Saving beautiful 100 year old Fir flooring from the landfill

Welcome back to the wood shop! We have been making a lot of progress in the build out and renovation of our new storefront in our old building. We needed to cover a section of the floor that had originally been a staircase opening, of which we framed in and re-sheeted. I was given a load of vertical grain fir flooring that was removed from a 100 year old home by a contractor friend of mine about a year ago. After a few passes through the drum sander this flooring started to show some signs of its original beauty. The flooring in our building is the same fir flooring and its matched up perfectly!
