A&W or Dog N Suds. I miss both!
We had an A&W, I loved the teen burgers. They had bacon bits in them.
Dog N Suds (aka Arf N Barf). Great root beer.
Theres a&w here in washington state
Got a A&W about 20 min from me great food.
Vaguely remember ( A&W) stands along the high ways.
You need to update this video. All American Burger still exists and going strong in its original location in Massapequa, Long Island as of 2024.
I want Little Tavern back! Best burgers I ever had; you could buy them by the bag after clubbing.
A&w rootbeer stand is the king!!! Loved there burgers and rootbeer!
I worked at a Zantigo in Tucker, GA in 19882-83. My favorite iten was always the Green Chili Burrito. The chili part was slightly spicier than the Red Chili, but it was made with pieces of steak, not ground beef.
God I remember eating at Burger Chef.
I miss A&W Drive In being everywhere.
Can't remember the
last time I ate at one of those drive in's-???🤔. Always got a root beer to go. For later on.
Burger Chef was amazing. I miss it.
I liked their condiment bar, the forerunner of the salad bar
They had a better quality menu-!!!😉
A&w drive in restaurants hands down the old fashioned way cooked is the best no more in Modesto ca they closed it 😢😢
My Mother went to that A&W in the early 1960s when she was a teenager. She and a friend rented a home nearby when they were 17. Mom passed away in 2022. Miss ya, Mom. Hello, from Oakdale! 😊
I loved ❤ Sandy's!!! There was just something different about them. So sad to see a good thing go away. 😢
FYI, the All-American Burger in Massapequa is still open, still insanely popular and still delicious.
Burger Chef was super cheap in Los Angeles. I remember 15 cents per burger, but they didn’t look like the ones in that ad. Jack in the Box was cool in those days with their iconic Jack in the box architecture. Now they’re as boring as modern Mc Donald’s yuk!
I remember Wetson's, the kid meals had little plastic cars. My Dad used to take my sister and I when we were out n about.
They built a Whattaburger in Ocala, Florida that never opened.
We had a Rax/Rix/Jax in Middletown Ohio for years. I loved their roast beef sandwiches.
Tastee Freeze was a treat when they were around.
Vaugly remember those.
Is Shoney 's still around? That was my fave in the 60s.
Yes, Shoney's still exist, at least where they started in West Virginia.
@@rkitchen1967 Thank you!
@@ghw7192 I actually know someone who owns one.
UK here. Drive thrus are still a relatively recent addition to UK culture. 1990 and onwards. McDonald's drive thrus naturally are still proving popular with KFCc following suit, Costa Coffee also as is Subway. I suppose we didn't initially have the same car culture as USA until recently.
I remember growing up watching American movies awestruck that all 1950s American teens owned cars. My generation didn't.
One interesting story which came out during the pandemic was a Gypsy traveller who was refused service for passing by with his horse and wagon, couldn't be served as he wasn't in a car !!
I never ate at any of these places but we did get a hardees in 1990. A couple of years later a McDonalds came, living out in the sticks.
Red Barn was fantastic as was Gino's...both bigger than MCd's in NOVA
The women went for the burgers and Gino 😊
My Aunt worked at a Henry's in rock island illinois!
The only remaining Hot n Now is located in Sturgis, Michigan. There is an original building located in Plainwell, Michigan but I think it's a coffee shop now
Twin Kiss - I miss this place
There is still a Roy Rogers restaurant in Crofton, MD
I like Johny Rocker now, great food in a 50's motif
Roy Rodgers roast beef sandwich was very tasty.
We had one years ago in Hunterdon county, N.J.
I don't recognize the majority of these.
Stewart's is another restaurant gone to the wayside.
I’m not young, and on the east coast, I don’t recognize most of these restaurants.
There is now a Whataburger in Las Vegas, Nevada in one of the Hotel Resorts along the strip. Roy Rogers was one that never made it out west at all, I even know where Roy Rogers is laid to rest at. Del Tacos are still around in Southern California and probably in Las Vegas and Phoenix, Arizona.
Pup N’ Tacos we’re great places to go to, even for Slushes on a hot summer days, I knew of a Pup n’ Taco location that was torn down and a new Taco Bell was built there in it place and took over operations there too.
Have any videos of Drive In Restaurants in the 50 60 70 80 90 besides Sonic Drive In????
I'm greatful that White Castle is still around!
Burger Chef was 10 times better then McDonald's or Burger King. McDonald's is number only because they were the first and had the money behind them. I'm absolutely amazed that Burger king is stall in business every thing about them is the worst
Vaguely remember " Burger Chef " The cooked quality foods-!!!😉.
Why are Jack in the Box and Del Taco on this list?
Never mind that, why isn't Yankee Doodle Dandy mentioned?
I remember one named Wuvs in the 70s. Famous for skins on french fries.
So one Henry's Hamburgers still exist in Benton Harbor, MI.
My dad treated me to a burger & fries at a Henry's in 1970 while it was still in Chicago.
You didn't even mention Kip's Big Boy, Tastee Freeze, Carl's Coney Island, Der Wiernersitzel, Golden Corral, Mondo's Spaghetti House, Casa Bonita, Pennington's Drive Inn, Chi-Chi's, Monterrey House, Crystal's Pizza,Frank's Cafe, Furr's Cafeteria, Shotgun Sam's Pizza Palace, Godfather's Pizza, Lubby's, The Green Onion Steak and Ale,Molly Murphy's House of Fine Repute, Ron's Hamburgers, Ma Bell's, Harden's Chicken.
I thought this was about fast food restaurants that are now gone. Jack in the Box still exists in many locations. Same with Del Taco and Whataburger. Also, there is a difference in a drive-thru and a drive-in.
Jan BR ADY FOR Burger chef
Naugles again, please.:)
What about the PIG STAND ,I am from Texas ! Love the Burger Chef ,work there in the 1972-3,and Burger King too.
Really. Herpies burgers
I would like to order a herpies combo!
Sounds like a sexual transmitted disease burger 😊
I miss Cock Robin but since it's gone I'll take Portillo's.
Mr. Delicious 😂 Rax
Burger Queen!
I remember a MAD Magazine parody of Dairy Queen as Fairy Queer Same Sex Fast Food Dining.
Holly Farms Chicken was the best.
I miss Pup N Taco.
Do you remember BQF by the plaza when we were allowed to leave for lunch or Isleys
Arthur Treacher's Fish and Chips.
They were THE BEST. 🥲
I'm listening to the episode while cleaning the apartment, and I had never heard of Herfy's. When I first heard it, I thought it was "herpes".
Why is Jack in the Box in this video? It is still flourishing. It has not gone away.
White Castle's the best burger on Earth
GINO'S has entered the chat....🤨🍔
Did RAX become HOOTERS?
So most of these chains were not from the 70s and not all of them are gone and not all of them even did drive-thru. So basically the title of this video is horseshit.
Herpes Hamburgers...wait what?
Stop shaking the video.
I hope in the future when we land on Mars... someone opens a White Castle there.
Burger Chef was meh
Your writing is MEH. 🤡
What's wrong with ya' ? WHATABURGER IS STILL AROUND & GOING STRONG.
NEVER HEARD OF GINOS, HENRYS , SANDYS, NAUGLES, WETSONS, ALL AMERICAN BURGER, HOT N NOW , CARROLS, HERFYS, ZANTIGO, None of those restaurants were in the south.
YOU DON'T GET OUT MUCH FROM UNDER YOUR ROCK, DO YOU, DWEEB? 🤡
