What a lovely chap with plenty of time for his fans/fellow entusiasts. Hes dead right about B&M being the best. I dont care what anybody says, you can feel and see the quality of them is on another level to the rest.
i think a big part of his success is that he is so interested in the theming. I was just obsessed with nemesis when it first opened. i had a beanie hat with the logo before i'd even ever been to alton towers! the look of the thing and the backstory, the theming of the whole area...it's just incredibly compelling. it's a shame they had to ditch the 'blood' water around it- i only just found out about it from watching these videos
how accurate john was about air/galactica. most of the headsets removed off galactica, and time queues at galactica often double other rides (omitting wicker man, because of new ride hype) just because of the headsets on the back seats.
I count myself very lucky to be able to say my first ever rides were the Log Flume and Jungle Boat Ride at Barry Island in the late 1980s. Both were among the first rides John ever worked on, now long gone. Even then I knew there was something very distinct about those attractions.

Its innovative tho, I think it was just hyped up too much. If it was marketed as a thrilling family ride with a surprise then it'd have been a great ride on opening day. But instead they hyped it up to be the most terrifying ride around which just disappointed people. I still think it's a fun ride and I do enjoy the drop, it's unique
Dom wpc in your opinion pal, in my opinion reading it and I thought it was crap to be honest. If you enjoy with great but I personally just thought it was terrible.

P.P.P.S I didn't know that he actually worked on Rameses Revenge and had some input with regards to the development on it etc.
