    Been waiting for a video like this. Quick, to the point, with a plethora of not obvious ways to improve your gameplay at various stages of the game.

    These are great tips, I've been Humankinding since release and am really enjoying the game. I'm having fun because I realize I don't have the depth of knowledge and experience on Humankind that I do on Civ VI, so I'm going to make mistakes, suboptimal decisions, screw-ups, and bizarre self-defeating choices. I'll enjoy it and move on!
    Also, where is the secret meeting room where all UA-camrs met to decide that all forests must be torn down always in all 4X strategy games? Does it have nice plush chairs? Adequate ventilation? Nice views? If you could do me one favor, the next time you feel yourself getting ready to say "and now you should cut down this forest tile", please just say "happy fun time poo bear dancing crystals".
    I don't care about forests, either in Humankind or real life, but if I hear "cut down forests" one more time I'm going to ransack a sanctuary.

    That ransack tip was really useful...I've come across scenarios where I conquer a city, but I don't want it. Thanks!

    Thx for this! Great video man:)
    EDIT: And I LOVE the last point. When I was younger I was always persuing min/maxing every game so I'd spend hours looking at guides etc. Nowaday I just enjoy discovering games at my own pace with a little headstart from videos like this.
    If I fail and loose in Humanking? It's still a lesson and I still had a great time:)

    I’m curious how you learned about the animal sanctuaries being the spawn source of independent later on?
    This seems odd, and a bit nonsensical as a design.
    Is there somewhere I can look this up to confirm if that is indeed true?
    If it is, then having scouts hyper watching anywhere nearby can not be overstated.
    I know they spawn as a camp that takes a turn or two to finish. However I’m most thinking if it starts as animal sanctuaries and can be avoided it’s ultra important

    How do you get the coloured boarder indications for districts? (ie. blue for science districts, brown for makers, as seem at 10:33
    )

      Its one of the 3 buttons on the bottom right of the screen. One turns on the hex grid, one shows tile yields and the other shows the type of district

    The "tip within a tip" is wrong: Mammoths don't give you influence. Just 20 gold. *EDIT* As Havoc points out, it depends on the era. In the Neolithic era it does yield influence.

    • @HForHavoc
      @HForHavoc  2 роки тому +2

      If you’re in the Neolithic, it’s the only way - outside of curiosities - to gain influence. It’s 20 influence and 20 food. Once you get past the Neolithic it only generated gold

    Do you know if the longer games (450-600 turns) just have prolonged time to build/research stuff like CIV? Or the pace remains the same but you have more time?
    I've won games on 300 turns but I end the game in 1800's with no time to research or 'get' everything. I.e. seek out late game aluminum/uranim for Mars projects and similar. Also no time to have fun with late game army units.

    • @HForHavoc
      @HForHavoc  2 роки тому +1

      The pacing slows down for sure. Which can be good to help players hit those later-eras too

    • @ClanHawkins
      @ClanHawkins 2 роки тому

      One reference is that in Neolithic normal speed (300turn) you gain a pop for every 20 food but in Slow speed (450 turns) you need 30 food to get a new pop.

    • @Valks-22
      @Valks-22 2 роки тому

      @@ClanHawkins i'm trying 450 on Huge now, the resource demands/inputs are higher but the build times not so much. I have reached oil and aluminum while not being science focues with ~150 turns to spare so I have time to mess around with late game units. Much preferable than 300 where I had maybe 50 turns to really do anything with the last era.

      The slower speeds increase the costs of everything, more research needed for tech, more influence needed for outposts and cities.
