Right? so true. @BillMaher - I like you but you need a scolding on this note...for someone to give you something & say they worked on it for 2 yrs! - & you totally ignored that & gave no recognition to Tommy. Not a gracious response at all. The tree was Tommy's & he probably never intended to give it to anyone but he chose to give it to you. Bill is just an embarrassing moron. The uncle with no kids, no life, no family but all the answers to life which is usually booze and drugs. He’s a comedian all right. If a comedian is someone we laugh at and not with.
amazing episode great to see Tommy Lee taking the time to visit. i just wish Bill acknowledged Tommy Lee's birthday being on the same day Religulous premiered, shown more appreciation for the bonzai, and let him talk more.
The testimonial that Tommy just gave Bill was both outstanding and deeply heartfelt. It truly captured the essence of Bills' character. While I might not see eye to eye with him on every issue, I genuinely appreciate how he has a knack for cutting through the clutter and presenting his perspectives in a straightforward manner. His insights are well thought out, reflecting a depth of understanding that is increasingly hard to find in today’s complex social landscape. In an era where many people tend to speak in vague terms or follow popular opinions, Bill stands out as someone who is willing to voice his true thoughts, which makes his contributions all the more valuable and refreshing.
Tommy, we know how much work you put into your bonsai that gift was from your heart two years in the making it went right over bills heads, because he can’t ever shut his mouth long enough for his guess to talk! 😂
@SicilianStrega13 I know, that gift was so sweet and thoughtful. Tommy even gave Bill care instructions. I better see that Bonsai on future Club Random episodes or I'm gonna be pissed!
Such a funny, entertaining chat, and it's just amazing how Tommy still looks and sounds like a young rock n' roll dude! Bill always nails it. I've become a huge fan of this Club Random shit, it's as good as it gets... honesty rocks! Right on!
Great interview. One of the most entertaining I’ve seen in a while. Lots of chuckles. Bill and Tommy vibe off each other really well. Love ya work guys!
I loved this podcast! Tommy never says a bad word about anyone. He is a smart man and an awesome drummer. I had heard years ago he might have ADHD. I definitely enjoyed this interview between two men who have opposite personalities.
A bonsai tree is pretty damn underwhelming, and even moreso after the fanboy spiel. Every goddamn house in Ireland had a Bonsai tree 20 years ago when it was the cool new thing. Yes I know Tommy grew it himself and it symbolises his recovery blah, blah - but thats the way with "personal" gifts - they often please the giver more. Bill would have preferred something musical probably. A signed copy of X, Y, or Z.
Yeah. Especially when he mentioned that someone else just gave him one... I would be ecstatic if I got a bonsai from Tommy. I would consider it a gift of good luck and prosperity.
Once I interview Tommy Lee at the El Rey theater on the methods of mayhem tour, and some gorilla security guard, took away my micro cassette recorder. Tommy Lee saw him doing this when I was there to interview Tommy Lee, and he abruptly told the guy leave him alone and let him keep his micro cassette recorder. That was the most classic shit ever that guy got put in his place like he wouldn’t believe God bless America. God bless Tommy Lee.
Tommy Lee does a lot more than just "bang on sh@t" I saw Motely Crue back in the day and his rotating drum solo where he's playing upside down was the best part of the show and he was not just good, he was great.
biggest drummer of the 80’s man! he was the best. his drummer is really underrated nowadays and doesn’t seem to get spoke about because everything else and how much of a character he is. but he was fuckin awesome back in the day
THATS ON A BACKTRACK. ROTATING THE DRUMS UPSIDE DOWN OR ALL AROUND, THE SOUND PRESSURE BELOW IS DIFFERENT AND THE MICROPHONES WOULD PICK THAT UP AS WELL AS DIFFERENT AMBIENT SOUNDS AS DRUMS ROTATE*
As a drummer, I completely understand what Tommy Lee said about teaching drums to a new student... Some have the ability to learn quickly. Others, and most need to work hard
It's like that with everything in life. If you want to be great at anything, you have to have the right to genetics to start with. Of course it's hard work, passion for the craft and great mentors but without the genetics someone will never be in the top .1% of whatever they persue
It's a word that I should know, like ambidextrous for piano or even guitar, but when add in both feet let alone singing.. the words fail me. I am surprised neither mentioned drummers like Neil Peart or Rick Allen
What a FANTASTIC interview! I never imagined Tommy could come across as so sweet and yes, "delicate". I'm blown away by his overall humbleness and lovely demeanor!!! This was especially noticeable when Bill was talking about his film "Religulous" and said something about October 3rd and Tommy (whispered), "That's my birthday". Bill didn't catch it, but I thought it spoke VOLUMES about Tommy's character. First generation children have a vastly different upbringing in this country and it was quite evident in this interview. Keep up the good work, Bill!
