Been looking forward to this review ever since arcade1up first announce these machines. Now I feel more at ease on buying one(can’t wait for AFM)Thank you so much 🙏
This was an excellent review. I'm going to attempt to get in on the AFM pre-order when it drops based on this review of their quality. Your stuff really is the best and most informative on youtube. thanks for all the hard work!
So Arcade 1up touted these 7.5" DMD screens as a selling feature, yet the scoring info on both the Marvel and SW tables have shown it to only take up about 2/3rds of available 7.5" DMD space. Seems like a missed opportunity with all that dead space above and below on the DMD panel? Would be nice if they could format it to fit the DMD dimensions properly.
I'm thinking of the way you tell the story and the ins and outs of the product is impecable and percise too. I would like to get one of these table's based on your video preformance.
This was awesome brother! I’m going to openly admit that I am one of those guys that has Attack from Mars preordered and had no interest in the others where they weren’t based on “real tables” but....I think somehow you have even sold me on this one. The table looks great and you did such a good job covering everything I could possibly think of asking. Awesome Job and well worth the wait for the upload

Great review and very informative. This has got to be one of the best things I have seen EVER! I had my doubts about the whole virtual pinball thing but Arcade1Up has hit it out of the park with these machines. I find myself seriously thinking about where in the house my wife will let me put one. On a side note, these arcade machines allow me to bring home a little of that arcade magic for my teenage daughter who never really had the experience of going to an arcade. Again, thanks for the detailed review.
Thank you for mentioning what it's like during multi-ball! That's always been the Achilles heel of these things. Glad to hear Arcade1Up seem to have finally defeated that flaw. Awesome review!
Wow, that was a detailed, informative and well planned out review. Arcade 1up should use this on their website! Makes me excited to buy one of these! Thanks!
Preordered one yesterday. Thanks for the awesome review Doug. Keep them coming, Last Christmas I bought the legends ultimate cabinet because of your review on that machine and I have been super stoked with it. I expect non the less with this pinball machine.
Amazing review I was up in the air over a1up and atgames. I think I’ll get the attack from Mars and hope at a later date I can buy all the Bally Williams tables from zen. I have a reservation for 3rd wave atgames maybe I’ll get both. I really love zen tables over farsight. And the 1up is ready to play
Great video! One of the best review videos of this product. Your content is great and is only getting better and more polished every time I tune in! Thank you for the great informative videos!!
I'm so pumped in getting this machine :) The quality of the video and the way you explained everything is top-notch. At one point I was planning on building my own, but it would have cost $1500+ with all the features like the plunger and haptic feedback. I own all the Zen games on PC so I'm familiar with the Marvel series and looking forward to playing them on a table.
Excellent review Doug! I can only hope that they get rid of the bumper points displayed on the play field as you play the game. The bumper points are already added to the score screen on the back display. Brushless fan motor would be a plus! Also the option to download game packs via wifi, through an in game, or menu app, like the PS4 would make this unit complete! Thanks again Doug! Great job!
you CAN turn off the playfield pop up scores in the settings menu. I apparently misspoke and didn't catch what I said in the editing process. Chalk one up me uploading this late last night and not paying close enough attention.
Killed the review Doug. I wasn’t interested in the Arcade 1up pinball tables at all but because of your review I’m definitely buying one now. Just have to decide which one.
Thank you very much! I'll never understand why some choose to make product reviews more about themself and less about the product, but I guess to each their own.
Wow! What an amazing review. You actually given me way more information then I thought I would get. Thank you so much ...you thought of everything. I'm super picky, so it definitely was appreciated🎉😊
Perfect review, straight to the point and no unnecessary waffle 👍. Re. the fan, it might be out of balance hence the increased noise at times? Should be an easy fix if it's accessible. Hope everyone has a great Christmas and New Year, thanks for all the videos and streams 👍👍.
Just judging by your UA-cam avatar, I'd say you would like Marvel. It does have both the Amazing Spider-Man and Venom tables on this machine. Both of which are in my top favorite Marvel/Zen tables made.
Incredible review! Great job as always. I can’t help but be curious if they’ll ever incorporate their Universal Monster pack into a future table. It seems unlikely, but I can’t help but hope for it. Monster Bash is my favorite pin of all time.
