- In their salute to All-Things: Award Shows, Trio devotes a segment to Susan Lucci's long streak of losses at the Daytime Emmy Awards. The Queen of Soap Operas FINALLY won in 1999 (and looked fabulous as always).
Erica Kane, you were always Loved (and hated?). And Susan Lucci, you are a Legend.
Most people probably couldn’t tell you who won every year she lost. All they remember is her losing again. I feel bad for those Actresses because they got overshadowed by the fact that Susan lost again.

In 1996 TV Guide's cover story was: "You heard it here first! This is her year." It was a phenominal performance by Lucci that year when Erica became addicted to pain pills. My friend and I attended the event as it was the first year they began selling tickets for soap opera fans to attend. I was so excited! The prediction by TV Guide was wrong unfortunately and I was devestated. But three years later it finally happened. (I still think she was absolutely robbed in 1996 as did everyone!)

Ironically as soon as she won, the raiting for the emmys went right down. It became more about "will she win" than about all the very talented women who did win.
I think Susan will admit that there were a lot of deserving actresses who deserved Emmy's but seh certainly deserved a few. Sheprobably deserves good karma and success. Unlike anyother day time star she respected the genre and stayed with it. Unlike others who left and came back she did her night time appearances while still keeping her daytime role. Nothing against Emma Samms, Deidre Hall,Kristian Alfonso, Finola Hughes et al Susan never suggested daytime was astepping stone or somethingless. When she did Dallas she still did AMC likewise all those tv movies whichI believe each and everyone was at least top 20 pretty impressive - she would have been up against Jaclyn Smith, Farrah Fawcett, et al the night time stars.
She should have won every single time she was nominated. And there were several years she should have been nominated and wasn’t. She should have won those years, too. It was jealousy on the part of those voting in that category, and the powers that be wanting to drive ratings by having people wonder when would she finally win. In all honesty, what they did to her was cruel. She’s one of the kindest, most down to earth people and didn’t deserve to be treated like that.
I had the privilege of meeting her way back in 1988. She was an absolute doll!
@@kjnodwell It always makes me so happy to hear this! It’s my dream to meet her one day. Everyone I’ve ever spoken to who has met her talks about how sweet she is.
That’s not true. She was up against powerhouse actresses like Erika Slezak and Kim Zimmer who were the best in the genre.
I definitely have to disagree with this. While susan is a outstanding actress. She was up against Erika, Slezak and Kim Zimmer and Susan Flannery. That’s tough competition and I’m sorry they absolutely deserve to win the years that they won.
@@LILM-zn7uy Susan Lucci’s fans idolise her so they can’t be objective when it comes to this subject. They simply dismiss that other actresses in the category could have given more award worthy performances. It’s futile trying to debate the point because they refuse to accept it.

I stop watching by then I just got tired of her losing she one best actress and they went on too long her not winning
That man that said “I saw her act and they couldn’t give it to her,” or something like that, how dare he! How dare he. You can’t act, sir. He was clearly playing Nintendo when he was home sick, not watching All my Children. Look Steve or whatever your name is, go watch sports. That guy.