Anyone can come across as happy, kind, and fun during media appearances. Frankly no human has ever been happy (= human condition to be dissatisfied and strung along by hope, escape, fear, and/or not knowing what else to do.
Well Bill definitely wanted to hear himself talk in this one, didn’t he? Felt like Tommy is his therapist and just came to listen while Bill just rambles on
I look at Tommy Lee and I can't help but think of Edie Brickell's lyrics "I'm not aware of too any things, I know what I know, if you know what I mean, d-do yeah..."
100% true with drums. School kept trying to put my youngest son on Ridilin so he'd sit still in class. I wasn't having it, I bought him a set of drums. He went to the top 10 of his class and at 28, he still plays every day.
WoW I just watched the documentary PAMALA recently. She & Tommy sure had a wild life yet so short lived. Their sons are so handsome. Glad Tommy grew up more than he realizes.
I remember talking about my childhood in detail, & of a specific time period. Suddenly all the memories came flooding back & made me feel the exact same way I felt back then & I realized that the smell memories came back too! I could smell the same smell I smelled back at that moment in time! It was amazing & wonderful!!
Another great show/conversation. The only thing I look forward to watching every week. The party room is perfect. Bill, just you doing you works, I love this show😊
It's fascinating how Bill simply can't let anyone finish a thought or a story without interrupting it and completely sideralling it to bring the focus back to him. with every single guest. every single conversation. He rly lacks that self awareness and seems like people around him are either too afraid to tell him, or just gave up on trying to.
Strange - even big names some totally educated and well travelled. Eg Oliver stone couldn’t tell him to shut up when he knew everything but had no back up.
I think it actually is Tommy sober. In much earlier interviews he’s talked about how he has ADHD (and a couple other diagnoses I can’t remember) and can’t sit still or coordinate thoughts unless he’s drunk or high; in this interview he clearly can’t do either😐
Bill Maher, sometime when you have a musician on your show ask them if they are into cymatics at all. because now standard tuning is 440hz since the 1930's, before that many different tunings were used ,432hz was used a lot it gives music a different affect on us. it was more "in tune" with our body kind of a calming effect. 440hz is kind of chaotic. look into it. being in tune with the universe is a true thing. im a drummer and i looked into why a deaf guy i knew could dance in time with the music. its an interesting subject and im just curious if many other musicians ever looked into that. different hz have healing capabilities on the human body. Tommy said about drumming you have to have a feeling for music and i think cymatics are behind "feeling" the music. a lot of stuff here on youtube about it, i think you would find it interesting. if you read this, thanks for your time.
Hope that Bill will appreciate the fact that Tommy gave him a gift that he has been taking care of for 2 years. The Bonsai Tree is beautiful Tommy. 💜

He is a narcissist. It reeks.
Yes because people are adults and can make there own decisions. Crazy I know.
haha, u made a spelling mistake🤪 @@cfroggy420
@@Ana_Cecilia615He is big time so was his best friend Lol.
I think they are both stellar individuals, grateful for both of them ❤
Lmao I relate so much to Tommy when he’s having a conversation. Being antsy, trying extra hard to sound engaged but not really know what the hell anyone’s talking about but trying to not look rude. Ahhh he’s awesome
The funniest and coolest thing about this interview is that Tommy is so used to talking to guys who are as fucked up as Bill, that he's just taking it in stride and going with the flow. Real rock stars rock. And the beauty of them is that they're totally non-judgemental. Refreshing as shit.
I think that's the reason why he calls the show club random?
Bill is just an embarrassing moron. The uncle with no kids, no life, no family but all the answers to life which is usually booze and drugs. He’s a comedian all right. If a comedian is someone we laugh at and not with.
yah it's hilarious but you can tell when someone who comes on the show is used to talking with people stoned out of their mind and Tommy was like lol
It's TV show business. They are more concerned about $$$ than drugs.
Ten minutes in and Bill hasn't let the guy speak yet.
