    Hey guys ..Love to see you guys to talk on pitches not only in India but all over the world, If there is spin from the first ball in a test match and wickets fall in a heap it is considered poor pitch but if a team wins toss choose batting and score 500 + runs in the first innings then no one bats an eye 👀.... Isn't that also considered a poor pitch? Both these scenarios show uneven contest between bat and ball ? So what is an ideal pitch for a test match.... #AskTGC

    Just do what India is doing for swing. We encouraged some Ranji trophy groundsmen to leave a bunch of grass or import bouncy soil. Obviously, our test pitches are still dust bowls because we still want home advantage. I honestly remember watching the 19-20 Ranji semifinal and the pitch was green af. Ishan Porel, a 21 year old pacer, absolutely wreaked havoc on Karnataka.
    So England and Australia need turning wickets in some domestic grounds. Give them the conditions and the bowlers will automatically develop the skills that will give them the advantage.

    The thing is western cricketers are athletes first and cricketers second. Indian cricketers are cricketers first and athletes second. The previous generation of Indian cricketers were only cricketers and not athletes. Indian cricketers don't play a lot of sports when younger, hence their bodies are completely optimised for the game by the time they are 25. This also allows them to avoid the wear and tear that ages the cricketers and can afford to have longer careers.

    I think Nick is definitely on to something and not just with the bowlers but also with the batters. If someone were to see Steve Smith bat without knowing how good he is, they would likely criticize his body form and batting style. As weird as he bats, he scores a ton of runs and looks like he would never get out. Maybe that's the key to be successful in modern cricket where something you do weirdly/uniquely gives you a little bit of advantage.

It’s a spirit that competes every single day to get ahead in a race of 1.4b people. It’s a civilization that thrives in ambiguity and makes the most of limited resources. India’s time has come and the western nations will never be able to understand what makes the Indian cricketer unique.

    • @yubbityyubba7749
      @yubbityyubba7749 3 роки тому

      in australia there are tons of Indian immigrants and I always see way more of them at the park than Aussies playing cricket, and I verse tons of them at club level. Its confusing why almost none of them go professional besides the recent tanveer sangha and Sandhu. My theory is that the families move to Australia/western countries for better education/economic/job opportunities. So whilst their parents might support them playing cricket as a child and even a teen, when later high school comes around they would want them to give up cricket to fully focus on school, getting into an engineering/medical degree at a high level university, because this sets them up for a much more secure life than pursuing to be a cricketer. Thats my theory, or maybe we will start to see much more Indians playing professionally for Australia in the future. But you also must understand that immigrants from India will get Australian coaching which is textbook and thus what TGC is saying is outdated, whilst a guy like Ashwin likely developed his own unorthodox yet very effective bowling technique by himself