Great review! Thanks for sharing with the community. Was a little surprised you didn’t point out the weird letterboxing on the “DMD” screen, with those rather large black bars above and below. Same thing on the Star Wars machine. Not a deal breaker, but just seems strange to put a screen in there and only use 50% of the real estate.
Awesome review sir,I have been convinced to buy one now. Want that Battle toads arcade you have as well haha. Love that Sting zip up btw. Thanks again for the very thorough review.
I got the star wars delivered today but the screen has been damaged in transit. So bummed. Not sure if they have stock of SW and a replacement screen might not be an option. Might mod it if the only option is return.
Great review, Glad you found a way to turn off the pop up scores that looked a tad annoying. Overall looks fantastic. Is there any changes you know of or is this the final package? Can’t wait to put the Star Wars pinball next to my Atari 1up. Will you be picking up the Atgames for a side by side comparison? Looks like 1up set a pretty nice bar. Curious what was the longest you played? And how long did you keep it powered up, since that may have caused the hold up till 2021. Happy to wait for quality control.
From what I was told this unit would be the final package, if a change were to occur it would be minor. I've got the AtGames machine on pre-order as well. The longest I've have had the machine on thus far has been around 6 hours straight, no issues to speak of with that.
Enjoyed the review. I'm glad to hear the height of the table is more like a real pin, as far as the play field goes. I am going to have to slap a big page magnifier in front of that tiny, little DMD, though. Not thrilled about that 24" play field monitor, either. That means it's only 1/4 scale, inside a 3/4 scale cabinet. That's the second thing I'll have to replace, at some point, with my vision. But, it's not a total deal breaker. I've muddled through with the Toyshock's 24" 1/4 scale monitor, I aughta survive the A1up's offering, for a while. amazing stuff coming to our home arcades, these days. Eh? Thanks for the video.
it really is a great time to be alive with all theses great and different offerings coming out in recent years in regards to home arcade products. The market has been just exploding with new products in the last two years alone.
Awesome sauce! Still think I want the attack from mars one. The fan on the pcb looks very similar to the one on the outrun cab, which I was also having issues with the fan until I reseated a few of the connections and moved some wires around.
Dude that was an awesome video. This is hands down the best review I've seen in a while. I really want this product but, my only hang up is the DLC offering. This is a device that I would like to continue to invest in but arcade 1up didn't provide an option to do so.
Glad you liked it! I'm hoping for some DLC options at some point in the future, I think that will really increase the value add these machines provide.
Super stoked for this! This honestly looks as good as I hoped and I can’t wait! Getting Star Wars for myself and Attack from Mars for my Daddy :D Weirdly, the language selection every time the machine is turned on, while not major, is actually a negative for me. To me, arcades are meant to be super convenient; a quick button press and a game is started. It’s not a crazy huge deal but I hope that’s something that might be updated with a firmware update to have to only select once.
Well done on the review, Sir.👍🏽. “Would I like it to be bigger, better, faster?... of course... I’m American!” Dude, that’s gonna be my new mantra!”💪🏽🇺🇸💯
Between this one and the Star Wars pinball do you have a preference in terms of the how fun the tables are to actually play. I like both star wars and marvel themes so kind of torn which one to get. I think from what i have seen of star wars with the theme music etc it looks really cool but was curious if one may be more to play over the other. I do realize that this is subjective. Thnx and keep up the great work. Really enjoying your content!
