Not to be gay or any weird shit but I think I want to give Ben a hug. You’re a good dude, kind heart and seem real to the damn point. Glad you chose not to do that. Love you man.

Nothing wrong with that bro. I tell my best friends the same thing because they are family to me. Where Ben went with that showed a side, we (or at least I) didn't know. It showed his sincerity and that under that cool dude personality, is a regular dude living a life.
Props to you for highlighting it and thanks to Ben for sharing a vulnerable time.
      Tight lines brothers!

When you mention that fisherman here in America need to enjoy the experience more and I agree! I also fly fish and the appreciation that fly fishermen have for every little thing from the smallest of fish to the 5 mile hike, besides a few elitist😵‍💫. In the bass realm we need to appreciate more instead of constantly focusing on just catching and not noticing the small things.

Supply/demand. The demand was so much greater than the supply. Hence created the monster money grabbers you have today. Started out just to fill the supply gap. Then transformed into this knockoff cash grab we have today. Just like the rods and reels. People want what they want yesterday.if its not enough supply to fill demand. Someone will step up and fill it. So we are part of the problem ourself. 🤔 Just my opinion.

Guys, great watch! Love the Hook Up and the different options you provide. But one thing you are either missing or just skipping by intentionally is the fact that we cannot get enough of these Japanese products into the American market. Sorry but if people cannot get their hands on enough new Jackall drift fries…. Well, you know the deal…. Someone is going to step in and fill the void. Not sure it’s fair to not allow Americans to fish some of this fine JDM simply because there is not enough of it out there for us. I ordered quite a bit of JDM tackle strait form Japan cause even yuh Gus can’t keep it in stock. So, companies are going to do what people also want them to do and make a comparable product so we can all use it and experiment with it. I do hate the knock off game in fishing, but I do think a major issue that is overlooked is the fact that you can’t get your hands on some of this JDM products. Just saying.

Why can't this place be in the Northeast Coast. It's so depressing having every single shop just sell everything down to nothing. You can't stock up and get ready for the next season until March or April. The east coast needs a real tackle shop like this where the people who run it actually love the sport and realize the season never ends. You boys have taken far too much of my money. You carry what we can't at the shop I work at. Keep it up gentlemen.

The thing that bothers me most nowadays is everyone’s willingness to call everything a knockoff. It feels like a lot of ppl are willing to call something a knockoff without any knowledge or research done on the product. Unless it’s a company they support therefore they are willing to call it “something a little different” as long as it fits their agenda. I hate true knockoffs but I think it’s gone a little overboard in the other direction where ppl are willing to call everything a knockoff.

A little late to post but I gotta say that Geoff’s philosophy on what can be exploited in Japan is on point. Tracking studies done here in the states, albeit none of record class fish, show that fish will respond to pressure by relocating. In a huge lake, it’s a promising idea that there will be populations that are occupying areas where most anglers aren’t fishing. Good shit guys, I’m stoked for Geoff and I look forward to following his trajectory.

Hey, don’t forget that the American companies 50 years ago were the innovative companies that were coming up with new things and building quality stuff unfortunately over 50 years of lure saturation it’s diluted that massively Japan’s a new bass fishing industry for the most part they haven’t been around 50 6070 years so America was the original innovators

In Japan, there are bass anglers only using top water lures. Sometimes handmade gigantic baits only (pretty insane how big these top water lures are), sometimes Vintage Heddon only. They don't catch much, but it's the joy of it. I have a friend making lures there professionally. He doesn't make that much money off of it, but he enjoys "kaizen"-ing his baits and that's how life should be. It's not about numbers.
BTW, my top recommendation fishing in Japan is Lake Ashi. Beautiful view of Shrine and Mt.Fuji. There are some giants there, too.

Thank you Ben for sharing your story, I can totally relate to being in a dark place. I’m so glad you didn’t give up!
I was wondering if you guys would be willing to create playlists for the different types of videos you guys make. You guys have so many great videos that cover a wide spectrum of content, and having them broken down into different playlists would help all of us find the videos that fall into a certain category.
I think this would help more people see how amazingly diverse the content on this channel is. It would be great to be able to find all of the: podcasts , what’s new this week (WNTW), 1v1, bait/technique specific, gear specific, etc.
Sorry if this is an annoying comment, I just have a lot of faith in what you guys are doing, and want everyone to know.
