    A few things to point out:
    1 - Thank you for the censor, I would have cracked up!
    2 - I like the evolution of your videos.... Your goofy side is fun to watch.
    3 - You have a lot of credibility in what you do because of your meticulous attention to details.
    I loved this idea because like you I have the same size dog and being that she recently broke her front leg, this design is very nice and opened my mind to similar ideas. Thanks for this bud.

    This video remembered me of the first an only discussion with my girlfriend about the question,if a dog is allowed to enter bed or couch? Guess who lost that discussion? So I had to build a ramp to the bed too.Good job mate.Great content.Keep it up.

      Hahaha yeah. I didn’t want the one in bed at first, now there are three. I lost that as well.

    I've done cuts like that too. I now have a new saw as the piece of wood flicked around and smashed the fence. Lesson learned, just make an angle cutting jig for the table saw

    Sorry brother, definitely not safe! I’m glad nothing bad happened, but a mitre saw is not for rip cuts.. I’ve learned that the hard way.
    Cool project though and I’m glad to see another video up. Your workshop layout tips are going to come in handy as my shop is just about done being built! See you in the next one!

      Miter saw blades are both rip and cross cut.
      To make it safer just put a piece of wood across the two miter saw fences and you’ll be fine

    Absolutely outstanding! Wowowow!!! How do I buy one? 🤔

  • @FearsomeWarrior
    @FearsomeWarrior 3 роки тому

    Doggies! Dog ramps for bed and couches has been on my list for months now. Just want the kind that is a straight ramp with adjustable height like a chase lounge. Had the carpet in a corner for a couple months lol
    The miter saw that cut is viable but I’d have just hand/circular/jig saw and run it on jointer or sander to clean it up. Always multiple ways to do it. Even running it on table saw in a sled probably easy enough too.
    I think the repeat trim carpenter trick would be to cut a board at 45 then clamp both sides down with the mouth open making a 90 degree area to lock in wood squares under the blade. It backs the wood slightly better but meh for one cut.

    I started to make a cut like that but just could not feel good about the overall safety, so I used a tapering jig instead, but that's just me I suppose. Loved the concept and the build tutorial.

    • @RingsWorkshop
      @RingsWorkshop  3 роки тому

      Tapering jig is on my to do list, great point!

  • @PawPawsClan
    @PawPawsClan 3 роки тому

    Nice Job on the project. I would have make the cut. Clamped down, is it really that much different than an angled cut on the miter as far as grain is concerned? I think the biggest issue is support.

    • @RingsWorkshop
      @RingsWorkshop  3 роки тому

      Thank you. Yeah it being a longer piece a lot was hanging off, but I was holding it and clamp was holding majority of the weight. If it was a large board it may be different, but it wasn’t trying to pull away or anything since they weren’t very wide boards, the weight was minimal.

    • @RingsWorkshop

      Never made plans for this, didn’t think there would be much demand, you’re the first one to ask for them. I can get you the dimensions if that helps. I think I have some of that laying around somewhere.

    • @3s-Woodworking
      @3s-Woodworking Рік тому

      @RingsWorkshop That would be awesome. It's a different design concept then the normal plywood hinge ramp or adjustable ramp using dowels and think it's a better space saver.

    Put a "bad boy band" on the one peeing on your clothes ! It wraps around them, & is washable.
    Also, use a "black light" flashlight to make sure you get all the stains out with a product that "breaks down" the urine, versus just covers the scent !

    • @RingsWorkshop
      @RingsWorkshop  3 роки тому +1

      He doesn’t do it very often, and it’s been a while, but that was the thought process. I’ve used a few products with the black light throughout the house. When you have two cats and three dogs, busting that light out always gives me a bit of anxiety hahaha

    I'm going to say that cut falls in the sketchy category. I've done it and it didn't go as well. Scared the piss out of me, but did not hurt myself.
