Bill and Quentin Tarantino randomly riff on movies that make no sense, the developmental stages of babies, Quentin’s love of Politically Incorrect, the Once Upon a Time in America bromance, and that time Quentin visited Bill backstage in Austin.

Bill, you’ll always have my eyes, ears and much respect from me! Hope your new venture is a smash!
I remember watching your first stand-up. You had a joke about taking an attorney into your confessional... I think I even saw you on Roseanne once lol club random is going to get huge 🏆

Still waiting since Shatners interview for you to spark that joint long enough to take a few puffs, Bill. I love this format, the internet really needed this right now.
Dude! Props for QT for keeping this conversation on the rails because Bill was so high he could barely remember what planet he was on- 😂😂😂.
😂
Bill is an angry misanthrope who gets high to try to socialize with people better, but it's still hard to watch because the anger is still there.
Seemed a lil drunk. No full time pot smoker acts like that.
Even the ads he did he was so ripped
No clickers QT!
“I’ve never been held hostage, but I have been interviewed by Bill Maher.”

A sad end to a potentially awesome interview. Bill drank too much and embarrassed himself. He seems lonely. I love Bill and have for 40 years. Stick with pot, Bill! Alcohol is not your bag.

@@MrBuketman That is just not right. Yeah, it will go off the rails occasionally, but for the most part it works if you do it right😉
@@MrBuketman that is very incorrect in my experience
I wish Bill had started doing this years ago, but glad we have it now.
Yes! Agreed
I'm really getting tired of his show but this kind of stuff I could watch 100 episodes of. I'm just politically burned out

It was fun watching Bill Mahr audition for Quentin Tarantino for the role of an older, drunk, stoner man. His method acting technique is outstanding.
🤣👏
😂cthat’s exactly what Tarantino is thinking throughout all this, he even made a second appearance on the pod to get even more character work out of bill
Bahahahaha
Those are bad things? Gonna have.a hard life.
The role definitely feels "lived in."
Getting stoned with a mate, having a chat in comfy surroundings - this was a ton of fun.
Very refreshing to see Bill Maher without that annoying audience applauding every thing he says
Right! Feels like audiences nowadays always have the need to clap and cheer after every fucking zinger
instead we just get him laughing at himself
Yes! I loved his show (and all the shows) during the pandemic without audiences. We got a lot more content since there were no breaks every 15 seconds for laughter and applause.
@@dstroh22 yeah that will never change. The man is just not that funny
@@jeffs6090 I'd rather have the audience than his interrupting guests every 20 seconds.
Quentin is not only a crazy self obsessed genius but also a patient nice guy.
Self-obsessed is a bit harsh... he isn't simply knowledgeable about his own movies. He might even be more obsessed with other peoples movies than his own.
Like me
@@atlasfeynman1039definitely self obsessed, but still worth having a conversation with
It must be exhausting to talk about your passion with a guy who knows nothing about it and who is stoned.
Dangerously amazing combination for any level of personal development ... Open minded but focused
This is my new favorite podcast. You actually talk to these famous people like they are people and not celebrities. Thank you for this, Bill Maher!
Pot, top shelf booze, Bill being himself, Tarantino being his hyper self while all taking place in a basement that looks like a 1970s Vegas lounge.

