Thank you for the video. It’s easy to learn in a classroom without someone playing injured. It was very helpful.Thank you so much for this much simple video explaining this well!
Thank you for making a simple video to show what to do for someone until you can get them to the ER, The doctor or wherever so the patient does not do more damage by using the arm. It’s easy to learn in a classroom without someone playing injured. The best place to learn is in the field on patients who of course are not in a life threatening situation because it will also help you judge the level of pain and help with swelling. CPR should be required in every school and then updated. My mother would not be here today if I had not learned CPR. The Ambulance crew, the doctor and nurses in the ER and the surgeon all told me that if I had not started it while calling 911 and waiting for them to arrive, she would not have needed to ambulance at all! If you have people you love and want to keep around.... learn it! It’s the best thing you can ever do.
There is so much more important things for people to remember and practice such as cpr, medications etc that this stuff falls to the back burner and gets forgotten.
What a great video. Here I am in other part of the world being saved by your video. May God bless everyone that got involved in the making and uploading of this video ❤
Thank you so much. I got my red cross training two years ago and now I have forgot most of those things as I had to focus on my school even more. Now I'm after exam person, I have to get my knowledge back. Thank you so much for this much simple video explaining this well!
Excellent video, an elevated sling is the one I am unsure of and this explains it very well. One minor gripe, the presenter says to use a reef knot, and then proceeds to tie a much inferior granny knot.
Great video. I would say that it would be helpful to have a quick mention of which way the longest straight side of the triangle is placed. It would be easy for people to see this and get confused or forget unless it is pointed out.
The one crucial piece of info I needed was the orientation of the bandage as it is first applied and that is hard to see from this video. Which way up is the bandage for the elevation sling?
Thanks I just did this on my child she stopped crying took her to ER they didn’t do anything but X-ray she still won’t move her arm. But now the splint stopped her from crying
Useful video but need to be clearer in the demonstration of which way around you are holding the sling. Ie which way the triangle point is facing. Thanks though.
According to my ex-military Duke of Edinburgh instructor, the most important person in a first aid situation is always yourself, so I guess it doesn't matter too much to you.
Hi there. In some cases, a sling may not be required - they are only used temporarily for relief of pain/to rest the joint. We would suggest following the advice of any Health Professionals you have seen so far - otherwise which ever sling makes the joint more comfortable. With some shoulder injuries, some people find that a sling which enables the fingers of the injured side to touch the opposite shoulder, can allow the shoulder to fall into a more natural position and thus provide more comfort and support. Hope that helps!
I had to make my own cause my mom was busy and my dad is idk why he couldn't do it (I fell down the stairs last night ) my dad is the kind of person that looked at my toe it was blue and huge(I broke it)and he said walk it off
Teck Siang Kuan Press the casualty’s thumbnail until it turns yellow, and release, the bloody red colour should come back to the thumb in just two secs. It’s called capillary refill btw

Every paramedic who has ever had a student with them, ever. For the record, I have been that student! Best place to learn!
There is so much more important things for people to remember and practice such as cpr, medications etc that this stuff falls to the back burner and gets forgotten.
Then they sling the wrong arm….

is a granny knot a dead knot??
i dont know but the reef knot is similar (or the same idk) as a dead knot. its just how you untie it
I'm studying for an international red cross competition and I always had a problem with slings so this helped me quite a lot
Cool that helps a lot actually. For a while I actually forgot how to apply a cloth sling. Thank you for the information.

Been a medic 21 years worked with a emt that could put these on neat and perfect, I tried other night it was a mess but I got it on 😅

Was also told if they are wearing a shirt with buttons down the front.. just pop their hand in between the fastened buttons .. if u have no sling
This was a very informational video thank you for making this
Thanks I just did this on my child she stopped crying took her to ER they didn’t do anything but X-ray she still won’t move her arm. But now the splint stopped her from crying

And you don't ask the casualty if the armsling is comfortable or need to be raised???

Could have done with what size of cloth to start with, (in measurements).

I would tie a knot in the bottom corner first if I were you. Thank you for the video.
I have found it useful but the only problem is, is that she is going a bit fast. That's what I think. Don't know about anyone else
Nazifa Ali you can simply slow it down.

The arm should be touching the shoulder!? Then why was she touching her elbow

The second time around she tied a granny knot not a reef knot so this is fake news
