I've got a 7' Avid Surf w/Diawa Certate 4K and a 8' Avid Surf w/Diawa Certate 5K...they're my finesse setups exclusively used for salt water. The heavier surf stuff are Legends, mostly medium to heavy with Gen1 Penn Torque5-7 Bailless, or Diawa Saltiga 14K. I own enough gear to take two buddies fishing and give them each a surf bag.
@@chazt4863 It's amazing. There isn't a rod that matches it, unless you're talking about the really top-top tier super-expensive rods. St Croix's warranty is second to none, especially those "top-top tier" rods I mentioned. If perchance you break it being stupid, St. Croix has your back. I don't have a bad thing to say about it. It's a premium American-made surf rod and it fishes like one.
goodmorning to you i just found your channel in the coments i had to give you a sub i hope it helps love to you and yours frome paul in p.a a fellow starter youtuber
If you do 20lb braid it just gives you the little extra comfort but hey I love the lighter "tackle". I've got 10lb braid on my lightest 7ft setup and use 20-30lb leader and is wonderful as long as you know what your doing and you use your drag right as well.
Thank you for the tips and video. Have you had any experience with the rebel jumpin minnow or albie snax? Seems like those lures would fit into the "finesse" category.
Hi man nice video, question about the st croix surf rods seage specifically for the 9 foot ML and M I have a 6000k shimano reel what is the best rod for this reel? And do you know how much they weigh?
All the specs should be on the St croix rods website. But it really depends on what you plan on targeting with the rods. Most likely the feel of a 6000 shimano would be better on the ML, but then you limit yourself to the size of the lures you use.
