So your interested in a Holywood movie about Homo Erectus and/or some of the animals it might have encountered are you? I can help you with that. How do we get in touch?
Excellent presentation without being stuffy or assuming your audience is stupid. Instead it is well researched, visually beautiful, informative and humorous. I love your channel.

Wow both of these guys do a video together which I've been waiting to see and I like watching each of their videos since they do terrific videos on prehistoric subjects.
Both have great content but very different styles. It’s great to see them teaming up. Honestly even if they posted separately on the same topic, I’d still watch both videos. Keep up the great work gentlemen!
@North02 I would love to see a docuseries or even dramatic series set during this era. Following a tribe of homoerectus through different tasks and trials of life seems fascinating. Filling in gaps of knowledge with some educated possibilities seems intriguing (wood tools, communication, housing, movement, interaction with other primates, etc.) This is a great starting point for anything like that. Hopefully you can connect with someone in the production world. Keep asking fans!!
Another fascinating and informative video from North02! I suspect it was Homo erectus that first uttered the maxim: You don't have to be faster than the (insert predator's name here); you just have to be faster than your companions!
Not really. There have been more Homo sapiens alive all time than homo erectus despite having much shorter history. Also homo erectus was never able to kind of escape nature like we have
Two kinds of evidence point independently to the origin of _Homo ergaster/erectus_ as the time when cooking began. First, anatomical changes related to diet, including the reduction in tooth size and in the flaring of the rib cage, and they fit the theory that the nutritional quality of the diet improved and the food consumed was softer. Second, the loss of traits allowing efficient climbing marked a commitment to sleeping on the ground in half-dome shelters made of branches and twigs that is hard to explain in the African woodlands or savannah without the control of fire.
I think the movie concept would be awesome, especially with North02's perspective. Someone needs to bring that to life! Thanks for another awesome video ❤
@North02 Thank you for making this video and collaborating with @ExtinctZoo. I like to see creators working together, making it feel more like a community of intellectual artists. I look forward to the next video, but for now, I’ll rewatch your earlier work. Grazie mille!!
Honestly i dont care what your next video is going to be about because i know i will enjoy it! you have such a good voice and beautiful pacing that always makes your videos such a pleasure to watch! i especially enjoy watching while i knit, makes it extra cozy :)
It sucks that amazing content creators like this exist but mind slop like the Pauls or Jack Doherty is what kids watch. Learning is so cool and interesting what a phenomenal channel this is!
This was such a great vid, and so well told (as always). Also loved how you had another youtuber on and the album recommendation at the end. Will defo check them both out. And I really hope someone DOES make a film/book about this time period hey! Maybe you should just write a script and see where it goes!!
As a storyteller myself, there's obviously plenty of material in paleontology for good storytelling. There's a lot of difficulties with this, among them how to present dialogue. A lot of internal 'dialogue' (the character 'thinking') is a narrative killer. What would the plot line be? It's not enough to just have a survival story with lots of action, there needs to be some through-line that carries the audience along, although in today's market, plot seems to be subservient to digitally-created action, so maybe I'm wrong there. When writing a story that takes place in a wholly unfamiliar environment, like in fantasy and S/F, the writer has to 'explain' things. I would offer the example of Herbert's DUNE series, where he introduces many technologies and many human 'races' that have to be explained. This is usually done through the technique of having a 'naive' character that is for some reason not familiar with the world being presented (frequently a youth, or a human coming to an alien planet, or a foreigner) so that the author can use his characters to 'explain' those plot devices and technologies to this 'newbie'. Not easy to pull off without falling into a hundred pitfalls. In DUNE, for example, because Paul goes to another planet, the inhabitants of that planet can 'explain' things to Paul, and thus to the reader. And Paul can 'explain' things about the Empire to them. The most important thing a writer can learn to do elegantly is how to use dialogue to 1) develop character, 2) further the plot, and 3) provide 'backstory' and 'info dumps' for the audience. That being said, I'd love to see something a bit better than QUEST FOR FIRE, although that is, to my knowledge, the best try so far. Hope the entertainment industry hears you and gives you a call. (And a big development check!)
Wonderful, as always! I so enjoy your presentation, also your orientation to us modern apes and the passage of time for all that came before. In short, your work brings it to life in sensory ways I've not experienced since childhood. Or rather, early childhood. Been attempting to share it ever since.
Although I'm entralled - no overstatement - by your videos of the distant human past, it was the very recent human present that made me take you up on your offer for Ground News. Thank you!

Hey north 02 I have a suggestion for a future video. I love this series by the way, I would love for you to do one on the first settlers of Australia and parts of the south pacific since many of the animals their were quite unique.
Love your videos, been watching for a while; maybe you could post the metric measurements on screen when you say the American ones, or the other way around. Thanks, I love it.
“Due to video length” bro DROWN US, I hate UA-cam for pushing shorter video’s I absolutely love it when they get longer and longer and just cover practically speaking entire ecosystem and their believed interactions in life

Long and deep videos are needed to cover the subject of erectus
