You sir have never experienced the sweet sweet highs and lows of gambling addiction. If it hits and he becomes a G.O.A.T., the rush and $$$ will be like heroin. If he flops and it fails, you get to hate yourself to an extreme level. It's a rush either way.
Hi Chris… had a fun idea for a video. You often talk about your love of selling low (not no) demand low pop cards. What if you overlayed the demand on East West axis and pop on north south? Gave examples of cards at certain points on the grid. High demand high pop all the way around. Would be cool to hear your thoughts on how to buy sell collect at each point.
On these /50 Star Rubies cards with only 17 graded, I always wonder where are the other 33 cards?!? 😮 in someone's box in a closet, in the trash, in unopen wax? The possibilities!!!
When I looked up the date of the postmark on the Cooperstown First Day Cover envelope, I discovered June 12, 1939 was the official opening ceremony of the actual HOF museum in Cooperstown, and that all 11 living HOF's, including the Babe, were present. So it probably was some kind of genuine commemorative from that event. My first reaction had been that someone had joined the card & FDC at home in modern times; glad to know I was wrong!
Hey Chris in a recent video you were debating on whether you would send a card to BGS or PSA. Have you done a video on why or the the circumstances you would choose one grading service over another. I'm new to this, but it appears that people tend to send vintage cards to BGS while PSA appears to be the standard for post millennium cards.
Interesting to have Shai and Paulo the top two. Once you mentioned newcomer/s at 1 and 2 I felt sure it was going to be Victor Wembanyama for both spots selling for astronomical amounts. He must have been on the high rollers list before though, I missed that episode. Thanks for the run-down of this weeks high rollers. Both the Shai and the Paulo cards are both lovely cards.
Unless they're min size or something I don't understand why a submitter would ask for an A. If I were a rich buyer of these ultra modern cards I'd assume it's a 5 or less. The first thing I'd do is crack it from the slab too.
its just crazy because will shai or luka even end up being better than a guy like kevin durant? kd doesnt have a black prizm 1 of 1 rookie but if he did would it even be 200k? these prices just dont make sense
If you were gifted the graded basketball packs, would you crack them and open them? What do you think are the odds of getting $10k worth of cards in each pack (14 packs, $140k auction)
I know the old vs new cards thing has been beaten to death, but im pretty sure pirzm 1/1's of modern star WR's (like justin jefferson) go for like 50k. Considering that Kelce is 12k is a little wonky to me
can you avoid being upcharged by having the card graded as authentic instead of numerical grade? honestly idk how any of this works, but since these cards are worth 6 figures in value even saving a 10% upcharge could be worth a ton of cash. or is it maybe bc theyre concerned the card is trimmed or something? i cant understand getting a card graded without wanting a number on it. also id be super nervous if i was about to buy a 109k card and it was graded only authentic. yikes.
Chris excellence video as usual. Question? Who would you suggest sending cards to for high end auction? Fees, Exposure, and high rollers who purchase cards?
I’m big into modern basketball. More than most people here I’m guessing. Those top 2 prices are insane. Paulo is solid, but will never win a ring as a number one option. Shai could, but he’d have to win 4+ to have that price be worth it. When will people learn
Honestly, after 2 years of being around Mr Goldin, I don't care about his auctions. Dude is such a jerk and I always feel like there's sketch stuff going on with his sales.
Can u please tell me how a game used jersey autographed no less by Purdy goes from almost 45k and he's got cards that go for dam near if not more... That goes with pretty much every sports player u can buy a game used autographed jersey for less that a peace of cardboard with there picture on it... What is going on???
It's because the Dallas Mavericks are unlikely to make the Finals. Yet alone win it. And Luka is a great player, but unlikely winning the MVP too, there's room for the card to drop imo
@@bubblesnz1059 Of course, it is true I don't know what the future holds. But there are plenty of other greats who haven't won anything either. Luka will make the basketball HOF. We can agree on this point
those packs are amazing. just makes ya wonder what is hiding in the closets around this country think i will start buying 100yr old house and go gold mining in the walls
Insane prices. Must be drug money or bitcoin millionaires flushing their money on cards. Just because a card is a 1/1 doesn't make it worth 100k or more. I see a huge crash coming in the sportscard market in the near future.
Why are you people like this? Do you seriously want to go back to the days of cards being worth jack shit? You’re probably one of those boomers who sets up at a show and sits there with stacks of garbage low end vintage in rubber bands, grimacing the entire time, and wondering why nobody is buying their stuff.
@@nickbk4418 you're both kind of right. Which is interesting. It's fair to understand that people who don't have collections to leverage into high end stuff or disposable income can't get their brain around 10k on flash in the pan guy's scribble and a small spot of a jersey. They (in many instances me as well) don't see the value. Markets are funny things.
Oh Chris... you're the real Superfractor of the hobby....a 1:1, as Superfractor's tend to be.🎊🥳🎉
Love that Sean Taylor....the Jackie Robinson is in my opinion the best deal on here
I don't know enough about the 3 Stooges set to know if it was a good deal for the buyer. Seller. Or both? But pretty fun seeing that on the list.
The Nature Boy inscription says “Woooo”
Yup!
I just don't understand why anyone would pay that much money for the top 2 cards
Agreed. Likely never to be a Hall of Famer except maybe for Alexander.
I am saying the same thing....they will get hosed, there is no doubt.
Google ‘f u money’ and you’ll see

