I once sent a note to her written on a napkin at the now defunct Hamburger Hamlet on Sunset near Doheny and she invited me over to her table to hang out for a little while. She was a magnificent lady and funny as all hell. She had a disarmingly sober view of the industry. In-person, that voice was as infectious as it was on television and in film. She didn't have to give me the time of day but she did and then some. I was lucky to have met her.
AWESOME I bet it was. I'm not a star chaser or never had been. But I would have done the same. I think she's even more attractive than Liz Taylor in her prime.
Oh memories Suzanne and the Hamburger Hamlet on Sunset. I lived behind the 9000 building in the day.She was terrific and was gracious to her fans .
@@billfleming6211 Did you know Jim, one of the waiters who often served Suzanne? I still know him.
I have been to that Hamlet. How lucky you were.
I loved The Hamburger Hamlet Restaurant. I had one of my first date there
That voice...that reassuring, smokey, deep husky voice....I could hear it all day
I still cannot decide whether the deep husky voice adds or detracts from her attractive attributes as an actress or woman.
shes died of lung cancer
Loved that voice
@@JacksonJones-je9uk Yup, it was a smoker's voice.
Suzanne Pleshette is a real treasure.
After saw her in The Birds, i love everything about her. Her voice, her hair, her fashion style, her attitude. Gone too soon...
I had no idea that she was the IT-chef girl in the birds before you wrote this. I definately didnt recognize her
@@christoffersundberg8689 she was the school teacher in the birds.
Old school class that most celebs these days can't comprehend. She could weave a story fabulously.
I miss tv like this
What a charmer she was!!!
Apparently, she really was as much of a stand-up gal as she seemed. Good life, well lived.
She has a very different kind of beauty! Only she has that distinct beauty.
Smart, funny, charming, excellent actress, still very pretty on here - used to be DROP DEAD gorgeous.
I love her voice. She sure is missed.
Smoker's voice. Died of lung cancer at 70, sadly.
OMGWTFLOL Yeah Can’t Believe She Was a Long Time Smoker!
She use to chain smoke, as she got older her voice became more raspy. The same happened to Lucile Ball and Audrey Meadows voice.
DA'KNIGHT38 True and Suzanne Was a Great Actress!
Vince Niederman Yes I loved her on the BN show and also on playing the mother in law, on 8 Simple Rules which was the last TV show she was a regular on.
I adore her laugh. Something about it sounds so right. Makes me want to chuckle.
It was great, but unfortunately a by product of smoking.
@@kennethsouthard6042 She was smokin Hot
Back when evening talk shows were watchable...
D Storm _yup
When adults acted and sounded like adults
Today, talk show hosts are owned by the Democratic Party!
How I miss intelligent conversation on late night television.
Oh you poor, poor babies.
Suzanne Pleshette was a babe in her day.
I loved her so beautiful.💖💖💖💖
I was in my early teens when I had a forever crush on Suzanne when she was 32😍 always and still had a love fore her untill her passing in 2008!
RIP Suzanne with love😍😍
Suzanne was a regular on the Tonight Show . during the 70s & 80s she really looked. classy
God I miss that show. and all the guest and Suzanne Pleshette is one of the best.
I first saw her in Rome Adventure. She was so beautiful with a husky voice! Since then she became my favorite movie star.
Miss Suzanne was a rare Person with Great Dignity and a Talent !
Right up there with her fellow acting buddy Dean Jones. I'm sure their doing their comical skits somewhere in Heaven making Angels laugh.
What a great looking woman!
Gosh ! I so loved Suzanne Pleshette !
The very gorgeous sexy Suzanne Pleshette. The best lady in any movie. So sad to not see her in person anymore. She was a treasure to be with for so many very pleasant years.
Love her voice :)
They are all gone...Love her on the Bob Newhart Show. The final scene in the last episode of The Newhart Show was FANTSTIC!!!
gosh!! This was 41 years ago!!
A true natural beauty. Her voice, from heavy smoking, became raspy, distinctly sexy. It eventually fomented your early demise. What a dynamic personality and alluring actress
Stunning lady, and played a great tv wife to Bob Newhart.
In the show, she played the part of a school teacher. Can you imagine being a student in her class?
I like how she gave Ed equal attention as Johnny.
Suzanne was a dream, including that hairstyle. Can't forget someone this rare and talented. Reminds me of Jimmy Dorsey's version of the song, So Rare (1957). Unforgettable woman.
One of my favorite actresses. She could be funny, romantic, dramatic & her voice was unique in a good way. She was both easy on the eyes, as well as the ears.
Surely one of the most beautiful actresses that ever was. More lovely than Elizabeth Taylor and a great more talented than many today.

I fell in love with her when I was 12
years old and always dreamed that she'd be my girlfriend someday. Being disabled, I was very shy with girls but I could relate to her. I had fantasies of her
being my date to the school dance
and all the kids looking on in disbelief. I'll always love her.
What a classy lady.
Me too! But I think I was ten. I used to sing "I'm getting married to Suzanne Pleshette" kind of as a joke, and my sister would mock me about it. My first of very few celebrity crushes.
She had that girl-next-door quality, both in person and in her roles. Or more accurately, she brought that quality to her roles.
@@gravytopic what tune
did you use for your song? Whatever it was,
you might've had yourself a hit if you would've recorded it. Don't feel too bad though, I felt the same
way. Sure would've been something if one
of us would've made it
that far. I'll be 70 next
year and I still love her.