This is why Bill can’t openly smoke on HBO, every 10 minutes, “What we’re we taking about again?” 😂
A drunk and high Bill Maher slogs his way through an Express VPN commercial!!!
Yeah that doesn't make any sense
Not to mention throughout the whole interview he never lost track of his frame of thought so stop it
It takes two people to forget what is being talked about
@@user-nj1zu2nf1x I completely disagree. Wait, what were we talking about?
Finally, bill laid back and high shooting the shit. Its nice to see bill as bill for a change. Looking forward to every podcast.
Those nasty old geezers could be long lost brothers!
One sexy guy-Bill
I don't know why anyone would want to talk to Bill. I like his New Rules and a few things he does but the guy is an insufferable asshole. Every word out of Tarantino's mouth is met with skepticism, doubt, derision. Such a nasty fucker, one of those cunts you have to walk on eggshells around.
Agreed...looking forward to more
If Maher learns to let his guests fully answer his questions before cutting them off right away, this could be a really good podcast. This is truly just two people hanging out in someone's cozy and comfy basement over drinks (and weed) getting silly together. No interview questions lined up, just goofy conversation. But Maher has got to let his guests finish their thoughts before interrupting; I bet that ability, though, will come with a little time, as he gets the feel of things. Good stuff! This format is just a lot of fun!
That's the problem with most of these comedians having podcasts.
They just can't turn it off and listen, they act like they'll lose relevance if they are silent for a minute.
Agreed. And I thought it was just me. I spent more time straining to hear the guest over Bill's non stop jabber.
I made it 12 mins in and Mahar interrupting to make completely irrelevant side topics is just too annoying to continue to watch. Let the guest tell his story dude, THEN you talk...... about the actual thing your guest just talked about.
YES...he should know better--it's his JOB to know this!
You can tell he's been on Politically incorrect where he probably actually got 17 minutes out of 30 other 13 minutes are commercials and Real Time for so long... Probably has a ticking clock sound in the back of his mind for no reason... He'll get better soon
This made my day. I’ve been a fan of QT and BM for decades. Together, they’re like Tom & Jerry, Peanut Butter & Jelly, Ren & Stimpy…they just complement one another. We need more of this Bill!
One of my all time favorite movies is FOUR ROOMS. Thank you Quentin for making such great films!
Yes!!!!
Tarantino seems like someone who is free with their intellect. It's hard in today's age. Love the filmmaker insights as well as a journey into one of the greatest minds in cinema history.
What do you mean by free with his intellect?
@@starwarsfreak1111 It means Tarantino can get high and make an offensive analogy to explain an idea, like Elon Musk. The opposite is what Nolan does. Which is being very careful about what words and analogy to use when thinking and explaining. Tarantino is like, I made another good film, and these writers and directors suck because 1,2,3...
I'm seriously split between watching This whole episode in one sit, or go slowly savouring it over the days... Pretty please please, make Mr. Quentin Tarantino a recurring guest! Loving this! #ClubRandom
You must not have seen the one with Shatner...now THAT's really interesting imo ✌
You two are comedy gold together!
Watching you guys argue about remotes/clickers while obviously fucked up warms my heart. Bill, keep being you and change for no one.
I had to google it to settle it in my own head haha. Spoiler, Quentin was right lol.
This conversation had me laughing my ass off:
"I was like 6 or 7 in 1969."
"What year were you born?"
"1963."
"Oh fuck you."
"Hehe."
That little laugh got me.
@@JustAnotherBlader Yeah expect Quintin said 1969 but really the 4 button clicker was invented in the 50s. Splitting hairs he is still right and Billy boy is even more incorrect. lol
@@TheHiyy But Bill was also correct in that the vast majority of households in '69 did not have a remote for the TV.
"Once Upon a Time in Hollywood" was an awesome friendship movie for real. Good take Bill. I loved that about it, and have had a seriously best friend a couple of times.
Love Bill and Quentin. Hope we get more episodes with Quentin down the road. So happy that Bill started this podcast.
I love this type of laid back discussion. This podcast is gunna be huge!
The movie talk was boring af though, no one wants to hear discussion on the fucking TCM channel classics.
Not if Maher won't shut the fuck up.
@Jim Jones I didn’t say that, I’d like to hear about 60’s, 70’s, Grindehouse era cinema, stuff that relates to QT’s style of films. Old classic films and silent films have very little to do with QT’s films and his style. No one cares. Horrible questions. Bill’s too fucking high. This isn’t what Rogan does. Bill can’t keep it together.
He interrupts a bit too much but he's just letting go of his suit-and-tie persona and being himself.
As for the questions being asked: People are fed up with the usual questions.
Going into exotic areas of a famous person's mind is refreshing.
@@forgivemylaughter I completely disagree, that discussion was my favorite part of the entire episode. Maybe because Quentin is such a huge film nerd that just watching these two guys talk about any kind of cinema is always entertaining. It also helps if you have seen (and love) Gone With the Wind
