They had the coolest camo ever!😊
Great presentation always, thank you.
Fantastic content
I can remember seeing a few examples of these in my local Army Surplus as a Child alongside old Field Grey Gathering Dust in the shop ..Little did i know that What was going for a few quid back then is worth a small fortune to collectors now!!
Explained perfectly and should have been used more for front line troops and raiding commandos.
Early in the war it was still experimantel later in the war 1942- 43 it become standard for elite units such as Division Großdeutschland, Totenkopf and Paratroopers.
Imagine if this had been produced for the entire Wehrmacht. I suspect it could have had a fairly significant casualty impact. Excellent video , I appreciate the research.
The Rest of the Wehrmacht is equipped with camouflaged clothing like jackets, trousers, smocks, overcoats, caps and helmet covers with the official issue of smocks and helmet covers beginning in 1942. Every German Soldier was issued a Zeltbahn camouflaged tent quarter that doubled as a waterproof poncho. Additionally every Division had the capability to manufacture its own camouflaged equipment with the clothing tailors.
No dd !! Why ?! Just the opposite !! Think again ! (O off pl)
@@robertclark1669O shit dd ! Boy was this ARMY prepared !!
💥👊💯💪👌
The WH also had their own effective pattern
your example of "smoke pattern"...blurred edge is wrong. You are showing a variation of the oak camouflage
got a nice blurred edge rain jacket from CAMO HQ
ALWAYS amazed... at every turn, Germany was at the very tip of the spear. Always decades ahead of the world. Even in clothing and its uses. Great video.. very cool.
No centrimetric radar gyro gunsights proximity fuses cryptology penicillin germans ahead with V2 rocket but not a war winner
Their research was spearheading in some places, and in others turned out to be dead end (stuff like wind cannon). They poured money into research in all areas like crazy, it's no wonder that some of it was excellent.
Unfortunately the English translation of "Leibermuster" as "body pattern" is a frequent misnomer in English language videos.
It is true: the English "body" translates (into German as) "Leib, Körper", but the term "Leiber" in the word "Leibermuster" simple comes from the name of the Person (a Mr "Leiber") who designed it.
Apart from that a very well made video.
fantastic -joaquim antunes são paulo brasil
Always a great and educational video Sir.
Thank you.
With eichenlaubmuster, you could've also mentioned that russians nearly completelly copied it for one of their camo patterns developed in 2000s.
And they properly named it "SS summer".
@@SigmarSvearikeAND autumn ;-)
@@SigmarSvearike i got a suit of ATW SS-Leto Partizan (autumn) super effectiv in mid europe
Nice Video, Well done!
Where did you get the Pictures of Mr. Brandt and Dr. Schick from???😍
Greetings
Man do I 🖤 these (except the last one) ! 😯
I have been camoed like a year behind a park/neighborhood; successfull so far !! 👊💯💪
Too bad the bad guys had the best looking camo
I Have a pair of the last camo pattern shown in the video, Swiss Army cargo pants/shorts type, unbelievably rugged, bought them at an Army/Navy store in R.I.
That is not WIlhelm Brandt, that photo is Heinz Macher.
W & H Rocks . !
Germans called them beatle crushers DPM smocks
I prefer the invisibility pattern which is the best of all. 😂
First pattern was "Blocktarn"
The original SS cam smock are worth a fortune $$$$$$
To much for a collector
British àlso used scientific / Artistic approach to cam but apart from Denison Smock uniforms were not DPM ???
Problem is each area is different, problem today also
Very informative and interesting, Wow, what a variety. It puts the allies to shame. Only the US Marines had camouflage uniforms in the pacific.
British had camouflage smocks, helmet covers, vehicles and many other forms. Navy and Airforce also.
These great and efficient camos are the Mother of all modern camouflages. Only because they are stamped nazis that they are not use nowadays. But, are you sure that Papa Hausser did have a role in the choice to camouflage these troops ? I always heard that Felix Steiner was the father of the WSS camouflage. about the pea pattern, I disagree. It was composed of 4 wide stains in various shapes, dark brow, dark green (and not black), light brown and light green. All these stains were doted peass of the three other colours. For example on the light green stain were light brown, drak green and dark brown peas ; on the dark brown stain were light green, dark green and light brown peas. This pattern was used as soon as the Normandy Invasion, and not the Bulge.
So Good !
E V E R Y Pattern with MULTI in Name and Mind/Idea IS CRAP !
The only good working Idea ist reversible Clothes for Summer and Autumn.
Well actually OCP/multicam is actually very effective in any environment which isn’t extreme (too green/too grey and so on) however reversible smocks are the best
@@anglishbookcraft1516 do not agree on the "very effective" part - like i said - it is laughable bad
Were they called bettle crushers by germans SS cam smocks ??
TREE FROGS😊 VERY SCHICK😅
Schöen àber dàs Müsik sux
