
You only lose when you give up! Just play the infinite game. Feel free to reach out when you need any help
Thanks / cheers!
I set my 1st tent up in a tiny apartment bedroom, smallest Gorilla Lite-Line they had available. Was a perfect setup to learn with.
Thats how it starts! Soon you'll be growing way too much!
Good luck :)
That's what I just got set up a couple days ago haha, lite 2x2.5'! Still seems like ima grow way too much for myself, so farmers markets or a business are tempting..
my biggest hurdle has been that once I cut the bags the mushrooms take more than 2 weeks to start fruiting
I'm 4 years in to growing 200# a week out of my basement by myself. I've worked myself silly but I love manual labor. I'm about to take the jump and lease a warehouse space. I'll be hiring my first employees and taking some of the load off myself. I'm pretty nervous about it but here we go I guess.
I prefer manual labor over managing people. I had 16 years of managing people before I got into to this and it was often stressful and annoying. That's where my anxiety in this lies
Best of luck to you and your farm!
20 Corporate Stooge here who knows marketing, sales, e-commerce, and social media marketing and I am about 2 tents into this LOL. Looking to escape it, PM me, I'm ready to escape the rat race.
Awesome, very inspirational. I'm contemplating on starting my own mushroom farm, so I'll watch more of your videos. Kgotong South Africa
You can do it!
I want to mushroom farm, but I don't know who I'd sell to. From my understanding most sells are made to restaurants. If it was possible to make close to the same profit I'd be more interested in bulk medicinal sells. My metropolitan area is about 500,000 but delivering to restaurants on a scheduled time sounds stressful do to the short shelf life.
Only about 25% of our sales is wholesale to restaurants. You can just make extracts and retail sales! Just pick one sales channel and get REALLY good at it. Good luck!
This video is so inspiring! It's awesome to see how you ditched your job to follow your love for growing mushrooms and made it into a thriving business.
Thank you for your support!
Hey can you please tell me what have you used to panel your grow room? also awesome vid esp for newbie farmers like me !
Hi Jake! I used Steel roofing sheets on top of insulation, however, you can use Plastic sheeting or Coroplast as a less expensive option. For a really fancy build you can use refrigeration panel. As long as you can clean it easily and it insulates that is all that matters
Good luck!

Thank you for sharing this with us. Great advice to be grateful and start small. I am always learning something from people like you that share their knowledge and experience. Keep up the good work. Happy new year mushroom people.