CoolToy, Ahhh! Glorious 4K!!! Great Review! I couldn't ask for a more glowing recommendation and will now be picking up the Attack From Mars VPin when it becomes available! I agree with you, I'll take a resolution hit any day in order to get gameplay to work correctly. No Lag! Ahhhhh Yeeeeaaaaahhhhh! This is the one area virtual pinball has to get right for me. You're video shows how Arcade1up was able to get 1 to 1 button to onscreen action and I'm totally pumped! I heard the monitors in the Arcade1up VPins are 1080p, and John D. mentioned in an interview there might be a Gen 2 upgrade kit for these 1st Gen machines, so who knows. In the future we may be able to upgrade the resolution to 1080p 60fps. But regardless, from your video, this looks GREAT at 720p! I can't wait to see your Star Wars VPin review when you get it. I tried to watch an early look of that machine by another UA-camr (they shall go un-named) and they decided, out of the blue, to start spoiling unrelated Star Wars show information. I was so angry and shut off the video. I'm glad you stuck to talking about the actual machine in your videos. Thank you again for this AMAZING review! Excelsior! vgv
Yea the 720p aspect wasn't nearly as big of an issue as I thought it would be when they first made that announcement. The gameplay speed is what has really provided the best experience overall and I'm happy they nailed the 60fps. If later on down the line we can upgrade to 1080p 60fps somehow, then that will be icing on the cake. I'm super excited for my Star Wars pinball machine I have pre-ordered to arrive. It will look great next to my Arcade1Up Star Wars Atari cab. Lol you've stated just one of the many, many reasons I refuse to watch or support that particular individual's content.
Looks like a nice littke machine from Arcade1up.. might be in on the Attack From Mars version.. love to use virtual tables to learn rule code for the real machine counterparts.. can afford to own all the machines included in the package so its a budget fruendly option for learning code and developing strategies
@TheGamingCasanova Yeah thats what I said in my post.. The Attack From Msrs version may be in on.. and budget friendly being compared to ither virtua pins that are on the market.. you generally cant touch one close to this for $1500 brand new.. so compared to thise models it is budget friendly.. it has allthe haptic feedback ,accelerometers, and other features that more expensive virtual pins have for a fraction of the price
anything is possible and I'm sure someone will devise a method of putting in a larger screen in no time at all. I just don't know how much financial sense it will make in the end to do that.
@@cooltoy Yeah I get what you mean. First impression is there seems to a bit of wasted space with the chrome trim and black border around the playfield. But no-one else seems too bothered by that so it must just be me. Still looks like an awesome product.
Hi Cooltoy, love your videos always. Went are you going cut your hair lol. After Covid-19? So if we order it are we able to get it before February of 2021?
I'm growing my hair out to donate it to the locks of love charity. I'll probably let it grow a few more months. I can't answer with a 100% certainty on the release date time frame of the machines, but February is the window I've heard used the most often.
yea, I think not using the capture card was the better choice in the end as well. Easier to illustrate the common view points a player would have without it. I thought the glare was going to be more of a problem for me than it turned out to be in the end.
As we are starting to see all of our rec rooms and spare rooms fill up with Arcade 1up machines and starting to run out of space, it would be nice to see the ability to put all the games on a single table. I get it for the video game cabinets because of the varying controls and screen ratios, but pinball is basically the same format for every pinball game... Ever. A plunger and flipper buttons and a rectangular playing field. Arcade 1up will make us buy a new table for each group of 10 games? Yeah, I'll be seriously looking at the AT Games version just because of this.
Another amazing review Doug! I love the 4k resolution of the video. Makes it nice and crisp and it really pops on a large 4k screen. It reminded me of the Amazing and still best star wars cabinet review you did. Did arcade 1up respond to the fan issue?
My pleasure! I haven't heard anything from Arcade1Up about the fan noise, the last two times I've turned it on its back to running at it's normal, quiet tone. I may take it apart over the weekend and see if it just needs to be repositioned on the board to see if that's the issues.
Great review and video as always. Thanks for mentioning the height. Im 6,2 as well so that soldified my opinion. Im going to buy one when (and if) it comes to Europe. Merry Christmas to you CoolToy and to all us nerds and geeks.
I love the review but the 24 inch screen is too small and especially the 720p is very noticeable. You have a way of saying the cons without being harsh about it.
Nice review! The machine looks beautiful, but IMO, this shouldn't have launched without leaderboards and the ability to buy additional FX3 tables. Once they have that, Id be happy to shell out the $550.
As always great review CoolToy, very well done. Still on the fence due to size (I'm 6' but less "lean and mean" than you :). Any chance you can go over the internals more closely, what CPU, RAM, etc.? Just want to get a feel for what this bad boy is capable of. Would also want to replace that internal fan as when the wife is sleeping I'd play with low volume levels and that fan hum would drive me batty. So knowing if it is jumpered and an easy fix is important to me.
the fan can be easily unplugged from the PCB, though I have no idea what the ramifications of doing that might entail in the short or long term ownership of the machine.
