Yes! I loved his show (and all the shows) during the pandemic without audiences. We got a lot more content since there were no breaks every 15 seconds for laughter and applause.

Bill is too stoned but Tarantino is relaxed and engaged and keeps that conversation on track. I do love hearing what inspired him film wise and how and why sews those details into his work. QT often seems awkward and uncomfortable on talks shows but this setting lets him discuss the various films/actors/places that resonate with his work and he comes off a lot less nerdy. I keep wondering when Bill is just going to stand up and announce he has to go to sleep now cause he can't remember what he is going to say or ask.....
I think quentin is a bit drunk and also stoned.

If Maher learns to let his guests fully answer his questions before cutting them off right away, this could be a really good podcast. This is truly just two people hanging out in someone's cozy and comfy basement over drinks (and weed) getting silly together. No interview questions lined up, just goofy conversation. But Maher has got to let his guests finish their thoughts before interrupting; I bet that ability, though, will come with a little time, as he gets the feel of things. Good stuff! This format is just a lot of fun!

They just can't turn it off and listen, they act like they'll lose relevance if they are silent for a minute.

I made it 12 mins in and Mahar interrupting to make completely irrelevant side topics is just too annoying to continue to watch. Let the guest tell his story dude, THEN you talk...... about the actual thing your guest just talked about.

You can tell he's been on Politically incorrect where he probably actually got 17 minutes out of 30 other 13 minutes are commercials and Real Time for so long... Probably has a ticking clock sound in the back of his mind for no reason... He'll get better soon

Yeah, seriously. Mahr needs to close his stupid mouth and let his guest speak. Tarantino would say something and get started telling a story. Only to get sidetracked by Mahr verbalizing every single thought that popped into his head. Jessie Waters sometimes has the same issue with his guests, to the point where I stopped watching his interviews over a year ago.

I don't know why anyone would want to talk to Bill. I like his New Rules and a few things he does but the guy is an insufferable asshole. Every word out of Tarantino's mouth is met with skepticism, doubt, derision. Such a nasty fucker, one of those cunts you have to walk on eggshells around.

@Jim Jones I didn’t say that, I’d like to hear about 60’s, 70’s, Grindehouse era cinema, stuff that relates to QT’s style of films. Old classic films and silent films have very little to do with QT’s films and his style. No one cares. Horrible questions. Bill’s too fucking high. This isn’t what Rogan does. Bill can’t keep it together.
He interrupts a bit too much but he's just letting go of his suit-and-tie persona and being himself.
As for the questions being asked: People are fed up with the usual questions.
Going into exotic areas of a famous person's mind is refreshing.

My absolute favorite director. I love the way he rewrites history. Always the greatest soundtracks to boot. Great conversation. Tarantino has such a good eye for detail, great taste in music and superb dialogues. Love his story teller. Love this channel.

Quentin interviewing Bill is the most hilarious thing ever in the history of animated images. He basically says whatever he wants and then just says something intelligent to make Bill confused and silent, hence Quentin can keep talking.
Watching you guys argue about remotes/clickers while obviously fucked up warms my heart. Bill, keep being you and change for no one.

"Once Upon a Time in Hollywood" was an awesome friendship movie for real. Good take Bill. I loved that about it, and have had a seriously best friend a couple of times.
I like the interrupting, the tangents. It's how people talk when drinking and smoking, I like that atmosphere. If you want a standard interview, plenty of other places for that.
Exactly!!! I feel like the people commenting that Bill needs to “let his guests finish ….” don’t spend much time with friends when you’re a little inebriated, totally relaxed, and very engaged in good conversation. These aren’t interviews. They’re conversations.

The rambling by Bill is a bit annoying. When they hit a good topic he drifts away into a cloud.
I think you have a good spin, but I do think Bill needs to do more deep listening to satisfy most listeners. What I"m saying is, this podcast would ultimately do better if he listened more. However, I get your point that he could have some devoted listeners with it as a conversation not an interview. The important thing these days is how the AI sees it, honestly.

My favorite Tarantino film after Pulp Fiction was "Four Rooms." I actually have it on video tape, and keep a VCR so I can watch it occasionally - a lot of people say they aren't familiar with it but if you've never seen it, I highly suggest watching it. It's a comedy and features cameo appearances by Quentin himself, Bruce Willis, Madonna, Antonio Banderas, David Proval, Jennifer Beals, others. It stars Tim Roth and is a great, entertaining movie.
Put this up on the big screen, get on the rocker, pop a cold one and feels like you're right there listening to them BS on movies, history, religion, politics and just...life.
It was a blast... keep them coming.
I haven't seen Bill this happy on camera since the 90s.
Goes to show that modern TV programs really do boil people alive ridding them of their personality and joy.

Tarantino seems like someone who is free with their intellect. It's hard in today's age. Love the filmmaker insights as well as a journey into one of the greatest minds in cinema history.

Which is being very careful about what words and analogy to use when thinking and explaining. Nolan is like, I made another good film, but I support all writers and directors, and will not say anything bad about them. Tarantino is like, I made another good film, and these writers and directors suck because 1,2,3...
Quentin’s take on silent films is great, I love silent movies especially Keaton and love Quentin’s opinion
movies at their core are stories told through visuals... through picture. you could argue dialogue is unnecessary.

What I love about this Club Random Channel are how guests, like Tarantino are so relaxed. I like the time given to them, the tidbits that they give regarding their skills and getting to know these people on a more personable level. It's cool.

@Ty-Guy Bill Maher thinks he's so cool; By constantly complimenting Quentin he's actually insulting him because it, functionally, pigeon holes the conversation so Quentin can't talk about anything Bill Maher doesn't already know about.
That way Quentin can't inadvertently reveal how little Bill actually knows.
I like how Tarantino sounds progressively more drunk as the show progresses.

