Try using half a mackerel John, you’ll get a bit more distance and the scent will seep out better also keep changing baits every 20 mins max if there’s a doggie on the bait get it whipped in and off the hook. I find if you use a dongle and an 8/0 minimum you won’t hook as many doggies either.

Thanks for bringing back some great memories of one of my favourite places to fish John. I spent a great deal of time there when I was growing up (even taking my reading homework down there & keeping a wary eye on my rods on days like you've just experienced.) You can leave the cares of the world behind you on magical sunny days like the one you filmed. Treasure those memories. Health problems prevent me going down there nowadays. It's great to see you introducing the joys of fishing to your children .
Don't be fooled into thinking those bites are just doggy's john, I had a 30lb tope in Scotland just over a week ago doggy like bite till you hit it then it ran. Same for the other 4 runs and 3 landed we had between us.
my second home there john on the first mark i wont name it , catch a live mackeral or launce then freeline them using a baitrunner from low water up under your feet trust me great things will happen

Berkley whiplash or sick got to be a magician to get any problems with wind knots,spool tangle, That's only my experience and casting more as only lure fish,anyway great content ,keep on keeping on,😉✊️

John, good to see you having fun, I have been reading about moons (fishermans almanac), pressure and scents (Dr juice), a bit of berley, (Chum) too. For mullet, I chuck bread in, using a small float and a size 10 with a tiny bit of bread, hit it soon as it goes under before he spits it. It's nice seeing it jump out of the water. thanks for all the slingshot videos. Salutations.
