NREMT doesn't have a skill specifically for a sling, but they do have joint immobilization, and it does say there to check PMSC's prior and post procedure. Remember, you will not be dinged for assessing the patient more than what is required, so if you think it may be useful, do it. For a fractured humerus bone (upper arm). You could also use this technique for a posterior (rear) shoulder injury (where technically the injury is aimed towards the rear). The only difference there would be that you wouldn't tie the cravat over the injured shoulder. You would take one end of the cravat and loop it in between the arm and body and bring it around the back and tie it off with the opposite end of the cravat on the uninjured side.
Good review no matter how long you've been doing it. Great, simple demonstration.
Excellent technique. I am happy to see that you demonstrate and explain the necessity of padding the neck. Great video. Thank you for posting.
hi randy white I like the way you demonstrate the sling and swath very clear and simple I would like to learn more from your video
Sweet music and great demonstration! 😄👍🏼🤕
Do you have to check PMSC before and after for sling and swathe?

Great video. Thanks.
what type of injury would you use this for??

We were told moving the arm like you did is a critical fail for "gross movement of the injured arm"
What is that intro song?
