Cited as the first group to follow in the Babymetal style of Kawaii Metal, Ladybaby garnered over 1 million views in less than 24hrs across all platforms with this song! Richard Magarey, aka Ladybeard, is from Australia and had moved to Hong Kong to work as a Martial Arts stuntman and was in several movies but on the side he started doing Pro Wrestling and developed his 5yr old Little Girl persona of Ladybeard. After moving to Japan he gained even more popularity and was offered this project and it just took off!! Unfortunately, Ladybeard left the group in August 2016 citing Visa issues but Rei and Rie continued on as "The Idols Formerly Known As Ladybaby" and produced several more songs. Then in late 2017 Rei left to rejoin her sister in their old group called "Brats". In January 2018, Rie reformed the group with 3 new members and brought back the original name of Ladybaby. This third iteration was arguably the most successful with multiple charting songs and television appearances and a much wider touring schedule. Unfortunately, in September 2019 the group announced that they would cease operations after their final performance on January 13th, 2020. Ladybaby never received the acclaim that Babymetal did and too many did to them what they tried to do to Babymetal...write them off as a Gimmick. In the process they missed out on some really fun music and videos. Ladybeard went on to form another group called "Deadlift Lolita" and currently has a new group called "Babybeard". Rie went on to do some modeling and started a solo Idol act called "Ilie". Emily, one of the new girls in Ladybaby and their "Growler" has since joined the group "Passcode" replacing former member Yuna. Wow. Another cool reaction. This song is so fun. It always gives you smiles. This was a unique band...in the beginning. I think you have to watch their latest videos such as "Starless_Sky".