What a nice conversation! I haven't seen Quentin in over a decade. He always was a cool movie mastermind, but he seems to get more personable with age. More of a listener, easier to intrigue in conversation. That is a very nice trade. Even though I had no problem with his constant talking before, always interesting. Who wouldn't wanna talk movies with that dude :)

This podcast is so good. It's nice to see Mr. Maher in such a relaxed setting. I must say the Fran Lebowitz and Woody Harrelson sessions were the best. Thanks, Bill!

Sometimes Bill astounds me! Anyone who saw 1969's classic Midnight Cowboy, and that scene where Jon Voight and the lonely woman in NYC rolling around and changing channels, knows remote controls existed in the 60s. I was only coming into the world at that time. Love this channel

I’ve watched bill maher for 15+ years and love him so much. I like this casual format with famous people where politics isn’t the center of the conversation. I actually love this style, Bill is off his mind but it helps Quentin open up. He doesn't have to sit and wait for some silly press question here he can just riff and if he doesn't want to talk about something he knows Bill is so minced he will have forgotten he asked so he just moves on :D

This is probaly the best Maher Interview I have ever seen. People complaining about the interruptions but they both are having fun and there is a natural buddy flow.

Tarantino doesn't seem wasted or high to me for one moment of the interview. If anything, he's more subdued than he often comes off in interviews.

I have tears in my eyes🥲, I'm almost at the end of this video, but my oh my, this was a trip back to my childhood. Seeing these two characters drinking and blowing a couple of joints....whoa it ripped open a can of memories....I actually saw my Dad and the neighbour sitting in our basement after they watched a soccer match, they were drinking and smoking Dutch joints and talking Bullshit till deep in the night.....wonderful absolutely wonderful...keep it up Bill and Quentin, this was blast to the past.
Me too! I loved getting off work and stumbling on this podcast. Found myself laughing the entire time with tears in my eyes and taking a trip down memory lane.. I loved both of the first two episodes! Best new podcast ever! Usually new podcasts have to kind of work the kinks out and they get better as they go.. (or not). Bill Maher doesn't seem at all worried about it being his first time doing podcasts! I just hope he keeps it EXACTLY like it is now! Sometimes I listen to podcasts series from episode one and really enjoy the newness, only to find as they get more viewers, everything becomes to commercialized.

Oh Man! You guys mentioned Blackula and I flipped. I’m 65 and at the time I was a 17 year old teen on my first Acid Trip seeing Blackula. Scared the shit out of me. The protagonist didn’t walk, he floated towards you. I couldn’t watch. A call-back to my youth. Thanks for that Tarantino.

I'm 55 ... this is me an any one of my friends any summer in the last 25 years MINUS the millions of dollars. These guys are having a blast talking about movies, old times, girls etc. I'm not married, some of my friends are (unhappy) some aren't (very happy) ... I've been a Maher and Tarantino fans both since the start of their respected careers. This is real. They are drunk (I always forget what I was saying) stones and having a blast. Cant wait to see whom else is on George Carlin would have been the #1 guest on Bills podcast.
I am not married either and frankly the only thing that makes me wish I were is listening to Bill. I hope that I am not this inappropriate at his age. I am older than you and close in age to him. We change as we grow older but as I see it, Bill speaks of wisdom but demonstrates none.
I also find his conversation as an old man grotesque. To offer an analogy, two men age 70 can go to the naked beach and start flirting with the girls. It's their life and they can do what they please. For most of us, however, we see that that shoe does not fit any longer--we have had our day and are on to a new one.
Women age 70 can wear short skirts and low-cut shirts "showing off" their breasts. I think it looks grotesque, but they should do as they please. Like it or not, certain things are age appropriate and others or not.
Bill appears on every level to be 25. At a certain point, it appears played out. He is in my view, the "old man at the beach." He thinks he is anything but that, but take away his fame and he is just that.
I have enjoyed him for years and still do, but he is beginning to weird me out like when I run into the occasional high school friend and am shocked that they haven't changed. Just sayin' To each his own.
So many people misunderstanding this episode. Quentin was extremely comfortable and enjoying the conversation. Bill was too and acting more elated than normal because of his admiration, which seemed like he was more high or drunk than other episodes.

I was born 1972 and I don't remember seeing a remote control until around 1980/1981. What I remember about American TVs that I saw on TV was that they had colour portable sets with the rotary tuning dial, in Britain only black-&-white TVs had that. America seemed so far advanced in the 80s. They had cable TV years before we did. However we had widescreen television from the late 90s. Same number of pixels, they just elongated them to make the picture wider, how clever is that. I think they called it PAL+. That was a full 10 years before HD really became a thing.

Been watching Bill Maher since politically incorrect days and glad he finally decided to do shows in this format, too. He always talks about getting high but my first time seeing Bill smoking a blunt. Must be good shit as he keeps losing his train of thoughts. Tarantino was a great guest beside being an awesome film maker.

I AGREE. i adore the minds that I can relate to… high or not. I noticed someone was commenting on some thing that bill said that was incorrect and I thought he’s actually critiquing this conversation between friends and that means nothing is carved in stone I had to respond back maybe I should watch it completely straight but I think i won’t read comments. Yours made me feel like I wasn’t hurting my stomach from laughing over nothing. The woody harrelson is so different but just began it and woody is one of those deep thinkers and Bill looks like his head is going to explode. It’s so real you feel like you were in the room. Check out that episode with Freddie Gibbs, its hilarious. That's one of my absolute favorite Podcast's for sure 😎👍