I'm 55 ... this is me an any one of my friends any summer in the last 25 years MINUS the millions of dollars. These guys are having a blast talking about movies, old times, girls etc. I'm not married, some of my friends are (unhappy) some aren't (very happy) ... I've been a Maher and Tarantino fans both since the start of their respected careers. This is real. They are drunk (I always forget what I was saying) stones and having a blast. Cant wait to see whom else is on George Carlin would have been the #1 guest on Bills podcast.
I am not married either and frankly the only thing that makes me wish I were is listening to Bill. I hope that I am not this inappropriate at his age. I am older than you and close in age to him. We change as we grow older but as I see it, Bill speaks of wisdom but demonstrates none.
I also find his conversation as an old man grotesque. To offer an analogy, two men age 70 can go to the naked beach and start flirting with the girls. It's their life and they can do what they please. For most of us, however, we see that that shoe does not fit any longer--we have had our day and are on to a new one.
Women age 70 can wear short skirts and low-cut shirts "showing off" their breasts. I think it looks grotesque, but they should do as they please. Like it or not, certain things are age appropriate and others or not.
Bill appears on every level to be 25. At a certain point, it appears played out. He is in my view, the "old man at the beach." He thinks he is anything but that, but take away his fame and he is just that.
I have enjoyed him for years and still do, but he is beginning to weird me out like when I run into the occasional high school friend and am shocked that they haven't changed. Just sayin' To each his own.
Quentin Tarantino is my favorite movie maker of all time! He’s an absolute freaking genius at what he does! Great interview!
Usually I skip commercials, but watching a drunk & baked AF Bill Maher stumble his way through the advertising was one of the funniest parts of this whole thing
😂
I have tears in my eyes🥲, I'm almost at the end of this video, but my oh my, this was a trip back to my childhood. Seeing these two characters drinking and blowing a couple of joints....whoa it ripped open a can of memories....I actually saw my Dad and the neighbour sitting in our basement after they watched a soccer match, they were drinking and smoking Dutch joints and talking Bullshit till deep in the night.....wonderful absolutely wonderful...keep it up Bill and Quentin, this was blast to the past.
Me too! I loved getting off work and stumbling on this podcast. Found myself laughing the entire time with tears in my eyes and taking a trip down memory lane.. I loved both of the first two episodes! Best new podcast ever! Usually new podcasts have to kind of work the kinks out and they get better as they go.. (or not). Bill Maher doesn't seem at all worried about it being his first time doing podcasts! I just hope he keeps it EXACTLY like it is now! Sometimes I listen to podcasts series from episode one and really enjoy the newness, only to find as they get more viewers, everything becomes to commercialized.
I’ve watched bill maher for 15+ years and love him so much. I like this casual format with famous people where politics isn’t the center of the conversation. It’s nice to see this side of bill where they’re just chillin and drinking and smoking and talking about amazing movies in his man cave. Good shit.
My absolute favorite director. I love the way he rewrites history. Always the greatest soundtracks to boot. Great conversation. Tarantino has such a good eye for detail, great taste in music and superb dialogues. Love his story teller. Love this channel.
Rewrites history as in making Hitler just as evil and showing him as the comic book cartoon super villain he has become...wake up
@@k.c.r.5974 Are you kidding? You totally missed the point.
I haven't seen Bill this happy on camera since the 90s.
Goes to show that modern TV programs really do boil people alive ridding them of their personality and joy.
politics hurts everyone ..it's naturally divisive ..D & R sit separate in Washington ..does that tell ya something ? ..people should just vote & let the politicians tear each other's heads off ..people have their reasons for who they vote for ..that is their business ..People should stop pointing their bias fingers & take care of their own business & be happier ..conversation yes , but have a little love & understanding ...make the world a better place!
He's also stoned out of his mind, which he doesn't do on his normal show (unless he's really good at keeping on topic when he wants to).
and ours too
His TV show focuses on politics. Thats not something people usually have fun discussing.
Right? Ive never found bill likeable, until this podcast. Hes was acting like an ass, but i was with him all the way
Gonna need A LOT more Quentin in this Club going forward! Stellar podcast, amazing conversation, definitely & unequivocally, time well spent!
Wow Bill this Quentin interview was so much fun. Shooting the breezes (in and out) while chatting about real Hollywood- was so insightful and almost unbelievable- that it was a lot of fun. Thanks guys. Great chat!
Quentin interviewing Bill is the most hilarious thing ever in the history of animated images. He basically says whatever he wants and then just says something intelligent to make Bill confused and silent, hence Quentin can keep talking.
Dammit Bill, I've been waiting for YEARS to see you just sit back & shoot the breeze without a formal structure in place just like this. It's every bit as good as I'd imagined!

