I used to listen to this and sit in my living room to watch my plants grow, they were healthy plants! I think my plants liked this music too 🌹🌿
These guys are amazing. I saw them some years back in Portland and their set was completely dark and they started playing Empire and Alex emerged out of this fog they had going all over the stage and started singing and it was so piercing and hollow. It was the most bone chilling spine tingling thing I've ever experienced.
What do you mean by hollow?
I bet it was amazing to have the atmosphere set like that and open with Empire, such a great fn song.

Stumbled on this band after watching the pilot episode of "True Detective" (Episode ends with "Young Men Dead"). HAD to follow up on them. One of my new favorite bands by far. Absolutely blown away. I've been a die-hard Growlers fan (beach goth) but these guys are threatening to take the title.
i got into the Black Angels and the Growlers at about the same time 5 years ago.. been trying to help both get popular, although the Growlers have been falling off a bit, too many drugs I think
I agree, although I just heard "Monotonia" and "California" recently
on UA-cam and was pleasantly surprised.

The drummer fucking KILLS IT! Saw them live tonight in Trousdale, and WOW did primus choose a good opener! I hope to see great things coming in the future from these guys.
I really liked how the bass and drums were turned up higher at the show tonight, I hope you can highlight them a bit more in the future!
They opened for Primus!?!?! That's so awesome! I think The Black Angels and The Claypool Lennon Delirium would be a crazy show

Innovative and fresh approach to revisiting the spirit of the 60's music scene without losing the freeness of the time. Free to play your music anyway you wanted without record producers gutting your songs or putting fake bands together and writing all their songs for them (example: the Monkeys and 50% of the stuff out of Nashville). Like them or not these guys at least are REAL! I like them.

One of the few great modern psych-garage bands to incorporate such an insanely abyssal, dark sound and subject matter to their music. In many ways the polar opposite of Tame Impala, Temples, and the like (although those bands are great, too!)
My girl friend and I were swooning over the drummer with his long hair flowing in the silhouette. Found out later in the set it was a chick. Still swooned.
