I know somebody who seems to play the Dutch every game (just like some people play the Sicilian all the time). Now I got to remember this gambit to try on him :P.
Because he had a grand master level understanding of position and tactics, and it was the correct play. Rules like "it is inadvisable to castle to a side on which your pawns are in disarray" are for most....not all situations, They are meant to be broken when the situation calls for such.
+JamesLinton17 It brought the King Rook to the half-open f-file, aiming at f7, which the King Bishop was also aiming at. And if the White Queen ever arrives at h5, she will ALSO be aiming at f7. As for White's King, with what is Black going to attack it with? His bottled up Queen side pieces?
Amazing that gambit… Botvinik was a wonderful player
Always fantastic games, thx , nice elction of botvinnik, making us know his games. thx
Beautiful game Mato!
Another awesome upload from Mato.
Very interesting. Like so many of the great ones, Botvinnik seems to go into battle with more ammunition than the other guy.
And where is 1927?
Baby Blue 1927 is in history books :)

very interesting game!
Games of Botvinnik v. Tal are quite interesting.
The Staunton Gambit worked, but there is the possibility for Black to play first e6 and then to play the Dutch.
The whole game was a smoking gun.
And where is Russia?
I invariably play the Staunton in blitz. Nobody seems to know it.
Only when the K is attacked, Kotas (from a year ago).
Why did White castle kingside? I thought it wasn't a good idea to castle if you had already pushed the pawns, you were going to castle behind?

and where is history book?
+Slobodan Draca history book is on a shelf in the library
what kind of gambit is it?
I thought it's illegal to castle when king or rook is attacked. My whole life was a lie.
Rules are applied on king not on the rook
King path should be safe for castle
Black should play defensive due to less development
I hate the dutch i never win
