Very Panerai. Love a Cali dial too. Damn shame it's quartz and mineral glass tho, & 15mm is as thick as a VJ7750 I had! Good price and I'm sure it will sell very well, it's a very handsome watch. Thank you for your review. Cheers mate 👍🏻👍🏻
An excellent value brand. Looks great on the blue strap. I have three Spinnakers and they are hard to fault at the price. Usual well presented and photographed review Peter.
Great review, yet again. I've been eyeing Spinnaker for a while, waiting for a 40mm Fleuss - one of the best-looking sub 300 pounds watch in the market - but it seems every watch that is wearable on 7inch wrists has a deal-breaker. The Cahill is 40mm but has that logo on the side of the case. The Hull Diver and Brandner have long 50mm lug-to-lug. The Hull Riviera and Chrono have mineral crystals. The Boettger is 500 pounds. You get the point. For a brand that active on social media it seems they're not keeping up with the trend, or still have a huge tree trunk wrist market to explore. Anyway, stunning watches.

Thanks for the nice review! Nice watch, just a bit large for my taste, and I'm not a fan of the California dial. I like the date position, and that it's color matched. Beautiful in blue, but absolutely stunning in black. The lume looks great, too. Spinnaker came close on this one!

Dead Or Alive - "You Spin Me Round" (1984)🎵🎵🤪......... I'm on a Spin(naker) phase at the moment, that's for sure!!!!! Although California dials are not my cup of tea (please let us NOT talk about chronos...), this is lovely! What's surprising is the subtle bezel matching in a strange way with the whole watch and the square(ish) case. Bracelet also looks great on this. And screw down pushers...wow! Keep on Spin(naker) Peter, sky is the limit! Thanks you for the review, enjoy whatever you love mate. Love the vintage design and that dial is gorgeous. While I'm not a fan of the mixed numerals, It does make it stand out amongst the rest more. Great video!
Hi Peter,i dont like the watch but i like the idea that companies put a meca- quartz on a more daily watches like divers or field style watches,and spend that extra money of the movement to sapphire, divers extension, etc,cheers😃

Spinnaker / Avi-8 just doesn't do it for me. Always ᴇʟᴇᴍᴇɴᴛs I like (case shape, Cali. dial, jubilee) but it's never enough to make want to own it. The use of mineral glass is a big nope for me. If you don't want to use sapphire due to cost, I get it - so use acrylic! It's the ʙᴇsᴛ crystal as far as clarity and warmth goes & you can polish it. Mineral is all downside imo. Still - interesting watch. I like the placement of the tach. on the domed bezel. Thank-you again Pete.

Hi Kevin, it is Sapphire coated..how strong or susceptible to scratches it is, well I think only time will tell and usage. Nothing can really beat Sapphire...however I suppose, a hard coating on mineral glass is better than nothing..👍 cheers mate

Great looking on the jubilee. I've been very happy with my Spinnaker FF homage. Not a fan of that mixed dual, but the brand makes some nice stuff. Terrific video!
Nice new offering from Spinnaker, thank you for sharing it so well. That dial really pops out in the natural sunlight, brilliant texture and radiance. They seem to have captured that 70's look, comparing it to many of the vintage listings out there. Keep this one away from the garden and shovels with that mineral glass!
Early 30's Id say, but the chunkiness of the case and stubbiness reminds me of 70's Chrono's (Omega and Seiko Bullheads) it seems to sit similarly on the wrist.. Cheers bro
I'm not usually a fan of square watches but this one speaks to me. I also like the Spinnaker brand because of its clear sailing aesthetic a spinnaker being a sail and hull being of a ship and where my grandparents were from. My grandad was also a keen sailor. Might have to invest in one! Keep up the great content!

Quite a few Rolex watches were refurbished by a company based in California using this style fo dial, thats where the name comes from. In the hand it looks better than in the video. To be honest I don't mind it. You will see this type fo dial in early Rolex, Panerai, Glycine etc.. Cheers mate

Watching this while wearing my hull with subby-style indices. Not a fan of the California indices. Wearing it in a StrapCode leather rallye strap for that 70s Steve McQueen look. I also wear it on a blue silicone strap similar to the one you showed. It's a nice watch and I appreciate it's quartz grab-and-go nature. BTW, I think some of the height is due to having the mechanical movement added to the quartz. One other con - sometimes when I'm timing things, I wish it had skeletonized hands so they wouldn't obstruct the subdials. This is a favorite and in the summer, it gets noticed!
I like that you had a map&compas in the background at some point. Those little things just lift up a video from its competitors! More of that! It could evolve into separate background themes for different types of watches. Aquatic/maritime theme for divers, start pistol/old photo of 100 meter Olympics for chronographs. The possibilities are endless(snatch some good stuff from your parents and in-laws!)🤗. For the watch itself. For me personally, I see the mixing of Roman and Arabic numerals as a design language flaw. It disturbs the "purity" of the dial, but like I said, that's just a subjective view. The bracelet is another one. I'm just not enthralled with jubilee bracelets. Again, a subjective standpoint. However, I do appreciate that they dared to think outside the box with their dial(yes, even with the heretic mixing of numerals😉). For that reason alone, I'll check out their website and see what else they got. Oh, also. You always have very clean nails👍. I've seen videos where peoples' hands look like they just worked changing the oil, and that just looks unprofessional when the hands do a lot of the work in watch presentation. It's all about the little things, when you jump from mediocre to well-known. Same can be said about audio quality, always top-knotch💪. Edit: ahaha, you cheeky! That map&compas was from their site. Well, still that is something that I believe would elevate your presentations. No need to go all TGV on it, but it just adds a sense of adventure and.... -Magnum- I have no idea why, but cools shots like that reminds me of the 1980s Magnum series(adventure, treasure and just that completely intangible 1980s feeling😂😂😉)
I tell you what, being a man who uses his hands extensively in my daily routine, the hardest part of YT for me has been keeping my hands cut free, scratch free, clean nails 😂 Thanks for sharing bro 👍
Yep. The ST1901 mov't gets a bad rep. cos it's made by so many different factories and to so many different standards. If the mov't is coming from the Seagull factory in Tianjin and your QC is ruthless you'll probably have to pay twice as much as you would from somewhere making them under license, but it'll be a solid mov't. Both Baltic and Lorier have had success with ST1901 mech. chrono's by doing exactly that.
I dislike roman numeral watches. I hate "California" style watches. What a horrible train wreck of a design. The original person who did this was totally out of ideas and did this as a demonstration of his total lack of design sense. 🤮

It is perfect. I absolutely love it. However can a sapphire be put on it?
I suppose an aftermarket piece could.
The hull chronograph 3 sub dial I believe has a sapphire, should fit.
The all black steel stood out for me, really nice watch.