Nice to be ahead of the curve in finding a great new podcast. No message, no set topics, no politics, no agenda...it makes a nice change. Just two people with interesting lives shooting the breeze, thereby creating mindless fun and entertainment. 👍

I think he might be trying this out because he realizes he'll be cancelled as a right winger if he keeps noticing things that we all noticed years ago... Bill's noticing things he's not suppose to notice when you are on his political aisle.
This is what podcasting with video is all about! No agenda! The entertainment we all need! just a couple of showbiz legends, relaxed and sharing experiences! Thanks Bill! This is superb! Enjoying this with a cold one after a long day at work in the UK!
Bill Maher is not a legend.
I always enjoy listening to QT talk about film. History, camera shots, stories.
Bill is too stoned but Tarantino is relaxed and engaged and keeps that conversation on track. I do love hearing what inspired him film wise and how and why sews those details into his work. QT often seems awkward and uncomfortable on talks shows but this setting lets him discuss the various films/actors/places that resonate with his work and he comes off a lot less nerdy. I keep wondering when Bill is just going to stand up and announce he has to go to sleep now cause he can't remember what he is going to say or ask.....
I think quentin is a bit drunk and also stoned.

QT was also interrupting Bill, they was just having so much fun. Very free conversation unlike on tv.
Great idea for a podcast Bill, a hidden camera lounge for two - exactly for this reason.
QT is such a cool guy…so down to earth with his every man vibe
I like the interrupting, the tangents. It's how people talk when drinking and smoking, I like that atmosphere. If you want a standard interview, plenty of other places for that.
Exactly!!! I feel like the people commenting that Bill needs to “let his guests finish ….” don’t spend much time with friends when you’re a little inebriated, totally relaxed, and very engaged in good conversation. These aren’t interviews. They’re conversations.
Thats the thing!! Its people talking not any other boring interview there is.
But Quentin Tarantino had to carry the conversation. If Bill Has another guest on here who gets equally as an abbreviated it’s too boring to watch 2 drunk people that are high try to have a conversation
The rambling by Bill is a bit annoying. When they hit a good topic he drifts away into a cloud.
I think you have a good spin, but I do think Bill needs to do more deep listening to satisfy most listeners. What I"m saying is, this podcast would ultimately do better if he listened more. However, I get your point that he could have some devoted listeners with it as a conversation not an interview. The important thing these days is how the AI sees it, honestly.
This is the Podcast I didn't know I needed in my life, Bill never disappoints me ❤
What I love about this Club Random Channel are how guests, like Tarantino are so relaxed. I like the time given to them, the tidbits that they give regarding their skills and getting to know these people on a more personable level. It's cool.

I absolutely love everything that Bill does. My only complaint is that he talks so much that nobody could get a word in edgewise.
But he's fucking destroyed and i love it and i think QT is fine with it too.

I am the same age and a big fan of Bill. I was also the guy who wrote the software where Quentin worked, Video Archives. I was hired by Dennis Humbert to help their software guy, Andy Blinn to finish the software in BASIC running on a TRS-80. He was a very nice guy and I was going to do it for free. However he was more of an artist than an engineer and asked me to take over. I did and wrote it in UCSD P-system. But the inventory and customer base was already in his software, which wasn't working, yet. So I soldered up an adapter and asked Andy to transfer that info to my device. Usually we watched movies there after closing, but I knew Andy would be too distracted by that, so I locked him in telling to break the window if fire breaks out and took the crew across the street to a bar where I bought them tequila shots. I don't recall if Quentin worked that day or not. Andy is no longer with us as he had Cystic Fibrosis, but he is certainly in my memories, he was a really good guy. Then I came up with ideas like context sensitive help and Quentin came up with ideas such as Reservoir Dogs (he did some French Bakery thing with Brian De Palma, before, I think). I signed Reservoir Dogs guestbook with something like: "I reprogrammed your brain with my software and I claim all credit for your future successes". I am glad he is doing well. I never see him, I see Roger Avary every now and again, though, (including Andy's memorial service) he lives in China for most part, I think.
What is up with Quentin's hair being all black?
Thanks Bill for creating this show. Seeing you smoke weed and drink liquor creates an intimacy for the viewer.. Like you're at a party in someone's home

