Zman version is the one to get! Great camels and beautiful production. The new camels are light and feel cheap ;(. Owned both, but I kept my Zman version ;) You can actually hear the "click" of the cheap plastic in the video.
This game is simply unbeatable in terms of deep, engrossing, interactive gameplay - and it only takes a half hour with four players! Still, I think I prefer my Z-man games version.
This game is exhausting. You have to think deeply all the time. The first time I played it, we all agreed: That is a great game. Now let us play something else.
i hear you. At first, you have a map with coloured lill camel, a short rulebook and you expect a light family game... But.. it's a reiner Knizia's game (phD in mathematics..) that won the "spiel des jarhes" in 1998. No wonder yuo will inexpected depth under your camel feet. But still, you can play it with kids or you can put some brain into it to play with adults. It also depends on your opponents.. Are they prone to block you or contest territories or are they willing to developp in their corner, just trying to do a better job than yourself... Different players different feelings, really (although the game ultimately push you to challenge other players).
Jeffra, I don't think we've ever played Through the Desert on GameNight. The copy we've had for years hasn't been pulled out in forever. We really do love the game though. Thanks for the note and for watching -Lincoln
@@boardgamegeek that’s so wild because I’ve never played it but definitely have watched it played. Only two game playing shows I have been watching were Tabletop with Wil Wheaton and when that finished I found Game Night! Soooo strange… Anyway, I’m glad you’ve played it now to share with us!

Relationship Tightrope is a trick-taker, unlike Battle Line or ST. I have BL, and prefer it without the Tactics cards.

That's the case with great, amazing games with depth. They are not for everybody and it's ok. There's always Munchkin and Uno to play.

Wow too many colors to distinguish, they should've begun by saying which one they picked (i think dave's is off white)