@@geedubb-q1u The basketball hall of fame is pretty low bar tbh.
13:29 Feels a little dishonest the title is PSA/DNA GEM MT 10 when it is just an AUTHENTIC AUTO 10. Specially since this is on Goldin aka PSA.

Good chance some of them were thrown away over the years
Thanks for another great high rollers reel, Chris! Hope the Dallas show goes well!
Just Wow! On the top 2! Thanks Chris! As always great stuff
13:30 “Welcome Paolo….” And goodbye to hundreds of thousands of dollars spent on Shai G and Paolo that could’ve been put towards a house 😮

That Kobe Bryant PMG card is perhaps his most rare. It shows him passing the ball.
😂

I have not done a video on that but it is a good idea for a video...
See you in Dallas!!
That ‘33 auto Ruth in a cache is.. interesting..
gj chris, glad you went back to the travelling card gypsy style tour.

Victor has actually not been on one yet
If the jordan rubies was altered. Psa would say it.
Even when they authenticate it...they make sure its not altered..

Hope to see you there! We'll be in Terrell Hall, first aisle on the right when you walk in.
If you were gifted the graded basketball packs, would you crack them and open them? What do you think are the odds of getting $10k worth of cards in each pack (14 packs, $140k auction)

Wow! Shai and Paolo getting some serious love
I love SGA and all, but for almost 200k, I wouldve rather gone with the MJ and Lebron dual auto patch card.
I want those 3 Stooges cards! Nyuk Nyuk!

Sean Taylor is 🔥 didn't even know 1/1s in the early 2000s existed

PWCC, Heritage, Goldin, REA, all have their pluses and minuses. For the most part, you would be fine with any of them.

It's wild that boxes with Brady rookies go so high, especially boxes like this, where there is almost zero chance you get a Brady.
"Photo-matched" makes me nervous
Sorry man, maybe I am old school, but the number one card and it going for 196K is ABSOLUTELY ridiculous..good luck with that one!

WOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!
Woooooooooooooooooooooooooo
$147K for the Bron high school shoes? Wow
How can a modern basketball player be worth $200g’s when most 60’s baseball legends wouldn’t bring that much in a PSA 10? Someone help me with this!!
Sweet!
The Sean Taylor PSA 9 is the most shocking to me. I wonder if that’s a legit sale?
(Edit, #1 is also a mind bending sale.)
Geez. Those athletes could be rich just selling a few pair of their shoes.
I’m imagine whoever sold the SGA card netted a nice profit .
Video idea: a video with everyone who has made high rollers with their best card. 1 card per player
Would need to hire some extra research department staff for that one :)
Weird when you said the luka felt overvalued i was sitting there thinking 'oh thats cheaper than id expected' 😂 thats cards for you though right