Sorry Bill, Quentin is correct. The first TV remote control, called the "Lazy Bone", was released in 1950; it had four big "clicky" buttons on the surface.
Yep when the Beatles met Elvis they were blown away he had a tv remote control in the early 60s
Jack Lemmon used a remote control in The Apartment, in 1961.
Yup, there was a solenoid that just incremented/decremented a manual channel knob.
Billiam is Jamie-less, so we have to go-ogle the
obscure reefer-ences
@@LudiCrust. Yea, Ringo Starr said it was mind blowing to see that technology for the first time. Of course Elvis had one!
What a nice conversation! I haven't seen Quentin in over a decade. He always was a cool movie mastermind, but he seems to get more personable with age. More of a listener, easier to intrigue in conversation. That is a very nice trade. Even though I had no problem with his constant talking before, always interesting. Who wouldn't wanna talk movies with that dude :)
This is like watching another JRE being born all over again! I'm loving it and even more seeing Bill happy and none of that seriousness in front of the TV. Smoking pot is just the cherry on top *chef kiss*
Please stop incorporating chef's kiss in your vocabulary
Quentin is always such a fantastic guest on any show he's on. Great storyteller and film/ pop culture historian. Awesome to see Bill is doing a podcast now.
He is awesome.
big fan! I think the podcast should be called "what were we talking about?"
😂😂😂
One of the best podcasts ever. I couldn’t stop listening. Makes me love bill all over again
I get that it's laid back, but damn, can Maher let Quentin finish a thought just once??
he might need to work on that
he's so hammer and lit. I think he'll figure it out.
That’s what happens when you get two alphas in the room
@@Stranger_In_The_Alps what a non alpha reply
He's high man, give him a break.
"Keep talking ... slower.." Bill ... just a hilarious man. Bill's got his own Joe Rogan thing going here. I'm all in.
My favorite Tarantino film after Pulp Fiction was "Four Rooms." I actually have it on video tape, and keep a VCR so I can watch it occasionally - a lot of people say they aren't familiar with it but if you've never seen it, I highly suggest watching it. It's a comedy and features cameo appearances by Quentin himself, Bruce Willis, Madonna, Antonio Banderas, David Proval, Jennifer Beals, others. It stars Tim Roth and is a great, entertaining movie.
It's not a Tarantino film, according to Tarantino. He only directed one room.
it's nice to see QT be able to talk about his passions without his interviewer being openly hostile to him.
Bill could let QT finish a thought every now and then lol
There's been quite alot of great, passionate & lengthy podcast interviews with QT recently. JRE, Cinema Blend, one called something like Three Books etc. (Sorry my man I couldn't remember your name off the top of my head), Armchair Expert. All unique and interesting, covering different areas and a refreshing departure from the formulaic press junkets.
@@isaacpriestley I know maybe Bill was super high but sheesh let QT talk, lol
I mean they're friends.
Mutual admiration lent itself to a great interview. Great vibe, edifying and amusing. 👍
My grandfather introduced me to politically incorrect from the time I can remember and that exposure always led me to find truth And😆Quentin Tarantino’s films made me realize the darkest parts of our society are actually the beauty that connects us all and to see them engaging on a personal level reinforces everything my grandfather taught me… You will know the truth when you feel it ….with this new format it is combined my two favorite people in the most engaging way and fulfills a lifelong dream of sitting and just witnessing a real conversation as if I was in the room
Realized that after having listened to Bill talk about weed for 30 yrs, this was the first time I’ve seen him high. And boy was he! Loved it though, great talk.
First person I ever saw use a tv remote was Archie Bunker in the early 70’s. And they were poor.

@@gersonpierce3250 smoking the weed when the camara is on the other person. With earbuds in I could hear them hitting it. I have wondered the same thing in both episodes.. Why do they wait till the camara is off them??
Quentin’s take on silent films is great, I love silent movies especially Keaton and love Quentin’s opinion
movies at their core are stories told through visuals... through picture. you could argue dialogue is unnecessary.
First time someone talked more than Quentin in an interview.
Yes, I liked the show. Wish Tarantino was given more space to finish his thoughts.
love bill, but he will not stop interrupting... it hurts the interview...
Quentin is so goddamn passionate.
I love it
Great episode and Quentin is amazing as always to listen to. 👌✌
This podcast is so good. It's nice to see Mr. Maher in such a relaxed setting. I must say the Fran Lebowitz and Woody Harrelson sessions were the best. Thanks, Bill!
