What I love about your videos, Mato, is you waste very little time getting to the action. Every piece of information is needed and/or, adds to the exquisite ambiance you established to present the game. You and Maurice Ashley are the best presenters of chess games, in my opinion, and if people want to debate that, you two are certainly, my favorites. Thank you, Sir, and keep up the tremendous work.
This is like paying an extra coin at the circus to see the freak show. What a thrill to see one chess legend checkmate another chess giant. Alekhine dominates the game with precision and predatory instinct...what a beast.
i know im asking randomly but does anybody know a way to get back into an instagram account?? I somehow forgot the password. I would love any tricks you can offer me!
O!M!G! What a game! Could hardly stand the excitement and didn't know for sure that Alekhine would pull it of. Brilliant game, brilliantly commented. I came here from Jan Gustafsson's analysis of Yi vs Carlsen, Bilbao. That game have some of the same qualities and Jan is also a very nice, and funny commentator, thogh not as hilariously funny as Mato. But the again, who is? Carlsen also worked hard to bring Yi quickly out of preparation and that endgame was extremely thrilling, too. Thank you, MJ
Indeed that end game ( Carlson v Yi ) is complicated and tense. An entertaining and intricate end game ...I hope Mato does a video, but, then again, there are so many good games out there.
+MatoJelic Hi Mato, I have become a huge fan of Alexander Alekhine after watching your videos. Mikhail Tal and Paul Keres are my idols too. But I'm really enjoying Alekhine's videos nowadays. They are a great source of study and learning. Although Alekhine's tactical play is well recognized universally, he was a master of positional play as well. The match between Alekhine vs Tartakower (1927) signifies his mastery of the chess board. A true magician!
Great playing, great channel. Present day grand masters same as present day pianists only walk on solid well trodden ground. General competence, but no real creativity or poesy.
Mato, is there any notes Rubenstein had for this game? He wanted to take that pawn so bad with his King but maybe there was a better move that wouldn't have put him in a position to be checkmated?
What a brilliant game by Alekhine..He was really the GREATEST of all time...In tactics, Strategy , New concepts & innovations ( like Alekhine block , Alekhine defence , Alekhine gun etc..
Feels sad to see one legend fall to another legend :(. But this was a fantastic and a very entertaining game! Really enjoyed this game. Alekhine played all the strange moves, which I'm guess was to confuse Rubinstein and waste all his preperation. Rubinstein didn't make any terrible moves as far as I can tell, Alekhine was just too good. Mato will you be commentating on the latest Carlsen vs Wei Yi game? I've heard it was fantastic.

As a UA-cam commenter, I appreciate that Rubinstein was not a quitter!
Mato, thank you so very much for the excellent analysis of these games! I find them instructive and entertaining.

Finally, a GM game with checkmate at the end. Surprise!

@Luka Elliot Instablaster =)
'Alekhine was in a hurry, and anxious to have some lunch!' Love Mato's commentaries.
“When you find a good move, look for a better one” is the perfect description of this match’s endgame.
Alexander Alekhine, Master or rather Grand Master of combinations who has no match either in the past or present!!!

I didnt expect CheckMato :)
Somptueux!
Giants!
one of the best games I have ever seen
I had fun watching this game!
This game is BEAUTIFUL
Interesting game, Alekhine playing cat and mouse variation.
I think, Rubinstein was running out his time so he can not think clearly and straight then acted carelessly and made a fatal mistake
What a bizarre game. However, the endgame was instructive.
These kinds of games should be well studied and studied in order to become a strong player.
What a game!
A beautiful checkmate
Rubinstein played like a Patzer. But then again he is up against Alekhine.
Mato - I hope Alekhine-Capa WC games are coming soon :D
Nice Game..:)
Thanks Mato..:)

Chess becomes story in your voice ...

Not many games between grandmasters are played until checkmate indeed!

Rubenstein was in time trouble.
brilliant!
Amazing!
Hello Mato , can you represent the game Nakamura vs Carslen , when Naka won the match
I think white missed check mate or at least wining blacks queen in minute 5:40 with Qf6....Please correct me if im wrong.
mmm black losses only bishop then
All Mato's videos are "must see".
Who else was expecting "White.... Played a move... And Black... resigned"Surprise! "White to move... And to checkmate in 1"
What do I think ! I wish I was better. Just a little bit better.
I first thought that Alekhine would use his pawn on h6 to end the game
I feel violated
Wwwwowww!!
At 4' why not knight takes Bishop?
1. Fischer, 2. Alekhine
Rubenstein conceded with the loss of the exchange. Merely technique at the endgame. Alekhine was far above his peers at this time.
Not so. It is possible to hold a draw with the exchange down if you have advantages in other areas.
Alekhine too strong, pushing the right moves. But if I was Rubenstein i would not give the exhange rook for bishop
orlin its okay for that but alekhine was to strong
I want a game where alekhine lose!! please :P
he did upload 1 against francisco perez perez
:)
whites black square bishops debut...)))) he moved several times in the opening, and made blacks position bad )))))
I'm the 69th viewer XD
