I’m so glad this is finally available to see! As much as many disliked the VR on Galactica, I will always have fond memories of this as it was my first ever encounter of the technology in 2016. Always loved the music on this too!

Lewis, That's what you think, It was because every ride has a ride throughput, and it was becoming one of the slowest rides to remove the queue, normally Galactica before VR was pulling around 3,000 guests an hour, and it severely reduced that, because of the VR, meaning it would take longer each ride of loading/unloading.

Not everyone likes VR. In fact it’s quite a small minority who genuinely do. Many also experience headache/nausea/dizziness from it. Not to mention they had to clean the headsets due to hygiene reasons/eye infections, which are quite serious. I’ve been going to the park all my life. I’m also a life long PC gamer. I’m glad this went. Wish they had invested in scenery and not the VR as Wardley also wanted.
This VR was amazing! I rode it twice with VR. Once in the summer and once at scarefest. I loved it, however the headset slipped off my eyes and i had to hold it on. I prefer it without the VR but it was still amazing.

I rode it many times with VR and the whole purpose of being able to use Virtual Reality technology with the Samsung Gear VR headsets was to create a fully immersive reality you could look around. You could look around within your seat but the bulkyness of the VR rig and the close proximity of the restraints made it difficult to do so, but it was noticeable
This VR made the ride my favourite in the UK! I wished they could have bring it back even if you used 1 queue line for VR and 1 without (maybe go over the bridge for VR?)
I miss this so so much. Getting a good headset with that amazing IMAscore soundtrack was an amazing experience on an otherwise pretty boring coaster. We greatly miss it

What would be awesome as well is a split screen as I'd love to see this alongside the non-VR POV to match them up, or maybe even an overlay semi transparent so they are merged, or both :) This music sounds so good in the park, especially in the evening with the ride lit up. Edit: this could actually be a really cool idea for the park to do in a flying theatre, could then be longer and bigger too, tagging it onto a coaster loses some of the coaster's environmental thrill and it's too short a time really, so that could work better, good as it is on a coaster.

The one issue I had with the VR is that every time I went to ride it, there was no V-sync on my headseat, meaning there was awful tearing of the video whenever it moved.
I think it would be cool if they kept galatica the same but a retrack with the vr headset and it would be about us fighting the new nemesis monster. I just think it would be cool to see the nemesis monster moving and look real

The ride's capacity was cut in half. As much as I enjoyed the VR experience, they were right to get rid of it. It would probably have been ditched now anyway due to... you know what!
I went on it around 20 times and only once the audi/video was fully in sync and screen was in focus, but boy it was a good ride. Sadly when it was out of sync/focus or poor audio ir didn't work and the queues were very poor. Amazing idea, but needed another station platform to get a decent throughput.
As much as I love the original version of Air. This seemed really cool in a way of rebranding a coster. I like the space theme vr. Shame never got to experience it. There was also the you me at six music that was added to the swarm ride for like a couple of days.

I have experienced this once, it's good and unique but made me feel dizzy, I struggled to keep the headset on whilst going upside down and it slowed down train loading, so I'm glad they've gotten rid of it but kept the awesome theming and soundtrack
I'd love love see air make a return with its soundtrack as you've said, but imagine if they gave it a bigger budget to give it the theming it never managed to have.

With the better tech now, more detailed environments and make it less... busy(?) it could be great. Exploding this and that, loud music, just calm it down a little. Make it a more ethereal flight experience in one location, with the sensations from the ride and all this its just overly stimulating.

A lot of the issues with this is that VR makes most people sick. So it was obviously going to get mixed reviews. A lot of people loved how it looked, however it made them feel sick afterwards

Me too! I went during the coronavirus when everyone went mad in the summer so they weren’t doing VR.

There was no way to tell if it was full 360 as you couldn’t turn around in the train. From looking all the way up and down it seemed that way though!
It wasn’t full 360 degrees, when it was not synced properly you could see the edge of the video

Towers' gimmick is world-firsts. They had to do something to do with that.

Why did they stop doing the Vr experience?
Possibly to do with running costs, reliability of the system and a drag on the hourly throughput of the ride.
