Brilliantly talented people. Excellent film. “I don’t feel at home in this world anymore” is excellent-directed by Macon Blair and “Hold the Dark” by Jeremy Saulinier. Bot excellent.
I've put off watching Blue Ruin for years because I somehow got the idea it would be pretentious BS. It's so far from that, that now I'm angry at myself for my own pretentiousness in overlooking it for that reason. What an amazing film. It's beautiful to look at, it's absolutely thrilling, it mesmerises you while still allowing you to appreciate each shot and how the motif of the colour blue signifies certain things... I could go on and on. I'm years late, but it's the best film I've seen in years. And now I'm combing IMDB to find other films Saulnier and Blair have done.
Just watched this film again, tone and pacing was great. Visually, it was visceral and superb. Great direction and vision and overall well acted. Macon shines in this one. One can say you can see the film draws inspiration from Coen brother's earlier works and Tarantino-esque minus the talky dialogue
A great movie indeed, great actor.
acting was also unbelievably good
this guy deserves to be a director, movie was amazing. Top notch.
He is now :) im sure he directed a netflix film with elijah wood
@@StalwartShinobi that was Macon Blair. And Jeremy Saulnier has now two more movies and one coming soon.

Visceral film, with some incredibly raw scenes. The acting was superb.