@@gravytopicwhat a boost that song might've been to the both of you had you recorded that tune!
And, who knows, I might've recorded it too
as I was playing music
back then. Sure would've been something!
She did both drama and comedy well and also seemed to have a good sense of humor in her own capacity . . . .
This type of organic, relaxed conversation doesn’t exist in talk shows anymore. It’s been replaced by contrived, phony dialogue.
Craig Ferguson had it.
What makes a person so attractive? Wide set eyes and perfect facial symmetry.
People with asymmetry and close set eyes can be just as beautiful
@@brookehanley3659 Apparently there is a statistical correlation between facial symmetry and physical health.
I should know, I have a somewhat asymmetric face and have been plagued by I’ll health all of my 60 plus years.
But I’m still alive so shouldn’t complain I guess. Mind you if I was dead already I definitely wouldn’t be complaining.😂
@@brookehanley3659No.
Played a teenager in "A Rage to Live," and she looked great.
She could do the entire show by herself. She doesn't even need Johnny...
Gorgeous.
One of my favorite actresses from when I saw her in Nevada Smith. Major crush!
Sadly her Heavy Smoking, Took her life much to soon May she RIP & is missed by all of her Fans etc.She was Born in Brooklyn, Heights NY According to her Bio.
Most Promising Newcomer..."God knows I didn't live up to that." lol
In her prime Suzanne looked better than Marilyn Monroe
I don't think she was as screwed up psychologically, That's for sure
I agree 100%
Anybody else notice Johnny inadvertently playing with his finger as he introduces her ?
Well, you would, wouldn't you?
I would've.
Class lady!
I saw her on an episode of Columbo. Her voice was much higher. Smoking must have affected her voice quite a bit.
Excellent point
A Rage to Live, great movie she did in the 60's, love her
MOM! (Seriously my late Mother was the spittin image of Suzanne and just as sassy)
I'm sorry about your Mom, but I'm glad my Mom isn't the spittin image of Suzanne. I have enough problems w/o dealing with an Oedipus complex!
You and I must have had the same mother. Lol I just mentioned to someone that this video gives me the feeling that my mother is being interviewed, if I turn down the sound. They could be twins.
I,M in love... what a woman.. !!!
I love her, too...and I never am in love with a woman...only men...lol
I loved them both, those gawd damn cigarettes killed them too early
Smoked for many years at the time when it seemed harmless at first. That was always a big mistake that claimed a lot of Hollywood legends like her, Dean Jones, Yul Brynner, and many others.
"If I could change one thing about myself, it would be the smoking. I always wanted to do a commercial that says now that I'm gone my advice to you is don't smoke. Whatever you do don't ever smoke." - Yul Brynner final interview before passing away.
EL GRECO 777 Can you please explain your comment? On the surface it seems like an insipid and very stupid response to anti smoking comments. Are you claiming that smoking is OK as long as one is not obese? Anyone downplaying the most preventable cause of premature death has their head buried deeply in their backsides.
A.What is the single most preventable cause of death in the US?
Tobacco use is the single most preventable cause of disease, disability, and death in the United States, yet more deaths are caused each year by tobacco use than by all deaths from human immunodeficiency virus (HIV), illegal drug use, alcohol use, motor vehicle injuries, suicides, and murders combined.

@@mkaplan1383 William tallman (the prosecutor on Perry Mason) also did a public service address, that wasn't released until after he died- at his request.
The play in question is “Special Occasions” by Bernard Slade (“Same Time, Next Year”), directed by Gene Saks (“Brighton Beach Memoirs”).
Her voice and Julie London's voice. Ah, sigh.....
The shoulders ... I wonder what decade this is..
This is the era that Joe Biden is from. Can you imagine nowadays if Johnny Carson or Ed didn't want to be kissed, or Suzanne was tired of feeling obligated to kiss them? Ed didn't want his arm to be clutched like that. It was an era when friends weren't terrified of showing each other physical affection without repercussions.
Suzanne was so sexy hot Jewish woman
Biden took it a little further than that under the excuse he was being "affectionate", kind of like Andrew Cuomo, used it as an excuse to grope & cop a feel.
@@frankpaya690 your making a fool of yourself and taking my comment out of context. I feel sorry for you
Amen to that! People are something else these days.
What does creepy Biden have to do with this? And incidentally, the three here happened to be friends off set.
My god she was hot.
Her last Marriage was to Tom Postom, TV Star etc
Apparently someone she meet earlier life and they married after being bereaved . . . .
She's hot.
Smoke much? But i miss them both!
She has such beautiful hair! Why the hair style? Why do women with beautiful hair pull it up so it can't be seen?
Because the pulled back hair emphasizes the face and in particular, the cheekbones. Pulling it off just right can make a girl look thinner as well.
I have long brown hair but usually wear it up because I don't really like it in my face.
Heavy smoker
I really wish she didn't smoke so much :(
I always thought she was a way hotter than Lynda Carter
Very Husky voice.
The many cigarettes that she was chain smoking really messed with her vocal chords.
Her voice was not as husky in the early 70's
But by 1980 she sounded weird.
Close to the end of her life, I sat at dinner with her. Her voice was strong and she was engaging beyond measure and didn’t find she sounded weird.
shes 1 good looking jew
Is she wesring a bra?
I don't think so, I detected some jiggle. She was a sexy lady.
That should not matter to you.
And yet it does, hsrdwired i guess.
@@shivasirons6159Just from that you get hardwired? 😉