@@cooltoy sorry, I meant I would replace it with a silent fan. I would advise anyone reading this to NOT unplug the fan without replacing it with an equal or higher airflow fan. @CoolToy thanks for the rapid response, tell your family Merry Christmas from all of us in UA-cam land. :)

From what I was told this unit would be the final package, if a change were to occur it would be minor. I've got the AtGames machine on pre-order as well. The longest I've have had the machine on thus far has been around 6 hours straight, no issues to speak of with that.
Are you gonna do a video with actual gameplay? I'd like to see what the different tables look like.
I may give that a try, I just didn't want to mess with it too much and be sitting with a dead machine.
Looks neat! Only problem I see is that baby screen. Next version with a bigger screen I'm in!
Excellent review as always. The fact that the playfield display is 1080 native makes me wonder if Arcade1Up will entertain hardware upgrades.
Fingers crossed!
That's neat.
It's almost like lifting up a playfield on a real machine.
Dude that was an awesome video. This is hands down the best review I've seen in a while. I really want this product but, my only hang up is the DLC offering. This is a device that I would like to continue to invest in but arcade 1up didn't provide an option to do so.
Glad you liked it! I'm hoping for some DLC options at some point in the future, I think that will really increase the value add these machines provide.
great vid! just received my marvel today!
enjoy your new machine!!
This video was super helpful and has made me go from a maybe to a definite buy! Thank you!!
You're welcome!
Super stoked for this! This honestly looks as good as I hoped and I can’t wait! Getting Star Wars for myself and Attack from Mars for my Daddy :D
Weirdly, the language selection every time the machine is turned on, while not major, is actually a negative for me.
Thanks! 👍
Bro you gotta stop doing these reviews, my wallet can only take so many hits 😂
my house can only take some many hits! I'm going to have to build a spare add on at this rate lol.
Agreed! :)
@@cooltoy Charge for admission and they will pay for themselves :)
My marvel pinball supposed to be available today from Nebraska furniture Mart I called them today now they’re saying April 3 😔
CoolToy,
Ahhh!
Excelsior!

CoolToy, you're the best!

Yes! Thanks! 👍
glad to help!
Great review as always, dude. From your impressions, what do you think the chances are of the modding community making that play field a tad bigger?
anything is possible and I'm sure someone will devise a method of putting in a larger screen in no time at all.
Great job on the video appreciate all the hard work one of your best videos
Thanks! It took quite a while to shoot and put it all together, downside of being a one man operation. Glad to hear you enjoyed it.
I'm glad you didn't just use a capture card. The pinball looks good but the playfield just looks too small.
yea, I think not using the capture card was the better choice in the end as well. Easier to illustrate the common view points a player would have without it. I thought the glare was going to be more of a problem for me than it turned out to be in the end.
Good review, and it looks good, but it needs nudge buttons and maybe a lifejacket.
Great review- I am waiting patiently to see what others will have to offer (Atgames pinball).
thank you for the feedback!
Nice review dude. Can't wait to see you do the Starwars one.
Great review and nice 🦂 hoodie. The legend, the Icon, this is Sting. 👍🏻
He's been one of my favorites since childhood, really great guy in person as well!
Merry Christmas!
I love the review but the 24 inch screen is too small and especially the 720p is very noticeable. You have a way of saying the cons without being harsh about it.
Great review, thank you.
Happy I could help 👍
Great vid man!
thanks Gunther!
Awesome review. You’ve sold me, no idea when they’ll get to Australia though.
Awesome review! When the fan starts up louder, does it settle down after a bit or stay in that mode until the next bootup?
it's done both. I've had it settle down after about 20 mins, and other times it's never settled down.
Nice review! The machine looks beautiful, but IMO, this shouldn't have launched without leaderboards and the ability to buy additional FX3 tables. Once they have that, Id be happy to shell out the $550.
Good review man as always!
thank you Stephen!
Great video!!! Arcade 1up nailed it 👌
Glad you enjoyed it!
I kinda wish it wasnt a screen and a actually pin ball machine
Please do a gameplay video on the Marvel tables so we can check that out!!!
I’m glad it saves the high scores even when unplugged. We all know what George Costanza went through with Frogger.
