Why a War With Iran Is Inevitable

#Iran may not have launched any direct wars, but the Revolutionary Guards have helped to sow chaos throughout the region, and it appears that they were in some way behind Hamas' brutal attack on #Israel on 7 October. For example, it appears that they were in some way behind Hamas's brutal attack on Israel on 7 October. How? By providing the Palestinian terrorist group with weapons and training.
And that is not all, there is also the issue of the nuclear programme, which is unacceptable because of the risk it would pose to Israel, to the US's own deterrence - which would lose much of its strength - and also because of the risk of nuclear proliferation. Obviously, if Iran gets its hands on the bomb, don't think for a moment that Saudi Arabia, the Emirates or even Turkey will sit idly by. And to top it all off, there is the support for #Russia. Whichever way you look at it, Iran is becoming an increasingly difficult headache for the US to cope with.

There's a dude called scott ritter on the internet. He says some funky things about russians sometimes, but he's right about a lot of things too. Among them is nuclear war: Back in the cold war, the US and the Soviets were still TALKING to each other. The people in power today seem too caught up in their own ideas of morality and ideology to actually do their job. Diplomacy is substituted for demands and ultimatums, and compromise and negotiations are ignored. The world needs some pragmatic leaders, with realistic policies. For the first time since the enlightenment era, it is clear that idealism alone is not enough. Not when you're no longer running the world.
I don't think it's an exaggeration to say that we're closer to nuclear war than we've probably ever been.

As an iranian i think abandoning the nuclear deal was a great move by US. after that withdrawal the iranian economy got devastated and it really turned the people against regime in a span of 2-3 years. The hardliners in Iran who support supreme leader were always skeptical of the deal and wanted to abandon it just like republicans in america. So eventually that deal was gonna be abandoned anyway, and a single nuclear deal wouldn't solve any of the other problems between america and iran. So, morally it was the worst thing america could do since it created a black market and allowed government to control the whole economy, but strategically, great move.

As much as Iran is USA's problem, a war in the region would be a catastrophe for Europe.
Just number wise, Iran is an 80 million strong country (ie Germany) with young demographics, over 70% of the population under 45 years of age. The humanitarian/refugee crisis that could come from this war would put the Syrian crisis to shame. If anything, with America becoming ever more sketchy with Ukraine effort, the EU should ensure war is avoided.

Some in the EU are waking up to the fact that the American policy makers mainly views the Anglosphere countries as it's family by blood and the other European nations more like family through marriage. (The NSA has spied on Western European nations and their leaders, but not Britain, check out stuff like wikileaks, 5eyes, GCHQ optic fiber tapping, etc.)
Most Western Europeans and especially policy makers however, still would follow America (very reluctantly) into the grave if asked.

The answer is no. War with Iran is not in the US interest. The middle east as a whole is no longer a US key interest. We should be shifting our primary focus to the Pacific, and supporting proxies in the middle east as an afterthought. If the Israelis or Saudis or Turkey or whoever want to buy American weapon and defense technology, or even hire American security contractors, that's fine. They have the money to do so. They are capable of fighting their own battles at this point, or forming a self-interested coalition to oppose a regional threat like Iran. They are also probably much better ... oriented toward the low-intensity /assassination stuff in their own backyards that we just don't want to be involved in.

The current mass turmoil is proof of this. Countries are getting cocky because China potentially rivals U.S. power, they may even be purposefully working together to whittle down American supplies/money/will to fight and trying to drive wedges between our allies.
America may be seen as a bully on the world stage but its presence has helped ensure free trade for almost a century now.

The real question is: How stop the threat by the US?" - In the past 30 years has started more wars than all other countries combined, it has dropped more bombs than all other countries combined, it has killed more people than all other countries combined, with it's 900 billion dollar military it contributs 40% of all military spending of the world (for comparsion: China, the 2nd biggest military spender spends 270 billion), the US has 800 military bases outside of it's iwn territory, that's 4 per country on the planet (while Russia has 3, China just 1 outside their respective territory) and so on.

I am from Iran and I know that there are many experts and experienced people in the Pentagon who analyze and watch Iran every day. Certainly, if they were sure that they could win the war with Iran, they would have attacked Iran right now and taken one of the most important geographical areas in the world with huge reserves of fossil fuels and precious metal mines. But they definitely know Something that's why they don't make a move

If the US wanted to seriously hurt Iran and suffer minimal casualties it would destroy Iranian oil export terminals and pipelines. Oil is 70% of Iranian government revenue and 20% of the nation's GDP. It would dissappear almost overnight. While I pray to god almighty that there is never a war between your people and mine, I have no doubt that the United States would be victorious. It's just a matter of if Iran will do something to actually hurt America. So far they have not caused any real damage so America has not responded with significant force and I hope it stays that way.

There's plenty of other countries against which the US does nothing, it doesn't mean these countries are strong. In the case of Iran, there's nothing to gain for the US, Iran is just a distraction versus China and Russia. If the US gets sucked into a conflict with Iran, it will be using resources there that would be better kept ready to defend Taiwan. And Iran is just not worth it, in comparison to Taiwan.

Iran has lost control of its proxies, but it can't abandon them without showing itself to be a bad ally and destroying all of its foreign objectives. We have a Defense pact with Saudi Arabia and as FIAT Reserve currency holder it's our responsibility to protect the oil trade as to avert it being held hostage and thus resulting in massive damage to civilization.

@@youngcitybandit This is Iran's game, the world is playing and no it isn't happy. They can close down the Suez whenever they feel like it, and harm the global economy. This is being felt in higher prices for commodities, which results in higher prices for everything. They are also expanding their influence and exert street-level control over even MPs, in places like London. Ignoring this and burying our heads in the sand just means we deal with the issue later on rather than now. By that time they'll be even stronger. They already exert considerable leverage in the Middle East. At this rate, they will control it by the end of the year.
