@@AllWingsEverything We are living in a Golden Age of Bourbon (and Rye) these days. Dozen-probably hundreds-of good ones. Zelda made some good recommendations. Maker's is sometimes looked down on because it is a very big brand, not a little boutique, but it is a very solid Bourbon to try to see if you like them at all. Not terribly expensive often on sale, and widely available both in stores and in bars/restaurants. Knob Creek is another one. They make some limited, more expensive bottles, but their "regular" Bourbon or Rye are both good. Jim Beam Double Black is another solid bottle at a reasonable price. If you try some of these and none of them tickle your nose (aroma is an important part of good whiskey) or palate, well, maybe you're just not a Bourbon guy and that's perfectly fine. If one or more of them starts to grow on you, there are plenty more to try, some surprisingly inexpensive for the quality, some more pricey, and a few that you will need a second mortgage to buy. If you have a friend who is a whiskey drinker, maybe you can sample theirs, and if you know a bartender in a good cocktail bar, he/she can help a lot, as can a knowledgeable employee at a good liquor store. Try them straight, on the rocks, or in classic cocktails like Old Fashioneds or Manhattans. Have fun exploring! Don't forget to save some for the wings! 😀
Dave thanks for this info. I'm definitely a alcohol drinker...does that sound good..lol! But I'm more of a Rum and Brandy drinker. When it comes to whiskey I'm only do Jack Daniel and Crown Royal pretty much. But I'm going to try your recommendation.
