"Acting funny & I actually know why, excuse me while I learn from this Marty guy." Thanks so very much Marty, this is terrific, you have given us the whole shabang, how about Hey Joe solo next!!!
I don't comment on here often but I have just got to say, THANK YOU MARTY. I'm 60 years old and I started playing guitar when I was 13. I was a little above average but in 1995 I was in a car accident and I cut my Left arm really bad. I cut my ulmar and radius nerves into. I couldn't use the fingers in my left hand for months. But I slowly got the use of the ring and pinky fingers back close to normal. But the middle and pointer have about 60 percent use. So I didn't pick up another guitar until just a few years ago. I have to improvise I can't do bar chords but I do okay. But since I've been doing Marty's lessons I'm actually able to play the lead to this song and it's just a blessing that I can play at all. Jimi Hendrix was my idol and now I'm actually playing lead to one of my favorite songs and I just want to say thank you Marty. THANK YOU SO MUCH
Marty i have to say thank you for changing my life, over a two years ago i would never think about getting a guitar. Until one day my neighbor was throwing out they're old acoustic. But i would never know how to play my first song that I learned if it wasnt for you (it was just like heaven from the cure) the feeling i got from learning that song gave me confidence it made me feel great about my self. Ever since ive been learning so much from i would come home from school and learn a new song everyday and i still do. I would never think i would be able to play such a simple song or solo from jimi hendrix, like im just realizing this now. Ya its not like a super hard song but to see where i came from it feels good man. And I remember your other channel stopped posting tutorials and i got sad for a bit until i found this channel. But anyways,Thank you so much and god bless you. much love for you man and only good vibes🙏🏻💕
put the speed of the video to really slow easier to see what he did 14 low e then hit 14 again but pull of to the 12 then go up to the 15 on the b string then back down to the 12 low e then go to the 14 on the b string then hammer on 15 and back to the 14 then 12 and 14 I hope thats understand able I had a hard time with it too
Learn it super slow like he says .......If u stress out on a part ...... a .RIFF leave it for 2 morrow & Jimi did not play the same thing twice when live ,So relax chill enjoy U will get this under yr fingers :-)
Bravo! Had the tabs for 2 months, but couldn't figure out the rhythm/timing until your lesson, thanks as always. Now I can add this entire song to my arsenal. Would love to see some Mayer lessons off the new album.
Thank you once again! I learnt the song ages ago but didn't learn the solo, just the chords over it. And thanks to you, I had fun whilst learning the solo and can now play it really well. Can't wait to watch more videos by you.
Almost 10 years of seeing you in my UA-cam feed. Jeeeez time is flying. Thanks for being the first guitar teacher to make it all "click", all those years ago 🤘😎🎸
Thanks for posting. Really worked out the subtle major notes I was playing wrong. I still just don’t understand how someone can come up with something so fucking wacky and good and simple. Hendrix really was head-scratchingly amazing. I know he’s considered the best by many, but I wonder if people are still baffled by his playing like I am.
It's funny that the algorithm puts guitar lesson ads over the Marty vids, saying how horrible UA-cam guitar lessons are. Whoa, are they mistaken! Marty is the best. They'd be better off selling cool guitars or accessories than competing with Marty.
Hey Marty, just wanted to say thank you for making me a better guitarist. If I ever need to learn guitar stuff your my go to guy. Your lessons have helped me over the years. I am learning the Hendrix stuff at the moment and when you teach, I get it. Thanks !
Thanks Marty for doing that very cool lesson. Maybe the most recognizable solo ever. I'm definitely going to keep practicing this one till I get it down.
That really is an awesome solo. Not "easy", yet not too difficult. The hardest part for me in solos is remembering exactly how it goes. Ear training I believe is what that is called. This one is familiar which makes it easier. That last part you played with the effects was awesome. Must practice this classic solo! Thanks Marty!!
All i gotta say is your vids have made me a much better guitar player in two months. my new les paul feels loved now that i can play like Marty. keep it up man i got the bell on
Love this one. Have you ever thought of dissecting Purple Rain? I know the solo is pretty long and there are some videos out there but I think you explain these better than anyone.
this video made me think of a decent idea for all floyd rose users who do not use a stabilizer. doing bends will make you go out on other strings obviously. try holding the bar when you begin to bend to compensate. i used to place my hand on the bridge to add pressure to help but the bar idea seems work sitting down. i feel stupid because i have been playing guitar for 19 years and this just came to me. im slow hahahahaha
Marty, I'm really enjoying your new project! I started searching out your lessons and song tutorials a long time ago. I love the ease, humor, and encouraging vibe you project. Most recently, you inspired me to go back and really learn the fretboard and theory I'd either forgotten or never learned. My playing has taken a giant leap forward - thanks brother! Also - that rake upward lick I first learned as one of the iconic licks in Black Dog probably from you :-) How about more on soloing around the melody ala Jerry, Allman Brothers etc? Peace!
Love this. Partly because its one of his easier solos, partly because its in standard tuning, but mostly because it sounds awesome! Incidentally, can anyone else hear the string rake on the actual recording of this song? I've listened with headphones and I can't hear it.
MARTY!!!! Thanks for some more great content could you do a video on Hendrix’s song once I had me a woman? I feel like w the slow tempo of the song it wouldn’t be too hard to transcribe I’m just not on your level 😂help a brother out and thank you I have used so many of your videos over the years you’re a huge asset to me and many other self taught UA-camrs
Marty Schwartz, the most amiable and greatest guitar teacher of all time.

You're the reason why I can call myself a guitarist. I owe you my hobby my dude

chinese democracy by guns n roses that'd be really interesting
wow. actually hearing and seeing it slow and clean brings out a profundity and beauty that was always implicit, but is now revealed as sublime.

Great lesson Marty! Though at 15:40- 16:20 it seemed like you rushed a bit and I don't know how you played it.
Robert Weston happens once every three videos. Most of the time he is good about it.

We almost take this solo for granted it’s so familiar, but SO radical, amazing!
I know right? You don’t appreciate how intricate it is until you try to play it.
hi Marty, you've heard it many times but you rock
appreciate the tutorial and keep up the excellent work