First time watching Club random, because it’s always like this lol 😂
Dood yup really rad fuck dood yeah bro like really- there you just heard him speak
@@hollygolightly7475so funny
Been crushing it with the guests lately. Love the variety.
me too
Great Guests..
BTW, Bill TAlKS TO MUCH....
I loved this episode. Tommy is a great guy and fun and it was a fun listen and nice to have zero politics for a little while.
Tommy Lee did a nice interview of Bill Maher. Bill did all the talking.
Hey Bill ! Appreciate the bonsai Tommy gave you dammit !!!!!
After you wake up, we better see it on the table for every future interview .
Damn straight!
amazing episode great to see Tommy Lee taking the time to visit. i just wish Bill acknowledged Tommy Lee's birthday being on the same day Religulous premiered, shown more appreciation for the bonzai, and let him talk more.
Tommy Lee: I've been sober for a year
5 mins later: 'Recently we were in Scandinavia and I was up till 3am and like, should i do another bump?' Lmaoo
That was classic when he said that that he should do another bump at the hotel. Funny shit.
It was more like his memory triggered the days of staying up that late and wondering about a bump or drink. He didn’t mean that moment
That's not what he meant. He was saying having the sun come up triggers past drug experiences
It was nice of Tommy to let Bill talk.
Tim Hidecker alt account found
so true
he loves to hear himself talk
Such a funny, entertaining chat, and it's just amazing how Tommy still looks and sounds like a young rock n' roll dude! Bill always nails it. I've become a huge fan of this Club Random shit, it's as good as it gets... honesty rocks! Right on!
"Considerate comes from the word Consider." Thanks Bill.
Tommy’s gift to Bill was the sweetest thing EVER and Bill didn’t seem appreciative at all! Tommy even wrote out instructions 🥹🥹
I noticed that too!
Bill is a germaphobe so he is probably afraid of bringing some unknown entity into his house.
Great interview. One of the most entertaining I’ve seen in a while. Lots of chuckles. Bill and Tommy vibe off each other really well. Love ya work guys!
‘Here’s a bonsai tree. I’ve been working on it for a couple years.” Bill just keeps on talking. 😂
I loved this podcast! Tommy never says a bad word about anyone. He is a smart man and an awesome drummer. I had heard years ago he might have ADHD. I definitely enjoyed this interview between two men who have opposite personalities.
No, he's not "smart", and he is an okay rock drummer.
I remember when him and Kid Rock wanted to beat the hell outta eachother lol
he has HPV not ADHD lol
@@raaawkstaaar❤
What on earth makes you come to the conclusion that Tommy is anywhere near smart? WOW...lol
If this is what sober looks like, I will never quit.
What a Great Interview. The Best of the series. Tommy Lee and Maher are a Perfect example of a Great Conversation. Well Done.
44:25. What a great moment between the two. Bill made his sincerity about Tommy's compliment clear. Tommy seemed genuine also. Good stuff.
Bill's reaction to Tommy's gift might be the most cringy thing I've ever seen on this show. That was brutal.
where?
A bonsai tree is pretty damn underwhelming, and even moreso after the fanboy spiel. Every goddamn house in Ireland had a Bonsai tree 20 years ago when it was the cool new thing. Yes I know Tommy grew it himself and it symbolises his recovery blah, blah - but thats the way with "personal" gifts - they often please the giver more. Bill would have preferred something musical probably. A signed copy of X, Y, or Z.
I thought it was touching actually - not the tree but his compliments and message before the bonsei really touched Bill.
Bill NEVER listened to anything Tommy said!!!
Yeah. Especially when he mentioned that someone else just gave him one...
I would be ecstatic if I got a bonsai from Tommy. I would consider it a gift of good luck and prosperity.
Wish Maher would have let Tommy talk more…
For Tommy aka Jeff spicoli to say yup dood really like yeah rad dood fuck we shot jack danials like bro it was like yeah
Yeah right for sure
Yes@@
Longevity for tommy is the exercise of drumming, keep it up Tommy. Thanks Bill
Tommy Lee does a lot more than just "bang on sh@t" I saw Motely Crue back in the day and his rotating drum solo where he's playing upside down was the best part of the show and he was not just good, he was great.
so you're saying...he banged on shit?
biggest drummer of the 80’s man! he was the best. his drummer is really underrated nowadays and doesn’t seem to get spoke about because everything else and how much of a character he is. but he was fuckin awesome back in the day
THATS ON A BACKTRACK. ROTATING THE DRUMS UPSIDE DOWN OR ALL AROUND, THE SOUND PRESSURE BELOW IS DIFFERENT AND THE MICROPHONES WOULD PICK THAT UP AS WELL AS DIFFERENT AMBIENT SOUNDS AS DRUMS ROTATE*
No, his name was Peart.@@nic8577
Tommy is becoming and morphing into Ronny Wood from the stones 😅😅
How many times can Tommy start saying something we want to hear and Bill interrupts with BS
Every. Damn. Time. Unfortunately 😂
Agree! So annoying!!!!
