I loved this video Val, and appreciate you including your gifted items as what came into your wardrobe - I have seen many UA-camrs who do not include these items in the final count. I also tracked what came in and out of my closet this year and was not happy with how much I brought in and the money it cost, so my goal this year is a maximum of 15 items that can come in. Hopefully I can stick to it! :')
I also tracked what I bought in 2022 and many lessons were learned. I bought many items in wrong colors, too dark or too dusty. At end of the year I also realized that I actually have warm skin undertone (quite neutral and peachy). Another mistake was to buy bottoms with a print when I'm person who loves striped tops. At least I stayed in my budget and was able to have 2 no buy months. Thanks for the inspiration! I'm definitely going to keep track of my purchases from now on. I don't want to forget any lessons.
You are my favourite UA-camr 🌷💕 I love how real and realistic your videos are. I have struggled very much with impulse clothing shopping in the years. I am not proud of myself last year and what I bought but this year I am being very intentional. My family and I are moving to a new town and have new jobs so we are doing a complete and total fresh start. We’ve been decluttering and want to be more minimal. I have made a wish list & a list to keep track of my clothing purchases. It’s really the only place I struggle. Looking forward to seeing if this is the year I finally stay on track and kick the emotional spending. I love videos like yours because they are so helpful! Thank you 😊
Val, you inspired me to record my purchases for the last two years. Also record when something doesn’t work out->Why? I’m very happy with my low-buy effort last year. I’m definitely learning a lot. Giving yourself grace/tolerance during difficult times is so important. Thank you for another great video.
I would love to see your process when you are looking to purchase a new item- how do you decide what you want, what research do you do, how do you finally decide on the item to purchase?
This is a helpful video Val, I am trying this, also tracking how often I wear each item. It’s a real eye opener for me. I hope to do a real low buy this year. Thank you for the inspiration.❤
I would love to see what you declutter in the rest of your home. Since you’re a minimalist it’s probably not much but that’s perfect because I watch hoarder videos and I’ve seen enough of that.
Interesting! You have inspired me to follow your lead. I'll track the number of items I add and subtract from my wardrobe this year. I'll also keep track of how much I spend. I suspect 2023 will be a low-buy year as I'm pretty happy with my existing wardrobe. Thank you Val!
Took your advice last winter. Took an inventory of my clothes and made a wish list. Lost track in the summer and bought too many. Got back on track for the rest of the year. Learned a lot. I also used your tip of purging at the end of each season. My closet is working well for me. Thank you.
You have really honed your spending and needs for your wardrobe. One thing that really helps you is that you have not had major changes in sizes or styles. This has been a difficult year for me due my husband's critical health issues and I have found myself having to buy more items because of weight gain. I try to be very intentional and keep to core colors and classic styles. Great job, thanks for sharing.
Hi Val, I remember you had wanted to purchase a pair of tennis shoes. I am waiting to see your pick for these because you buy practical and nice items.
I need to start tracking my wardrobe this year. Or just buying and spending in general. In 2022 I had to completely replace everything from a wardrobe, to re furnishing a apartment. I lost all my belongings. I bought way too much and over did it. Trying to figure myself out in the process. I will be very mindful this year. What I don’t end up wearing or using I will sell etc and moving forward will work on curating my wardrobe and being more mindful. I still have a few things to add but I need to learn it is not a rush. And enjoy the process. It’s been one impulsive year of shopping for me and has now made me concerned for my shopping habits now. 🤍 appreciate your content as it grounds me and inspires me to want to change my relationship with with spending!
Loved the video very much, great idea keeping track of your purchases and donations and it giving away/saling. And your right after seeing the items all together it did look like a complete capsule wardrobe 😀. Unfortunately I did purchases more than 25 items this year but I donated a ton of clothes since I retired and changed my lifestyle complete to me workout and causal clothing. Thank you for all the great tips. I am be do your channel but loving it. ❤️
Thank you for posting this, it's really eye opening! I was wondering do you ever get unwanted things from your friends/family? I am the go to for all the unwanted things and my flat is like storage because I can't get through away things I don need/wear because I think it's from a friend so I have to keep it, and it was free ...
You know, I used to get a lot of hand me downs from my sisters, but now I'm much more picky and only take things that I really like. and say no thank you to the rest 😅
Thank you for this very helpful video. I just added up my clothing purchases for January and was a little shocked. Although I have been decluttering items I no longer wear but I think I need to really start thrifting more clothes instead of buying new. I now plan to keep track of my purchases and costs this year to keep me aware and more intentional. Also where did you get your white clothing rack? Thank so much and I look forward to your next video! 😊
I love your content! But I have the opposite problem. I was in a low buy since 2016 (5-10 items a year) und now I have only old and worn out clothes. I have to go back to work soon and have no idea where to start to rebuild my wardrobe, because I was too many years stay at home mom.
Don't worry, you can totally do it! I have a personal style series on my channel that you might find helpful: ua-cam.com/play/PLHRDIaWhuTwJsWKiHAkZwXRY3BN3sJkIM.html
Great video! You are very aware of your fashion needs and wants. That is really good. I’m working toward being more conscious and less impulsive with my purchases and fashion choices. 🤗🌷

Let’s try to support each other this year!! I hope I can stick to around 12 items too 😅

Even though we make mistake purchases, I love that there's always a lessons we can learn and grow from! 🥰
Very inspirational, Valerie! 🙂 My motto of this year of 2023 is
" Use It Or Loose It " because last year's low buy year wasn't sufficient. 🇩🇰🙂
I love that motto! 😅

You can do it Candice!! I’ll try to make some videos throughout the year about this low buy so we can support each other 😁
Oh would SO love and appreciate that Val! 😊

Hmm that is a good idea, Ill try to think about it as I plan my purchases for the year..
Great video! I’m taking notes
I'm so glad it was helpful for you! 🥰

Thanks Ruth! Yeah I was thinking to also track what I wear for a season to see how my closet is doing… might be a good video idea too! 💡😄

Ha yes I do need to declutter my home a bit this year! will see when I will I get around to it.. 😅

Yes I agree, it is much harder if your body fluctuates in weight a lot.. and I'm so sorry about your husband's health, I hope that you are doing ok ❤

I am still on the hunt for them, hopefully will buy some soon! 😅

Thanks so much! And I love your shopping goal for this year 🥰
I would LOVEEEE to see what’s in your makeup bag. X
Maybe I'll show that in a video soon.. I'm pretty minimal with my makeup so it might be boring though 😅😅
This was a great video! I loved how you tracked everything.
Thanks so much!! 🥰
I love your long sleeve pocket tee!!
