    Great video. We used a helicopter to spray round up before one time but the spray pattern left alot of missed spots. But that was 30 years ago so I know it is alot better now. Watching a helicopter crop dust is very cool sight.

    Neat video! This man looks as if this is "just another day at the office" as he puts the helo through the paces.

    That is so awesome! Loved that ending footage of the helicopter in action. Kali looks like she’s really having a blast. Chaz did a great job explaining how everything works, what a cool job he has. I have always been fascinated with helicopters. So much so that I actually fly RC (radio controlled) helicopters and have been for 15 years now. Unlike real helicopters, RC helis can hover inverted, do loops, and also barrel rolls. Another tidbit, it’s also much harder to fly RC helicopters than RC airplanes, but I can’t fly planes because I never have! 😂 Great video you guys, I really enjoyed it!

    Really cool to see y’all explore and share other aspects of ag aviation. When I was a young man I rode shotgun with the guy I worked for in an old Bell 47-G rounding up cattle. Talk about fun!!! I was amazed at all he was able to do with a helicopter. Y’all be safe out there!! 🤠👍

    Had a heli do the field across the road for the first time last year, and one word crazy! They looked like they flew closer to the edge than the planes! Always fun to watch.

      @AgAviationAdventures  5 місяців тому

      Kind of depends on the situation! But a thorough ag pilot, whether fixed or rotor, will cover the entire field.

    I remember having to change the diaphragm on the spay nozzles,as the chemicals would eat them up and cause them to leak when not spraying. I use to mix ddt, methal perathyn back in the day . I was under 11 years old . Strong stuff.

    Great interview Tyson! I had never thought about it but I have never seen a helicopter spaying in North Dakota (or here in Manitoba). Is that because of the size of the fields and the smaller tanks on helicopters? My guess is the cost of a helicopter and the cost of operating would make them "inefficient" (not economical here.

    Just a small correction, but there are a lot of air tractors and thrushes and other models that use a hydraulic pump system.

      For sure, in fact we are buying a Cessna Ag truck that has a hydraulic system. I think Tyson referenced our Thrush, as it has the wind driven pump. But valid point!