Tommy isn't saying shit anyway. ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ.
It’s all about Bill
That’s what Bill does.
Very touching to hear Tommy express how much he appreciates Bill's talent and earnestness and intelligence and courage for speaking out.
It makes sense why so many women love Tommy. He has such a lovable and humble way about him in this interview.
Tommys a good listener.
When Tommy Lee gets the discussion back on track...
Must be quite the train wreck ...
This is mind numbing Tommy is dumber than a box of rocks
Oh it’s a scene, man.
I like how Tommy interviews Bill. The all about Bill pidcast
Thank you Bill and Tommy for the interview.
Loved this interview! Most down to earth dude on earth! If only we could all be chilled as him!
Bill's talking to Tommy Lee about Marcel Proust...now that IS random!
Tommy always seems so happy. Even compared to other obscenely wealthy people with awesome jobs
Because he’s basically a bull that’s been put out to stud.
@@frankjamesbonarrigo7162 😆 that would explain it
Anyone can come across as happy, kind, and fun during media appearances. Frankly no human has ever been happy (= human condition to be dissatisfied and strung along by hope, escape, fear, and/or not knowing what else to do.
@@Gcssdvnkloiutesc you ok?
having a foot long dong probably helps
When I have a talk with my kids about the effects of drugs I’m going to show them this interview with Tommy Lee
I’ll guarantee you tommy smarter do than you think he is
😂 truth
Well Bill definitely wanted to hear himself talk in this one, didn’t he? Felt like Tommy is his therapist and just came to listen while Bill just rambles on
Wow Tommy’s comment and plant to Bill was so kind. You love to see that. Rare these days.
Can you ask your guests more questions and let them talk more?
I look at Tommy Lee and I can't help but think of Edie Brickell's lyrics
"I'm not aware of too any things, I know what I know, if you know what I mean, d-do yeah..."
🤣
He’s toast
Take a drink every time bill says rockstar.
I don't want to get alcohol poisoning.
Bill acts like he’s sitting there with Jimmy page.. not quite
take a drink every time Tommy says "yesssssssss" or "dude" you'll be in the ICU
100% true with drums. School kept trying to put my youngest son on Ridilin so he'd sit still in class. I wasn't having it, I bought him a set of drums. He went to the top 10 of his class and at 28, he still plays every day.
Smart move and healthy for your son good on you 💯
Awesome
“Switzerland, Sweden, some Scandinavian... “ Love you!
WoW I just watched the documentary PAMALA recently.
She & Tommy sure had a wild life yet so short lived. Their sons are so handsome. Glad Tommy grew up more than he realizes.
Tommy must be California sober, but he seems happy and that’s all that matters.
Loved this!
Tommy and Bill together perfectly aged.
The Man, the Myth, the LEGEND.

And then there's Tommy Lee ...

Tommy Lee is one of the most lovable people...This interview was fun!
lol god a fictitious caracter hahaha they both are a barrel of laughs ...somebody thinks it s a person? lol
It's great to see the guys who make us all laugh, laugh. Watching this was an excellent way to spend an hour and a half. Very cool.
If THIS is Tommy sober, I’m the king of England…
🤣🤣
I think it actually is Tommy sober. In much earlier interviews he’s talked about how he has ADHD (and a couple other diagnoses I can’t remember) and can’t sit still or coordinate thoughts unless he’s drunk or high; in this interview he clearly can’t do either😐
😳🤣
😂
Made me laugh out loud .thank you!!!
Bill's all giddy like a Teenage Fan!...LOL. Great call to get Tommy on the show! More Rock Stars for sure!!
Loved it !! Super entertaining pod cast. 2 cool dudes
*TOMMY LEE: THE ULTIMATE COOL GUY*
*BILL MAHER: THE ULTIMATE NERD*
